I work with the Green party legislation committee and I can tell you one good thing, they will never hear me shut up on trans rights. Butch Ware, Brianna Joy Grey and the Answer coalition are history as far as this party is concerned.

We need to institute positive rights, asking what rights trans people lack is ignoring the fact that rights that wouldn't affect cis people do affect trans people. In some states it is not legal for trans people to change their gender on documentation and in many cases trans people are denied legal name changes explicitly because they're trans, even when cis people can change their name without issue. That's just one example of a positive right that needs instituting, the legal right to amend official documents.

Had to look up some numbers like when she said trans people were 2% of the population that sounded really high, and yeah maybe she was rounding up from 1.1, which seems small in comparison to lots of other things like the childbirth mortality rate of black women. I disagree with so much of what the guest said. Had to look up some numbers like when she said trans people were 2% of the population that sounded really high, and yeah maybe she was rounding up from 1.1, which seems small in comparison to lots of other things like the childbirth mortality rate of black women. So not against trans people but confused as to why it gets so much political bandwidth
Because no one is arguing if black women even exist, let alone if they should exist.

Is this because of lack of social pressure? Or because both parties care mostly about corporate issues and little else? I bet the USA have way more homeless than trans people

Unless it actually forces the dems to support healthcare, what’s the point in getting riled up just to take no action? Just to suggest no specific action? There would be a point to riling people up about the rep party if it would actually lead to a more equitable health system - but nothing indicates that bland support of the other side is going to deliver that. So for most people i think its fair for them to view the parties as largely equal
