I was at the park with my dad, and as we were leaving, there comes Steph with Ayesha with their first child (I forget her name) to spend a chill family day at the park. I didn't even realize it was him, but my dad said hi to him as we passed. I asked my dad why he just randomly said hi to this random guy and he looked at me and was like "that was Steph Curry." My little 12 year old brain had trouble processing that. I was never a basketball player (baseball was always my sport of choice to play) so I had nothing basketball related with me that I could possibly have him autograph. In fact, all I could find was some random index card in the glove box of my dad's car. So I took that index card and ran back up the hill to try and find him. And there he was, sitting on a blanket with Ayesha, watching their kid running around on the grass. He didn't have to sign that index card, he clearly was trying to spend a day of peace with his family, but he signed it anyway and took a minute or so to talk with this wide eyed 12 year old who quite frankly at the time didn't know shit about basketball lol. Being a Warriors fan in those days was rough. But when we drafted Curry, for the first time in years, we had some hope. Now all these years later, it's nice to see that Steph is still the same chill, down-to-earth guy who also happens to be one of the greatest players to ever touch a basketball. And all these years later, that index card is still pinned to my wall.
