Yo i got a nice idea try this out! Pokemon with mives of their type. Examples are Chimchar can use only fire moves Salamence can use only dragon and flying moves. Try it out if u find this interesting. ❤❤❤
For grinding spots you can forever grind the interviewers in the double battle, and if you have somebody you want to focus level give them EXP share, their pokemon cap out at lvl 41 if i recall correctly, its easy money and easy XP becaus the exploud gives a lot of xp
Love it!! That's what I thought in my last comment like we need another challenges like only one pokemon challenges! Like I said... Love it!! Ur on the right way ^^
Nah, he's using treecko. Torchic's in the thumbnail because that's what the rival chose. You can tell because you can see torchic's face in the thumbnail but in battle you can only see enemy Pokemons face.
If the Emerald challenges are done using an emulator, have you ever considered hacking in Rare Candies when you run out of time to grind for Steven? It would save you a lot of grinding and you would have already beaten the challenge, so Rare Candies wouldn't defeat the purpose of the challenge at that point. Especially since fighting Steven is just a matter of curiosity.
This was a very fun one, and it was quicker than I expected. I suppose that Gen 3 is pretty alright at preparing you for fights. Great video, glad to be here for the premiere!
Commenting for that Sweet TH-cam Algorithm! Good to see him do a run with one of my favorite starters. Edit: I must know which fossil you got Mr. Bread, I MUST KNOW!
I just thought of something for these “no new moves” runs. Its not against the rules to breed pokemon so you can technically breed some good pokemon with desirable egg moves if needed.
@@robertlupa8273 Yes, but "debatable" makes the phrase "it's not against the rules" false. It may not be against the rules, but to some people it's cheating.
Love your challenge runs, Mr. Bread! These especially have to take a lot of prior research, the dedication is on point. My suggestion is archen/archeops for black and white run! Absolutely hard hitting but your ability will prove a challenge! (Unless you don't do black and white runs, I haven't seen one yet)
First off, I really like these pokemon challenges. I look forward to seeing the next one every time. Secondly, is it just me or are they getting shorter? I saw that this was the one for this week and I was so excited because I thought it was going to be a nice long challenge like the other two no new move ones (25 and 27 minutes) but I was a little disappointed to see it was only 15 minutes long. I plan on continuing to watch these as they are pretty cool but I just miss longer challenges.
Always love seeing new challenge runs from you, MDB! How about a Pokemon challenge where you can only deal damage with variable damage moves? Return, Magnitude, Psywave, Beat Up, Spit Up, Rollout/Ice Ball, 2-to-5-hit moves, and all moves whose base damage is calculated by weight/Speed/HP. If that's too strict to be doable, then moves with a set base damage AND a special condition allowing double damage (Knock Off, Pursuit, Brine, Earthquake, Gust, Stomp, etc.) could also be allowed.
Something funny happened to me when I watched this video : At 10:44, just after MDB said "let's do this", I had an Ad starting by "Pegi 18"... maybe the elite 4 battle was so brutal that youtube put a warning before.
ManJTV has done the same challenge (though he allowed trade evos), but I still wonder how differently MDB will approach this. EDIT: Oh yeah, and he also allowed moves learnt when the 'mon had less than 4 moves.
...magnemite/magneton doesn't have LEVITATE? The pokemon that clearly hovers with magnetic powers isn't immune to Earthquake. That is weird and I'm surprised it didn't ever warrant mention in the video, especially after the second time you explicitly mention a ground-type move making your magneton useless.
Anyone notice his geodude has a modest(-atk+sp.atk) nature and carvana has a impish(-sp.atk+sp.def) So since geodude only make use of its physical so modest is a bad nature and carvana stabs are special till gen 3 and it get a -spatk nature
This was a really good shakeup to the formula. Also for nicknames, maybe compile a list fo viewers/sub/donators and anyone who supports you and use their names
I did a nuzlocke years back similar to this challenge. The rules were, ( on top of the regular nuzlocke rules): 1. Your Pokémon could only use the first 4 moves it learnt, or 4 moves it has when you catch it. 2. Your allowed to teach each Pokemon 1 TM. 2) Outside of HM Helpers, you can reach each of your Pokémon 1 HM. 3) If your Pokémon learns a move when evolving (like charizard learning wing attack), you can teach it that move. I think I named it a Movelocke.
So I know that you ran out of time to grind for Steven this week but I know I would really like to see you attempt those fights even if you don’t have time. I think you should be able to give yourself some rare candies to bridge the level gap in situations like this because grinding up levels just takes time, which is already limited! Great video as always!
Your videos inspired me to do my own run that I'd really like to see you do: Emerald with only Tyrogue. Tyrogue has even base stats across the board, so the EVs you get really matter in shaping your final stats. This makes you have to consider where you grind to get the right EVs, though it's not always easy since Tyrogue only knows tackle by level up. Tyrogue can learn some good TMs so you have to change your moveset quite a lot to get by (I was changing my moves mid elite four). It was a lot of fun for me and would love to see you do the run too.
Do this one: www.reddit.com/r/nchallenge/ In whatever Gen you like. So what is the N Challenge? Well, easy thing, you play Pokémon as N would do. This follows a few rules, collected from all the diffrent N Runs I have seen or read so far plus some I found helpful: You are only allowed to battle requiered trainers. No rematches, no wild battles for training. Gen 2 spinners are considered requiered, as it's hard to avoid them. Members of the evil team can be battled, even if they aren't requiered. They're the baddies after all. You can only use Pokémon out of the last route you had to pass through grass, water or a cave. If none of this is true, you are allowed to use Pokémon from the routes adjecent to the town with the next gym you have to battle. Don't use more Pokémon then the upcoming gym leader uses. No level restrictions. If you made your way to the E4 and the Champ, you are allowed to use the Pokémon of your last gym fight plus one legendary (preferably, but not neccessarily the box one) and up to two artifical Pokémon (fossils, Porygon, shinies). You have to release your teams after a gym fight. Exception are after the last gym battle (see above rule) and HM users needed to progress. HARD MODE If you want an extra challenge you can release your team after you lost an attempt against either a boss battle (hard) or any tainer (super hard). This way you don't have much level gain and the game gets significantly harder to beat. If you want to do that, go ahead.
I have an idea for a challenge. Can you be Pokemon Fire Red without evolving your Pokemon. You can set out the game but I did some interesting idea. Love your content please never stop making up
I'd love to see more runs like this. The strategy for full-team but still-restricted challenges tends to be a lot more interesting than the single Pomemon runs. Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of suggestions to that end. One I've been considering doing myself is Pokemon LeafGreen with no attacking moves; after you pick Bulbasaur and it learns Leech Seed, theoretically it's possible.
I think the full team runs are becoming my favorites. Where you actually get to evolve and strategize. The no new moves setting is perfect for it, but how about switching it up and do a „No STAB moves“ run? Could be cool to play around the types to not get hit hard while also gathering up type coverage in the offense
Can you beat Pokemon game with pokemons that weight less then 3 potatoes (~1kg, ~2.2lb)? In gen1 you have Gastly, Hunter, Diglett and Koffing. In gen2 you have Igglybuff, Misdreavus, Hoppip and Skiploom. Choose any game form gen 1 and 2 and pick whatever team you want. Can a featherweight team deal with MASSIVE Onixes and dragons?

I'm pretty sure he said somewhere that he's not even gonna do a Nuzlocke.
This might sound weird but I watch a lot of these when I'm stressed as background noise and they really calm me down in addition to always being interesting, so thanks for making so many. I appreciate all the effort you put in cus these challenges are tough!
If you ever feel useless, just remember that tms exist in this challenge
You can still sell them.
Yo i got a nice idea try this out!
Pokemon with mives of their type.
Examples are
Chimchar can use only fire moves
Salamence can use only dragon and flying moves.
Try it out if u find this interesting.
❤❤❤
Alternate title: can i beat pokemon with basically a flareon?
For grinding spots you can forever grind the interviewers in the double battle, and if you have somebody you want to focus level give them EXP share, their pokemon cap out at lvl 41 if i recall correctly, its easy money and easy XP becaus the exploud gives a lot of xp
Pokemon Emerald: NPC edition
Love it!!
That's what I thought in my last comment like we need another challenges like only one pokemon challenges! Like I said... Love it!! Ur on the right way ^^
Now for this challenge let’s have the TH-cam comments guess...
“Will Mdb ever play a heart gold or soulsilver challenge?”
Impossible challenge idea: Pokemon platinum with no attacking moves. Only things like Curse, Toxic, Leech Seed, etc
Just a guess, but I think he's going to use a torchic in this run.
Maaybe.
Nah, he's using treecko. Torchic's in the thumbnail because that's what the rival chose. You can tell because you can see torchic's face in the thumbnail but in battle you can only see enemy Pokemons face.
@@sand747 this is big brain time
You weren’t wrong but torchic’s time was short
He did, which he didn't use in the rock gym cos without fighting moves it's useless
9:18 is it just me or does wailord looks like kyogre here?
I can kinda see it
This was a very fun one, and it was quicker than I expected.
Bread, I MUST KNOW!
you forgot to ask which fossil he'll choose lol
@@felipemagalhaes2032 Woops, you're right!
He took the riverdale fossil
He already told u.
This is much better than solo runs
The grinding before the E4 in gen3 is always horrible
Great video! Keep up the good work! That was an interesting run!
Pokemon platinum with only one aipom!
This was really cool! I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
I just thought of something for these “no new moves” runs. Its not against the rules to breed pokemon so you can technically breed some good pokemon with desirable egg moves if needed.
"No glitches or exploits" - definitely exploiting.
@@louisvaught2495 Debateble.
Every time someone says "algorithm"... Do a barrel roll
This was a really fun one! Would be great to see other gens with this challenge
Sorry was it Root or Claw? You probably said it but I'm just double checking
Root. It was always Root.
@@robertlupa8273 Aww robert, you have much to learn!
Root
Helix fossil.
Comments are good for the youtube algorithm.
I think this is the first time I’m guessed you cannot win! Congrats on a truly painful run. I’m looking forward to watching it
Root Fossil is the best. Exhibit A: Steven
Anyway, requesting B2W2 with one Chinchou.
I think it's just that he knows more about the games, so he spends less time dithering on each video.
Love in this one you didn’t over level! Makes the run way more interesting and shows the skills! Love the videos brother
People who watch MandJtv: Ah yes I wonder
Always love seeing new challenge runs from you, MDB! How about a Pokemon challenge where you can only deal damage with variable damage moves? Return, Magnitude, Psywave, Beat Up, Spit Up, Rollout/Ice Ball, 2-to-5-hit moves, and all moves whose base damage is calculated by weight/Speed/HP. If that's too strict to be doable, then moves with a set base damage AND a special condition allowing double damage (Knock Off, Pursuit, Brine, Earthquake, Gust, Stomp, etc.) could also be allowed.
I hate the fact people dislike the video when they didn't even watch it
It's probably because premiers are kind of annoying and can't be filtered from your feed.
I disliked
@@okidosapper Why?
Am i delusional or did the video only come out 3 hours ago? How on earth did you manage to comment 22 hours ago?
@@NatHan-lw7le he premieres it 24 hours in advance. You can't watch it but it's still in your feed.
good run mdb!
theory: he mispronounces words on purpose, since comments are good for the youtube algorithm
When did he mispronce anything here

Great video as always MDB! I really like the "no new moves" challenges.
I've been asking forever for Pokemon emerald with 1 Spheal. 😭😭😭 Plssss do.
Hey, don't cry.
Something funny happened to me when I watched this video :
At 10:44, just after MDB said "let's do this", I had an Ad starting by "Pegi 18"... maybe the elite 4 battle was so brutal that youtube put a warning before.
yes you more than likely can beat it with no new moves...
VIDEO OVER
ManJTV has done the same challenge (though he allowed trade evos), but I still wonder how differently MDB will approach this.
This is “Pokémon ,play like a 8 year old edition”
It would be more "Yes, replace old attack this new one, regardless of what it is"
@@b.clarenc9517 and also use a TM immediately no matter what it is.
@@PeteofHartainia no no putting all HMs on one mon

Anyone notice his geodude has a modest(-atk+sp.atk) nature and carvana has a impish(-sp.atk+sp.def) So since geodude only make use of its physical so modest is a bad nature and carvana stabs are special till gen 3 and it get a -spatk nature

Another No New Moves one. Awesome. I love the ones with expanded teams but a fun twist like this.
This was a really good shakeup to the formula. Also for nicknames, maybe compile a list fo viewers/sub/donators and anyone who supports you and use their names
I did a nuzlocke years back similar to this challenge. The rules were, ( on top of the regular nuzlocke rules):
This is my favorite kind of challenge. The normal use a bad pokemon videos are great to bit I love the interesting strats these use.
NICE MDB!! I love this types of challenges! My favorites are “no new moves” and “no free heal”. Thanks from a brazilian fan!!
This was quite interesting. Nice to see more then just one pokemon!!
5:26 nice hp
Do this one: www.reddit.com/r/nchallenge/
In whatever Gen you like.
So what is the N Challenge? Well, easy thing, you play Pokémon as N would do. This follows a few rules, collected from all the diffrent N Runs I have seen or read so far plus some I found helpful:
You are only allowed to battle requiered trainers.
HARD MODE
If you want an extra challenge you can release your team after you lost an attempt against either a boss battle (hard) or any tainer (super hard). This way you don't have much level gain and the game gets significantly harder to beat. If you want to do that, go ahead.
My fav part about these vids is turning on captions and seeing what it comes up with. Usually it's madurai bred butt today it was Madrid brett
Great work as always MDB!
love the content Mud-Rye-Beard keep it up man!
Would be cool to see a run where you have to forget a move when a new move is available. Maybe in order of last learned. Love the show :)
My favourit kind of run. Its more creative than your usual 1 Pokemon Team Run.
Both are great though :)
