Been chasing ancestors and all their paper since the early 90s. Tried a number of ways to make a system accessible and therefore useful. I'm absorbing what you said and thinking about it, and I think I may have found the system that makes sense to me.. Thank you !!!

Excellent simple presentation about how to organize your genealogy - the right way!

I thought this was excellent, a refreshing change from the people who wish they were game show hosts. I want to be informed, not entertained. If any presentation starts "Heeeey!!! Guuuuuyyyzzzz!!!!" I move on straight away. And also I really don't want to see presenters at all unless they are easy on the eye. Thanks James, I'm here for the content, not the presentation.

An organizational system should be even more simplified than this. Use description file names rather than numbers. If the reference to the numbers is ever lost, the organization become useless. Instead, call things what they are.

I like this system, however think that organizing should be alphabetical, not numerical within a type of document.

How do you organize documents you have that “might” be family but you don’t know yet.

Thank you for this! It was very helpful. Can I use Family Search as my primary online resource or should I use a program separate from Family Search?

Lottie I won't put a copy of my birth certificate on a website or anybody from my family. Geez we have enough trouble with scammers.

The voice part of the video is very monotone. Needs to be more informal, more "lively". The voice drops, naturally at the end of a sentence, but just in expression, not in terms of loud or soft. I feel it needs more projection as if talking to a real audience. I love reading the blog, Genealogy's Star, but the presentation, here, is a little dull and unexciting.

I had hopes for this. But I couldn't get past the monotone presentation. Sorry, but boring...
