    I came to John Zorn rather late. I used to run a CD & Record store. I got my first batch of Masada CD's in in the early 2000's & was totally blown away. The first cd's we got were mostly Masada live & some of the studio recordings. I stayed in the shop listening until 10 that night. I had always thought that Zorn's stuff was to crazy for me. I'd heard little bits of painkiller, cobra, & various other experiments but the Masada stuff was a revelation & then was quickly followed by all of the 50'th birthday recordings which I think. are one of the greatest creative Musical outpourings in the later part of the last century

      @ibbeebee A record store on what part of the globe? Needless to say the Masada material is a “safe” place to start with maestro Zorn ;)

      I came late as well. I am in my 40s. Like others have mentioned it's never too late.... Unless you're dead of course.

    Love it. How could I listen to that much Tzadik-Music and ignoring Uri Caine all the time (since last week)?

      +Marc Köberlein I love the Tzadik label! There is so much music to be explored on that label one can simply not keep up! But I try. The only music I buy these days comes from Tzadik. The Radical Jewish series is a treasure trove of wonderful music that moves my soul!

    Great music for sure I enjoy a lot - but why exactly is John Zorn on stage? - would it sound really different if he weren't?

    • @FaustoSaporito
      @FaustoSaporito 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Zorn conducts often. The result could be very different.
