Except everything he says is "nonsensical talk". I recommend just Googling "chiropractor" and reading the first paragraph on Wikipedia.
Chiropractors are NOT doctors. They are scammers. Just read the Wikipedia page. It's not difficult - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiropractic

@@nweston4957I wouldn't press on the knees. Note the padding Dr. Rowe put down. I also do different stretches for this almost daily. Varying them might be more protective. I don't do cobra ones because of my lumbar back problems.

This simple stretch is great for maintaining improvements I achieved from my chiropractor who used ART(active release technique) to stretch my psoas muscles. If you have sciatica or lower back pain that hasn't been fully responding to PT and/or injections, try this. It made a big difference for me. Many therapists and doctors don't consider targeting the psoas muscle and for me it was a significant contributing factor to my pain.

The reason you feel this stretch more at the hip flexors with your knees bent is because you're actually mainly stretching the rectus femoris this way. This way you limit the ROM in which you could've stretched the psoas more..

So I've given iliopsoas isometrics for people who have a locked lumbar from sitting far too long.
I've given the stretch exercise as, "Do cobra stretch on floor, legs flat, and try to push thighs + hips into floor for 7 seconds, relax, 2-5 second break, stretch further, repeat 3-5× total."
Using this method, I've found that queueing flexion in the femur and not the hip can lead to psoas not being activated, thusly not really getting stretched. Of course, if done right, they try to push their hip into the floor with their femur and it works.
Your version seems to be queueing knee extension. Are you assuming hip flexion will come with that once a cobra stretch is applied? Feel free to give as much detail as you like :)
P.S. I was taught clinical massage, which includes most/all of basic rehab theory, but is not as in-depth as a physiotherapist. I taught myself the psoas isometric/PNF I use.
P.S.S. I need to add that massage therapists legally do not prescribe rehab

Oh my goodness I did this for two days in a row
My back was hurting so bad but no pain no gain
I’m gonna do this every day until I feel loose in the goose🫶🏼🎉

What if you do this and you don’t feel this in your hips but feel it more in your quads? Does that mean the lower back pain might not be due to psoas issues?

I think this is causing si joint pain for me. Am I doing something wrong? Or maybe the psoas isn’t my issue?
