That was one of the coolest backing track I’ve ever played! Thank you so much! I’ve already had hours of fun noodling in F dorian, F minor melodic/A# lydian dominant, but when I discovered how good the F mixolydian pentatonic sounded, ho my lord it was done, I couldn’t stop playing!
Thanks for the resource! The bass plays A over Bb7 in the Eddie Harris Original, not Ab (yes the theory police won't like it, but such is music!). Source: Eddie Harris Original youtu . be / G7ud2HJ0DsY
The rhythm guitar track on this is the baddest. It's so freakin cold I can't stand it! I had been having fun improvising melody over this, but now all I can do is try to figure out how to play the rhythm part, and it's driving me bananas. Could you please post tablature? very nice job on the recording of this track, I really appreciate you making it available.
It may be smug, but he does have a point. A tab won't help you develop your instincts and skills as a musician. Use your ears and metronome to figure the rhythm and you'll come out a better musician because of it. A tab is basically a hand out and you won't find those in a real life music setting. A lot of musicians and directors assume/expect you to use your ears more than anything.
Kevin Kingrey You didn't learn speaking by reading a book, right? So why use tabs to learn music? You may call it smug, but the point doesn't come from me, it comes from an endless line of musicians before me.

Very crisp and clean, ice cold breaks, one of the best backing tracks for this piece.
indeed this is one of the best for this song i love it
I like taking this up to 1.25x speed. Gives it a different funk groove and can take off on solos.
funky and groovy. Very Nice!
that moment when you like the backing track more than the real song
Those F7s sound better as F7#9s or you can use the tri-tone substitution, B7, B9 or B13. Great tune, great play along. Thanks.
Time to jam!
Thanks for the resource!

+Kevin Kingrey Use your ears. May be difficult at first, but you'll come out a better musician. This is really not difficult.
Thanks so much Joshua, that was so completely un-helpful, and at the same time absolutely smug!
