The wood is a part that is meant to wear out so that the metal doesn’t so once it does wear out you need to replace it so that the metal under it doesn’t wear away.
Nice bit of kit, and there's nothing better than a genuine word of mouth review. It speaks volumes that you were so pleased with the old muck spreader that you replaced it with the exact same model. Also great that you are not shy of pointing out a few not so good points.
Ahh yes those lovely rotary spreaders cheap to buy and cheap to repair but a rigjt bugger if you have string or plastic sheet in the dung (which I'm sure you don't) nice one Rich it's always nice to have a new bit of kit I think it cheers things up around the farm
We've got a Marshall fuel bowser at work. We had a spreader also, if memory serves it was a big one with twin axles. Boss sold it in favour of a great big rear discharge type.
The best way to clean a side discharge muck spreader is, once ur done spreading fill it with water and leave it ticking over obviously with the tractor and pto on, go have ur lunch come back and it will be as new then empty it and clean the outside
I saw a digger and a vibrating roller, in the back ground. Also a pile of hard core so I guess your building something or doin some repairs. Good spreader thier and hoping to see some kind of construction videos soon.
Before you use it spray it with old oil, good coat all over protect the metal and paint, when you've finished using it knock the big lumps off, will last much longer, clean it properly as many times a year as you can or before it's left sat for a long time 👌
The wood lip you referred to on your last muck spreader video is in case the chains stretch and the flails will hit the wood that can be replaced and not damage the main body of the spreader.
It will never look like that again, did you get a good trade in? I guess those cow are still making money. Nice to see a brand new machine on the farm.
@@user-cx2rr6ce7y I dont live on a farm anymore, i used to work on a farm out in Aberdeenshire called Scotpigs, have you heard of Arthur Simmers before?
I will have to agree with you on what you've said there about Marshall and their spares department, they are brilliant indeed if not the best when it came to helping my neighbour's spreader 👍 and as far as I know it's still family owned and run by the son. Interesting of what they have done to the rotor especially the flail head's. 🤔 I think Farmer P should use it first since you've dirtyed his trailer with 💩
Considering the old one still worked fine just a bit battered up I'm surprised to see you've replaced it for the same one. I assumed you changed to for a upgrade. Seems like you could have just kept on with the old one?
No different person altogether. The guy who owned Marshall tractors was Charles Nickerson He bought the Leyland tractor division in Bathgate and transported back production to his factory in Gainborough.
you will be able to open lid now when loading it . next purchase is pressure washer to keep it clean lol
Just run it through the local car wash once a week. Lol.
Nice to here the Norton is paying its way. 👍

Spot on. It's sacrificial and easy to replace.

Well wear Richard with the new spreader. Lovely machine!

We had one similar to that style once here in the states. Always had to be sure of wind velocity and direction when using!

The wood prevents denting the metal with the loader 😉
You beat me to it I was just about to say that lol
No u
@@burffarms5957 me too😂
Great vid funky farmer the muck spreader is looking good top vid

bit of work on the yard. good spot

Mate, did you see their old one? It never got washed once lol
Entertaining video. Great Job. Pop in past if you’re in Aberdeen and we will give you tour of the Factory where you’re spreader was built.
I would love to visit but unlikely I'll get that far. Off to Edinburgh in a couple of weeks though
The wood lip you referred to on your last muck spreader video is in case the chains stretch and the flails will hit the wood that can be replaced and not damage the main body of the spreader.
Love when you chat about farm equipment. Would love to see you do another project on the farm.....

We have one of them, the MF 3095 pull it great
So new and lovely shiny red paintwork, seems a shame to put muck in it. 😆
We recently bought a kverneland 3232MN mower from lister wilder
Great stuff, very fresh looking machine
Nice piece of kit, health to wear!
Another brilliant video Richard lovely bit of kit
Yes the charles marshall trailers is still a running company they are about 25 miles away from me up in aberdeenshire
You dont live too far from me then, i live about 5 mile away from Marshall's
@@daviec2706 i live up in rothie
Im just outside Inverurie
@@daviec2706 oh cool what sort of farm or machinery do you run?

He really loves free stuff 😆
Wood is to minimize damage from loading😉
Yes so he wont have to weld a bit of a gate on it 😃😃
K.A Agri put a bit of wooden fence/gate on it on it this time
I think they would like to here that you have that trailer they have clean trailer for going to shows and it is a family company
Congratulations on you new poop flinger. As a Dane I will always advocate to buy a Samson of course ; )
Hi love the vid I live be side marshals trailers and to answer your question marshals is a family business keep up the good work
if you were being fussy you should swap the wheels round so tread is right way? excellent looking spreader - see if it lasts as long as the trailer?
They put the tyre's that way so that they close up tractor tyre mark's .
OOO fancy :) enjoy it especially when you can’t buy new machinery all the time
Richard its obvious where Harry get's it from :-)
It is still family owned there just next to use they have a number of farms in the area to
The sticker said its a lister welder we get thing from there sometimes
Did you put some sluury on the grass land
Great vid looks good think the wood is to stop damage from loader and muck I don't like the new chain cover as you said
I think the wood is there so you smash that with the bucket of the tractor instead of the steel. Wood is cheap to replace the steel isn’t.
The wood is to take the beating from the chains when they come back around.
Keep it clean will look after itself

Farmer P could use your old one, help to get his grass growing 💩💩💩🤔
It will be better than his Howard 👍🔧🔩
Great video lovely muck spreader you should keep it in a shed
Good video need to see it working next
Best a luck with it give it a Cote of new engen oil and petrol mix spray it aun it leave a shine aun it b easier cleaned
Good video Richard 👍
Love the vids I have 750 cows
Charlie Marshall is the owner still going strong
MrDavyk he Died last year
Isnt that wood down the front to stop damage by the loader, when loading.
Love your wellies
Great stuff
I would suggest a pressure washer would help them last longer lol
Yes is
Considering the old one still worked fine just a bit battered up I'm surprised to see you've replaced it for the same one. I assumed you changed to for a upgrade. Seems like you could have just kept on with the old one?
The old ones done 16 years and won't do another 16. This one should see me out
Can't argue with that :) Thanks for sharing
Its easy to take the lights off just twist the conector and undo the bolts
Just try to hose it off after every use should help this one last longer than the old one
why did you pick that style spreader over a box and apron chain style?
works well; for us
Great video
The wood is because that part wares out very easy so the wood can be changed for not as much money as metal
Well wear
Please keep this one clean rich 👍😂
no chance
Well wear 👍 nice looking spreader to be fair. They don't get an easy life on any farm. Cow sh### and steel don't agree 😂
nice spreader
The wheel that u showed us was put on the wrong way round.
Great Video. Are you not on Twitter ?
i am but don't use it
Wash it when your done and don't park it full off shite fill it with slurry tank off water and spin it out.
The tires treads are on backwards
It’s for a smoother ride and the spreader doesn’t need the grip anyway.
Hate them dirty things. Old krone or JF rear discharge muck spreaders were better. Hold more too. And a good spread
Nice 👍🏻
Is it just me or are those tires on the wrong way round?
Yes them are the wrong way round
Should of got a hispec spreader far better and made stronger than a Marshall
was thinking the same also .........
My surname is Marshall
Keep it clean lol
Take the clip off the old spreader and put it in new 1
هل تريد ان اعمل معك في المزرعه
fary good
was this brand new
TITAN GAMES 54 yes I think so
I wonder if that's the same company that took over Leyland tractors and built marshal tractors
