The developers of the area have been offering to buy shantytown just below your condo for the longest time, but the homeowners just won't sell.. that's the reason why you have this disparity in the zone..

I'm not sure about the slums near your condo Airbnb but the area up ahead without the tall buildings might be Taguig's residential areas, not necessarily slums, just low to middle income households.

The condo is nice 😊 but the balcony railing is not safe for children.
Hello from Manila. Glad you enjoyed your stay here in the Philippines. If you will be staying for a couple of months on your next visit, you can rent a condo unit on a short term basis like 3 to 4 months. The monthly rate will be cheaper than air bnb. Stay safe.
It is not slums. Those are the old Manila houses. BGC was part of Port Bonifacio, a military camp and a cemetery. Since the port land area was massive they develop it into a modern city that is BGC now.
Pang slums kasi site dev ng area. Halos dikit dikit na. kanila anglalaki ng bahay malalaki din lote. Ginulat siya. hahahaha.

I think you didn't full enjoy your trip in the Philippines because your in a rush hope you will have more time.
There are other condominiums to choose from in BGC and Makati area

That's the sad story the gap between poor and rich is very obvious and I just hope the Government will have a lasting solutions. I'm glad you enjoy your visit in the Philippines it's better to visit Philippines on December to February it's not that hot.
Sadly, the government would only have a lasting solution to that rich-poor gap IF it benefits them.

Some of us, when you're within the region (NCR), we would call specific towns where we are because when you said you're in Manila and showing BGC then you should say you are in BGC, same goes when you are in Makati. "Manila" term at this point is when you are actually in Manila area (Old Manila). I don't know if that's how everybody does it but for most people I know who grew up here this is how we distinguish location. Also as an inside joke, BGC is more of like a separate country at it's own as it feels like it's a complete different environment. I'm glad you enjoyed your short stay, and happy to hear you're coming back for more. Looking forward to your future contents and explore the rest of the Philippines! 😊
