    What temperature is your iron?

    • @adorjanc3076
      @adorjanc3076 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For those who wants to know:
      Temperature is first or second level on the 3 level iron.
      Material is the small laminate foil for credit cards or any laminate foil that you can buy in a store where they sell these things. Basically it's the same thing you put in a laminator but this video is showing how to do the same with some muscle and the iron.
      Time: few seconds for small things. Actually what you need is to heat up the iron and press hard and go through the laminated surface a few times. Fortunately, you can check your work to see if you need to apply some pressure in some other areas.
      I did it 2 times, that why I comment, both times without a towel because I thought I don't need a towel.
      If you do without the towel, go for the first setting on your iron and then press hard (don't break the iron, just give some muscle in it so the laminated foil can stick to each other and to the paper) and move around a few seconds. Be careful how you move it and at what direction or you will have air bubbles. The laminator moves from one side to the other so try to mimic that motion. Never move back, always only one direction. I moved back and forth, but that was a card project so it didn't mattered.
      Heat is necessary to melt the glue that is on the laminated foil. Less heat will make the glue melt slower, too much heat can melt the whole foil. In theory, you can put the iron on the last level and once it's hot enough, you can just swipe it once over the laminated foil. How fast? Now that's the thing you need to crack yourself. If too fast the, glue won't have time to melt, if too slow, it will melt too much.
      For small, one time projects, you can use this iron trick. But for big projects or laminating something for other, something important or for money, definitely buy a laminator, anyone that says 80micron is good. No need to go higher.
