If Abby gave her more solos that displayed technique over tricks, and worked on that with her one to one like she did with Maddie, Mackenzie could’ve been just as good. That’s why Maddie was so good, Abby worked with her one to one

it's ridiculous! She's her own person, and it's gotta be so hard hearing that all the time. especially since Maddie and Mackenzie are so different. also hearing Abby say "you're a disappointment" and "go be with the minis."
I understand how Mckenzie feels because my older sister has always been the best dancer at our studio and I've always felt like I've been in her shadow. I can't count how many time's I've been called, "Milena's little sister". I'm like I have a name
I think that’s why Mackenzie cried. She felt like Abby loved her sister and her dancing better than her. Mackenzie is NOT Maddie! She is still a great dancer, in a different way. All Abby had in mind was winning the competitions and by doing that, she gave Maddie special treatment for years since Maddie won her the competitions a lot. That’s probably why Abby compared the other girls to Maddie, even Mackenzie.

And I love that moment where christi gave kenzie a lil pep talk before performing cry I think, (I also hate how Abby tried to make her like Maddie and not allowing her to grow into her own person) and even kenzie said herself "I don't have the Maddie face I have the kenzie face" (don't quote me on that im not 100% sure that's what she said but ik its smth similar) and I was so happy for her acknowledging that for herself but I can't fathom how depriving hearing that must be. having to live up to an expectation of ur sister because she was the only star in Abby's eyes. she really is, this doesnt show it but she used to make the girls weigh themselves at the studio and post it on the wall. Like all Abby does is sit on a chair and shout, Gianna makes all the routines and the girls preform them.

If Abby says that Mackenzie isn’t doing her routine well, then Abby should be able to get up on that couch and do it perfectly. With ZERO mistakes

Exactly! I have 3 daughter's, two of them twins and they are all great at their own things, they have their own interests. I honestly believe this clip is 100% why Maddie doesn't keep in touch with Abby. She was jealous Maddie became a star and wasn't giving her credit for it so she took it out on Mackenzie and she badmouthed Maddie ("If she wasn't a dancer -- a.k.a. on the docu-series I got her on -- she wouldn't be making movies 'cause that's how Sia found her, discovered her, and put her on the map.") Every artist wants to have people in their lives cheerleading them in a world full of rejection. Abby was too upset that things were going well for Maddie and somehow it didn't launch her to A-list status as a result.

@@eily106red8 The reason most of the original team didn't become good dancers is because they didn't work hard enough. Abby was a good teacher. However whether someone becomes a good dancer is the combination of a good teacher and the student herself also needs to be responsible. Maddie had that responsibility and she turned into a great dancer.
@@maryeverett2266 the original team didn’t become good dancers because the show traumatized them so much they quit dancing all together, for example Brooke,Chloe, Paige, and Kendall doesn’t dance as much as they used to and they said they wouldn’t go back to dancing do to the trauma.

Why is it that after the applause Abby is happy with the performance and she’s smiling and clapping and all woohoo and then when they don’t get first she’s livid and like I told u so like wutttt
I expect it’s because Abby thought she would’ve scored higher and once she found out the results, she was mad. Abby didn’t even care about the girls or their dancing, she just cared about their scores and the studio reputation.

I honestly feel sorry for these kids. Abby really said "MACKENZIE, WHY DON'T YOU REMEMBER THAT?! YOU ARE SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!" *i felt so sorry for mackenzie in that moment. i would not have been able to hold myself together in that moment. fr.*
Anyone else notice how Abby seemed totally happy right after the performance and was smiling and cheering, and it was only when the judge pointed out the ankles that she got unhappy. Abby is supposed to know so much about dance and can tell if someone doesn’t have perfect technique, yet she doesn’t notice the ankles until the judge points it out and then jumps on and makes a huge deal about it acting like her ankles were the most obviously horrible thing ever. I really don’t think she even noticed Mackenzie’s ankles and got super mad because she’s compensating for the fact that she couldn’t pick up on the subtleties of Mackenzie’s technique like the judge could.
