It's been over 3 years since she died, and I still cry when I see this. Those 3 were the best, and they all knew how to speak tranquil words to troubled hearts, one song at a time. We lost a heluva lot when we lost Mary. So wise, so wonderful, so beautiful, so powerful was her voice in such a way that it still resonates and strikes that wonderful chord in everyone's heart.
Thank you so very much to Peter, Paul, and Mary, such talented troopers who gave us all so much pleasure over so many years. And thanks too for the wonderful technology courtesy of TH-cam that we can re-live all the wonderful memories yet again, day after day.
I saw her. I mean I saw Peter, Paul and Mary at the Berkeley Community Theatre. I don't remember what year it was. My mom took me as I was a little girl then. I still remember how her blonde hair was constantly in motion as she swayed to the beat, the emotion of the songs. It was beautiful. ✌️❤️
Growing up in Greenwich Village in the 60's I remember Peter Paul and Mary walking around the neighborhood with guitars.'' slung on their back. They would stop and talk with us kids and just kind of hang out for a while and play some tunes. Just regular young people who happened to be getting famous. But they were so down to earth, and even then I realized they truly cared. I especially loved Mary. Her kindness just radiated. I guess I had a boyhood crush. When I heard of her passing I thought back to those wonderful days. Before the big rock star. When musicians really cared about what they sang about The music of Peter Paul and Mary was not only beautiful, but it meant something to so many of us. and it helped define who we really are as a nation.. RIP Mary Travers
She will be missed :( im 12 years old i loved her singing, and my sister heather is 9.. my aunt showed us her songs.. and my sister knows all her sister by heart the first time she heard it.. she fell in love with the songs
My all time favorite group & their songs. I lost count how many times I saw them in concert. Met them after one of their first concerts in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mary invited me to touch her hair...it felt like fine corn silk. She noted that she could not keep a curl of any kind. ALL 3 so talented & dynamite together!❤
Some gave none, some gave some, and some gave all-including their lives. Peter, Paul and Mary always gave all they had, to all of the world. They made a difference, make a difference, and will always impact the way the world looks at themselves and others. Some heard what they had to say, but some would not listen. With their songs, they brought out the message of history..."Those that ignore History are doomed to repeat it". Some lead, some follow, but some are wise. Thank you PP&M.
Like the man said, you start to think about your own mortality when your heroes, people you grew up with lighting the way are dying off. It's a shame the at era ever had to end. RIP Mary T.
Fall 1963 I was 8 yrs old and my mom took me to see them. My first concert ever and just a few years ago I discovered part of their live album released the next year was recorded that night here in Terre Haute, IN. Made a big impression on me... went on and worked as a keyboard player for 25+ years in Nashville.
I miss them. They were great and seeing them skip on stage with , Mary's hair flowing like silk they were infectious. RIP Mary 💔 you were a gift to the world with your many talents.
a true troubadour, mary set the standard. we would not have the peace movement we do today without the true pioneers like, peter, paul & mary, bob Dylan, joan baez, and the list goes on. sleep well mary. 72 is not quite the ripe old age we all dream of, but you had a hell of a run. what you did for us all will nev er be forgotten. may you sleep with the angels, mary. you sang like one for all those decades. I miss you. thank you & farewell
Absolutely fantastic voice. I was fortunate to meet them at Griffiths Park in LA. The Brownie Troop i was in is on the cover of one of their 45s and sheet music. I will always remember that day. Forever my favorite group.
I just ran across this video while researching a song, and was touched by it......maybe feeling some of my own mortality, since I grew up listening to PP&M. I saw Mary Travers live in 1980 at a folk festival concert along with some other folk icons of the early 60's. Good Lord, did she have the pipes!
She was a beautiful woman who with Peter and Paul sang of fight for peace and love. In this world we still have wars killing or kids in different lands to wars on our streets Some day i hope we will have peace and love with all nations and people in every town in American .
Bye Mary, Probablly i see you soon on the heaven !!! And thank you for all beautiful songs, and thank you GOD for All times of Mary walking and singin so perfect ... Many years ago I heard PP&M were performing in Las Vegas. I had seen them live in Australia three times and thought for old time’s sake I would like to see them one more time and take the kids along to let them hear and see the iconic group I grew up with. So I booked tickets from Sydney to LV and within a month I found out the concerts were cancelled. I sent an email to their PR group asking what was going on and what was the rescheduling outlook. I got a reply they didn’t know. It turns out that I would never see them ‘live’ as a group again. But I still can access their music on TH-cam plus my LPs and CDs ( remember them?) RIP Mary Travers.
I met Mary twice, both times by happenstance. She was warm, welcoming, unaffected, kind, and gracious in every way. And their music... oh, their music... I think someone described them as an angel with two cellos. The rich, intricate harmonies, so perfect and joyous they made it look easy. Best ever.
The last time I saw PP&M was at a concert in Atlanta many years ago. Mary had to sit through most of the performsnce, but her voice was still strong. She had one of the most distinctive voices in music. Thank you, Mary Travers!
while with my boss in new york city,we saw them in a horn and hardock coffie shop.i was 12 yrs old,she smeled and acted like the most wornderful lady,i had ever goten close too.i was in love, with a stranger, and never got over it.
Mary Travers era un mito assieme a Peter &Paul: giusta commemorazione per chi credeva ancora in qualcosa di buono per l'umanità! Si è chiusa un epoca di grandi speranze.
I CELEBRATED MARY TRAVERS ALL DAY YESTERDAY!!! OUR PLANET NEEDS TO SING LIGHT ONE CANDLE 🕯️..... DON'T LET THE LIGHT GO OUT! I COULD HEAR PPM RIP MARY TRAVERS....
I watched their performance of Blowing In The Wind on a Jack Benny Show video. Mary's performance brought tears to my eyes and so many other performances as well. She will truly be missed.
My favorite song is Leaving on a Jet Plane by Peter, Paul, and Mary. It was years before I realized it was written by my favorite singer, Henry John Deutschendorf - John Denver.
I started my guitar play in 1970.. and P P & M songs had that effervescent flow chords music style. I STILL play Puff majic dargon at times! upon request

My wife says that's such a sad death of a lovely woman, who wanted an end to inequality. We're all one colour to God and that's exactly the way it should be. Thank you Mary. Thank you for telling your generation about love and peace. May the angels have you singing in harmony with them x
I was at the library next to my house reading french rock and folk magazine. in the first pages there is always an article called r.i.p. where they list singers who have died. i had tears in my eyes. That day it was the first time i was crying for someone that i never met. rip mary
Robert Lewis Stevenson once said that "love makes us believe in immortality because there seems not room enough in life for so great a tenderness and it is inconceivable that the most masterful of our emotions should have no more than the spare moments of a few brief years."
