I'm not sure if you're a part of the revival effort or not, but we're releasing the full video of an early performance in these next few days! I really hope you'll join the effort, it's a lot of fun and we already have all of the materials + permission from everybody but the Gibson estate to perform it (that's what we're working on now!) oh i couldn’t not shout you guys out lol, i’ve been checking your tumblr every so often for updates :] you guys are doing so much cool stuff and it’s really exciting to see! i’ve kind of considered joining in on it but i’m scared of talking to people so i haven’t yet haha.
Fun fact: Mark Baker (Andy in the 77’ Musical Adventure movie), was actually supposed to reprise his role as Andy for this musical (an earlier version before this one, where the Raggedies are in the circus or something, he did for this version apparently, (and Scott who got the part for this actual final version was his understudy as well, unfortunately Mark later dropped out of the whole thing when Ann became more of the lead role, and Scott took over as we all know as Andy in the end, (but I’m assuming Mark was actually gonna get the actual part as Andy in this version later on as well if he didn’t drop out, it’s not confirmed, but I think it was really likely). Scott was great, but Mark coming back as him again would of been really cool! :)

i would love to join, i just haven’t looked into doing that because interacting with people scares me haha. guess i’ll just have to put that fear behind me :)
I collect raggedy Ann's I think I have over 59 I think and I have atisum and adhd but that's not the point if it was still a thing in would watch it and I wanna be a costume designer for broudway and operas
same on the adhd!!! i started a raggedy ann collection recently, i have a doll, a board game, two books, and a little kitchen set thingy all around raggedy ann :) also you can watch a version of the show on youtube! the raggedy ann revival effort found some of the footage :)
haha yeah, i got some of my stuff from vintage stores and garage sales, but the doll i have and one of the books are both things my grandma got for my mom when she was a kid :D
1:52 Wait what As I understood that, Raggedy Ann gave her candy heart to Marcelia and Raggedy Ann was already dead (?) As if she would not come back to life and would be a normal doll or would she be dead at all?
so if marcella died, raggedy ann would’ve died, along with the other dolls. when raggedy ann sacrificed her heart for marcella, she sort of died, but after marcella woke up, her dad offered to fix raggedy ann so she wouldn’t be dead forever lol. it’s all in marcella’s dream anyway so she’s fine.
if you’re referring to the esipa recording from 1984, that footage actually hadn’t been released yet when i had made this video! i’ve seen it since then tho. it’s very cool :3

other way around! the animated movie is from 1977, and the broadway musical from 1986 is very loosely based on it. both of them have joe raposo as the composer, hence why they both use the songs rag dolly and blue :)
i included a couple of screenshots of videos on youtube in the video so i’d recommend looking into those, especially the rag dolly in the ussr documentary, it’s really neat :] if you don’t want to listen to the entire audio bootleg of one of the broadway performances then you can just listen to the songs, a channel named rag dolly has them all posted separately :D
