I was raised in Tulsa and graduated from OU. Work took me away in 1986 and have lived coast to coast in 10 different cities of all sizes and I have not found one I would place over Tulsa. It is a beautiful city, hilly, trees galore, gorgeous neighborhoods, plenty to do, extremely affordable and gets a bad rap from people who stereotype people from red states. I live in the wonderful armpit of Los Angeles now and have for last 25 years due to work. My son lives here with me and although he makes what is considered a decent salary of 60K in most places, is considered poverty level here. There is no greener grass than that of Tulsa, so feel fortunate to live there, a beautiful city visually, culturally and moving the right direction at the right pace. I plan to move back as soon as I can as getting close to retirement and there is no other mid sized city I'd rather be and as I say in last 37 years I've lived in plenty to draw comparisons. Give it a chance and you'll love it also.
