In defense of fedoras and suspenders, it really does depend on how people wear them. The fedora is usually a slightly bigger hat than what is typically shown and associated with the meme, the hat often associated with the term fedora is a trilby and is often worn with the most random clothes. Fedoras should be worn in a proper setting with proper attire such as a suit to elevate the look and add a touch of vintage style. As for the case for suspenders, I will defend the original look and use for suspenders which aren't the clip on ones, rather the button suspenders which look like a "Y". It's to be used to hold the pants up at the waist which is at the belly button and slightly below. Suspenders in the 30s through 50s were used sort as a belt/undergarment, they weren't supposed to be seen because they were covered by a waist coat and in addition a suit jacket. Though suspenders do often look very well when used with high waisted pleated fuller cut dress pants. The Urkle stereotype is absolutely wrong, it's more of a mockery. There's many guys who pull these off very well, so I wouldn't say that it doesn't have aura rather it can add aura when used properly. Case closed
