One thing I liked was how at the beginning, you see only one horseman. That's directly out of the Mongol handbook - their cavalry would approach in a single file, so that from far away, their enemies would see only a single rider approaching. Then shit their pants when the riders fan out.
Sensibility is not something you employ in this movie. You want other examples? 1. Rourans wearing black uniforms in the scorching sun while attacking during daylight. 2. Their leader, Bori Khan, doesn't know how to tie a turban around his face tight enough. 3. The leader managing to see an arrow coming at him from the sky, where the sun is shining and should have blinded him.
