Klusener was dropped from South African team after 2003 World cup because he had refused to play under captaincy of inexperienced Greame Smith.That was the turning point of his career.Though after 8 months he once again got opportunity to play for South Africa but he wasn't was at his best.After the flop show in 2004 Odi series in New Zealand,he was permanently dropped from the team which forced him to announce his retirement from International cricket.
