I love that people prefer the AU where the Gaunts are like the Blacks but higher standards and even richer since they have Salazar and one of the deathly hollows. The Gaunts are hella smart and actually Slitherins children. The very ideal Slitherin student. Cunning, ambitious, smart, etc. I feel like J.K. Could have done a lot more with the family and this really gives it that pureblood punch. Nah but Tom would still be very set up in the Gaunt Estate and in the House of Gaunt being the Heir of Slitherin. The Grandson or Marvolo and thought to be the GreatNephew of Ominis.
@@Oceansouls uh, I have a very different image of the Gaunts. From all the families, I think they should have been the most nuts, like the Sawyer family, but in Wizarkind version. Being all inbreed, their mental stability would have been poor, probably leading to violence and impulsive actions that made them lose their wealth. Of course, they were not always living in the filth. Merope and Morphin also lacked magical education, but it’s very probable that Marvolo did have, like Ominis. By the time Tom was born, the combo of no magical ed + poverty + mental issues would have been a very toxic environment to grow in, especially if they know he is the son of a muggle. I think this version can go dark quickly, but it’s the Gaunts 🤭
I am now heavily invested in this storyline! Tom being raised by his father is a scenario that has always tickled my brain not only because Tom Sr is an older replica of his ridiculously gorgeous son 💚 imagine those two standing over you together 🔥🥵 I swear Mondays have turned into my favourite day of the week! 🎉

Yes! They did, but his father was very uptight and had prejudice against magic due to Merope actions. This is all my imagination on what could have happened 🤭 I think that in canon, before killing his father, they have a brief chat where he admits the abandonment was because of that.
