@@EggTamago7 Fanned frets help a lot with clarity on lower strings, especially when overdriven

Okay, you need to tell me what strings you put on this thing, because I have the same bass but I have yet to get out an acceptable tone out of it, AND HERE YOU ARE DOING IT
I'll figure out the effect chain and plugins later, but the Barts on that thing don't play well with ANY strings or EQ or distortion or anything I've tried so far :(
It happens to me that it sounds quite dark, it is difficult for me to get a brighter sound out of it.
Does something similar happen to you?
Maybe I have to look at other strings or maybe it's the pickups 🤔
They are Ernie ball strings, but I'm not sure how long they have been on the bass...
@@thepiratebass_ Exactly, dark and more often than not, muddy. I've tried with all kinds of strings, so far only Elixirs have been a semi success except for the fact that the B string tapers off before the nut so I need to improvise how to fill the space in the nut where the taper should be.
But the Bartolinis and the preamp also don't help, you yourself can make a comparison with your German weapons. I have a Warwick Fortress One from 1994 and that thing is a night and day difference in sound. Also, from other Nordstrand equipped Ibanez SR demos I've heard, also night and day difference.
@@borisalmishev5052 Thanks for the info brother, I needed to compare it with someone like you. Definitely the Bartolini pickups he uses are fucking dark (which doesn't help the definition). We may have to think about changing pads... 🤔
