The ability to make a brew in yhe field is vitaly important, no mater how wet, cold, tired, hurting etc get a brew on, and as the brew goes down yer neck your moral starts to come up. But seriously a cuppa can be a real moral boost to the lads whdn you are in the field. Much better than energy drinks, i dont matter if you are a coffee drinker before hou join up we will convert you into a tea drinker.

Range Tea, in the big urns, was always a bit of a lottery Downunder. I never liked coffee as a young digger and sadly too often they would send out two urns of coffee instead of one of tea and one of coffee. And then the was the hybrid stuff that was neither one thing nor the other; the buggers hadn't cleaned the urn properly. I was on mess duties one time and took the smoko out to the range. Two big urns and a couple of trays of cake cut into squares. I had made the brew so I made sure the tea was spot on. Coffee, however, wasn't my forte as I didn't drink the stuff. An officer came along in the line and put his cups, canteen, steel under the coffee urn and drew a cupfull; took a sip and spat it out. He looked at me and said; "This coffee tastes like mud, Sapper Gamsby!" without thinking I replied as my old Dad had taught me with; "Well it was only ground this morning, sir." Which got a good laugh and nearly a couple of extras but the CSM didn't like that particular rupert so I was sweet.

LMAO....put the tea into the cold water and bring to boil, simmer for 2 minutes....stand for 3 until cool enough to drink..NO sugar and NO milk. That is real tea our way. Stay well, stay safe, Helen and Katarin Juska-Law and Terri with Robyn.

Thought army tea was 1× Norwegian container 2× Packs of cheap tea fill with hot water 2:46 2:46 stir with ladle then pure in 2× tins of condensed milk army have had the recipe for years and they still can't make a decent cup of tea was drinking the shite for 22 years only way to get a good brew is do it yourself.
