I really appreciate you showing us the different attempts and how you were able to identify the issues and what was causing them. Very motivating to actually go out there and try do shit.
The tip here for good adhesion is spray the dash and cloth separate from one another and let the adhesive get tacky, then you apply the cloth to the dash.
Man crazy how much work you put in! Sorry your first few tries were crap but Plan Number C came out dooooope! Love that you showed us the failed attempts and then persevering, dash looks awesome mounted!
Currently have an uncracked dash in my 240sx and god forbid the day it cracks but this is such a super clean, cheap and simple fix that all the anxiety I've had over the years thinking of my dash cracking is almost gone.
I might be late to this but I used the same fabric for my panels , this summer cooked it up good and left it a tan brown yellow we’re the sun hit hard and literally ripped it off with no force
nice solution! im adapting a s13 dashboard in a datsun s110 so this solution came to me perfectly because i need to extend some parts to fit well in mi chassis... i love this channel!
That dash is probably polypropylene plastic. Annoying as hell to get anything to adhere to it. My Altezza TRD bumper is made of this. Had a rip I needed to take care of and it was a nightmare. But I got a tip from bro. Drill holes around were you want it to adhere (in your case that might be a around the dash). Get some fiberglass mesh tape and stick it to the back of the object where you drilled the holes. Now add your bondo or fiberglass resin. This way the adhesive attaches and anchors itself into the object (dash or bumper), and creates a mechanical bond to the object. Worked for me. Hope it helps.
That is awesome! I might have to do this to my 260z. If you know theyre just like a 240sx.. cracked! Lol. And they’re expensive to get it redone. So taking all the foam off (weight reduction) and did what you did seems good to do.

Nice job, way to keep trying.
One thing to note, in my experiences black fleece will fade quickly from sunlight. Hopefully you will have better luck.

Thank you for this video. I've been undecided on how I wanted to fix my dash situation and now I know where to start!
What is the link to the material you finished with. I want to do my doors like that

I’ve been watching you since the Le Drift car vids. Feels good man
Great solution !!
Accidentally stabbed myself on the calf taking the foam off and had to get stitches 🤣🤣 remember boys cut away not toward you 🤣🤣
Looks super clean
If you just read the instructions for the bondo and the fiber glass and the spray adhesive 😂
You made a mistake on all of them!

you are suppose to let the spray adhesive tack off my guy.. so its not wet and sticky to touch
when he weighed the scraps, hahaha. I just got my first crack after 16 years. Prob gonna do the coverlay route when it gets worse
240sx ASMR foam peeling =nice.
cool
A thin layer of foam padding would have been a good base as well before the fabric. Overall it looks 💯% better. Thanks for sharing
nice outcome!
you should get the street faction v2 door cards
WJP004 is who you want to watch for fibreglassing, he'll set you straight
You should make the fibreglass Dash and sell them🤔
good work
The body filler peeled because it didn't appear to be plastic body filler which is made only for plastic
Should have sent it out to carbonworkz he does a carbon s13 dash although not cheap carbon dash sounds dope asf
