    I was not looking forward to paying $187 for a new clutch and was delighted to find this video. I made the $1.37 repair as shown on this video and am delighted with the results. Thank you so very much for your solution to what could have been an expensive fix!

    I ordered the Agrisupply 40219 friction disk and JD bonded it to the bottom plate. I was a little sloppy with the epoxy, but the blade clutch seems to work just fine. Time will tell how long this $20 fix will work.

      @@mrdad3 Thanks for getting back to me. I did the same as you but got my part on eBay and used JB weld. Just installed it last weekend. Works good as new! Thanks for your posting showing the part number.

    My friction pad fell apart and I spent $100 on a new blade brake clutch assembly from ebay, immediately smelled burning brakes after installation. I only hand tightened it. So now I may try to use my old lower half of the clutch assemby on the new top with your friction material hack sandwiched in. I feel like a sucker wish i found your video sooner

    Put a 1/8 disc on at beginning of season and worked fine. Now at end of summer could not create enough suction to discharge grass into bag. Inspected disc and it has little wear. Is the clutch not functioning properly?

      Well it lasted 4 years and now I'm getting a new clutch as the upper surface shattered somehow(not from the disc material) ....This was done on a jx 75......I do have an Ogura clutch on an 14 SB ---anyone have any thoughts?

    How did you prevent the engine from rotating when you took the centre bolt out please? I need to replace the BBC bearing and if l try to stop the engine spinning with a socket on the 19mm nut on the other end of the crankshaft,( i.e. The one under the recoil starter) that nut comes undone instead of the bolt ☹️

      This video will show you how to prevent the engine crankshaft from rotating while attempting to remove the bolt: th-cam.com/video/ZgkbUZKbTCQ/w-d-xo.html

      @@ErikAsquith Hi Erik, thanks anyway but l bought a "Piston stop" (Fits in the spark plug hole) which worked perfectly 😉

      @ErikAsquith 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mackeson3 a piston stop or even pushing some clean rope into the spark plug hole will prevent the crankshaft from rotating. I am glad that worked out for you.

    My disc has quite a ridge around it where the friction disc used to be. Should I grind that flatter?Thanks

    Where is your update video? And how long has the zip wheel lasted? I just did my John Deere we85 clutch with the 1/8" metal cut off wheel with jb weld.

      I used the dewalt disc too! I got the same one as you and also the 1/8". I used a diamond bit to cut the center of disc out

      @@stevefellers8901 I was going to order it but they want 35$ shipping to Canada. So i just bought a 1/8" metal cutting disc. Will report back to see how it worked. My bearing needs to be repacked with grease too while i am in there
