Similar handicap player here. Nothing wrong with a 3/4 length backswing. Thought you looked a bit stiff and wooden though. Helped me a lot loosening up and following through fully at the end, even with wedges. As for the wedges. Practise Practise and more Practise and go higher loft for softer roll outs if you play fast greens and fully commit. You look a tidy player for a 20 handicap and can only come down. Thanks for posting 👍
Thanks, David. Fortunately, I've been able to limit penalty strokes more this year in the past which has been helpful. I need to definitely take some time before my rounds to get not just the speed of the green but some touch around the green too. Cheers!
I play about a 12 handicap and struggle with similar areas of the game, especially those close chips. I took basic lessons when I was young from a pro and he taught me that to hit a good chip, 1. Use the right lofted wedge - I prefer a 58-60 degree, even 56 if the ball is lying above the grass, when I’m off or just off the green. 2. With the face of the club open, always to swing through. This way is more comfortable and easier to gauge power. 3. Practice! Get a feel for your chipping swing. Try different lies, grass cuts to really tune how much power is needed. Of course that’s just me and how I play my wedge game. Grasp the basics, figure out what works for you!
I've been working on the 56 just off the green with some help from a buddy and it has been *moderately* successful, the 60 is still a bit too much club for me haha. I'm a bit too nervous to try in round. I'll try to open the face a bit during my warm up the next few rounds, it's always nerve racking to swing through when you only need 5 yards. 🙃 Thanks for watching, will put those tips into practice, Ellis!
Great score for an early round - helped that the big dawg was behaving off the deck. Hopefully with the new driver you’ll be able to put a more natural swing on the ball from the tee box!
Well done! You seem really comfortable with the gap wedge, but perhaps getting more comfortable with a 50-60 degree wedge would give you the check back you talked about, especially as the greens dry up.
@@blunderboysgolf Yeah, I was gonna say the same as boots, although I feel comfortable with my 60 degree… but I’d definitely switch from a gap wedge to a sand (56) or lob (60) for those type of shots for sure!
@@jtruchero do you have any tips on hitting that 60 degree around the green? People have recommended opening the face, swinging through and keeping weight forward. also do you only hit it from a nice fluffy lie? I always seem to chunk my 56 around the green 🙃 thanks for watching Jorge!
Relax you are very tense throughout your whole swing which is causing your inconsistencies and not allowing your wrists to hinge letting your hands release at the bottom of your swing causing slices, fat shots etc.
Too much leg movement on the irons, the front foot shouldnt really be coming off the ground it creates too much room for error and inconsistent shots. also wrapping too much around the back instead of at top which can be fixed by keeping your left arm more tucked on the backswing
Thank you for the tips, Phancy! I need to keep thinking back elbow tucked during take away, that's a good call. With the wrapping at the top is that the same as being steep in my swing? Is there something during the takeaway I should be visualizing or thinking?
Hey golfers! Any tweaks for my 3/4 swing? Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Definitely excited to use the driver more moving forward. Hoping it leads to lower scores 🤞
Dan flashes, theyre expensive because the patterns are so complicated!
You see a store with 50 guys that look just like me and you go in. Yes. You. Do. Thanks for watching, glad someone noticed 😂

Thanks Boots! The 56 is my next goal to work on short shots around the green. I have a 60 degree wedge but never use it.
@@blunderboysgolf Keep 60° at home in garage...Will get you into more trouble than good.
The 60 has been hit

Have you tried that in the past? Would be interested to see if the virtual "lessons" helped

Thanks for the tips Dustin! I'll try to add some wrist motion at the range and see how that feels. Thanks for watching!
