Tom can take banal questions and make the answers fascinating. If only professors were as interesting and charming, no one would ever skip a class. He's talented, warm, funny, intelligent, and there is seemingly nothing he can't do. Love him!
Thank you! Why can't we have professors that mirror this lovely man's attitude? Not that I don't appreciate the work most of them put in to teach us, but I feel like I've learned a lot more with Tom's general wisdom than I have compared to some of my other teachers in college. Tom for president and college English (or) Drama professor!
Loki is not evil, he is just fucked up and made some really bad decisions. he is also very angry, lonely and hurt. Tom really understands the psychology of the charactor and the other charactors he has played. That is what makes him such a great actor.
I think he wants to be evil, because he wants so desperately to be Thor's equal, and he thinks that by being Thor's nemesis, he will be equal to him. If he can't be noticed as Thor's little brother, he wants to be noticed as the one who stands against Thor. But he can't quite do it, because of his conscience. He can't kill Thor, and it makes him feel weak, therefore repeating the cycle of self-worthlessness.
You are right. Loki does love Thor and he is not completely evil. Like you said, he has a conscience. He does not want to be in his brother's shadow. Remember when he said "I never wanted the throne, I only want to be your equal."?
does anyone else have difficulty listening to what tom is saying because you just get distracted by his voice? like just a deep seated true appreciation for the sounds this amazing man's vocal chords make. wow.
To be afraid to fail. To look back and think "I wish i had.." Y'know tom, you've inspired me to not be so afraid of getting out there and face my fears of failing. Thank you.
He is a beautiful human being who lives in the now and wears his heart on his sleeve! He is not only a great actor, but a true humanitarian and a brilliant philosopher. He was born to be in the spotlight. He feeds on the positive energy of the crowd and throws it back out, that is why he is so respected. He understands he would not be where he is without his fans. His love and adoration for his fans is so genuine. We need more celebrities like him. The world is a better place with him in it!
TOM: 'He’s just evil', from the front! (sarcastically) thanks for the sympathy! Just worked three films, you know like, integrated psychology and all I get, “He’s just evil.” -- Nobody can just simply judge Loki ESPECIALLY in front of Tom without getting a sass comeback. We love you Tom Hiddleston!
I was not a fan of Avengers or Marvel but one of the movies was on tv and while flipping channels I caught his performance and stopped to take it in and thought who is this guy? He's fantastic! A week later I just had to look "Loki" up cause he was just that memorable. An instant Tom Hiddleston fan was born.
this is perfect. he is perfect. he said “thor: the dark world. loki is a weird guy" and i just laughed so hard and when he said "thanks for the sympathy. just worked 3 films, you know like, integrated psychology and all i get, “he’s just evil” great!" i stoped the video and i cried laughing and i waited a few seconds to can breathe again despite the funny things i think that this is a very instructive conversation and tom must be a life coach :D
That was a very honest reaction. Made it funny but he might be not happy with it. What about the other villains? Are they not bad as same as his Charakter? So all Marvel Villains are just misunderstood? So why don't we like them as well as L. ?
If I had just ONE teacher like Mr. Tom Hiddleston who is very intelligent, educated and just explains things very well, I would definitely be a whole different person. That is one of the main reasons I keep finding myself watching him over and over again.
This is the same Tom Hiddleston 4 years ago as today. Fame hasnt changed him and he is so very humble which adds to his charm and magnetism. I hope he always stays like this and I believe he will. #tomhiddleston
Same here! He was talking to all of us. He knew once his words "tear my own clothes off" came out where we were all going with that. Anytime I hear Steady now I'll be picturing him!!
As much as I love his acting and look forward to watching him, I also can't help but think what a difference he could make if he were to be an advisor, mentor, or a professor. The passion and enthusiasm he has and shows so freely and with such joy is what would make students of any age want to learn and enjoy going to class. I know what a difference it'd have made for me if I had any teacher with even half his wisdom and inspiration. Tom surely shines bright wherever and in whatever he is doing in his life. Bless him!!
Hear hear! Your comment is so beautifully put and I agree with every word. However I do think Tom is making a difference just by being who he is and being so generous in interviews (and let's not forget his work with Unicef!) A lot of things he has said has gone on to inspire so many of his fans to follow their dreams and/or be better people. I read so many comments to videos like these were people share how something Tom said made them change or improve their lives. Long live Tom! :)
He is so inspiring. The "I wish I had" part truly spoke to me. I quit school and kind of ruined my life. And it was out of fear. I always acted like I never cared. I can see what he's saying. Well now I'm going to make the best of my life. I'll work hard with what I can do, never be afraid to follow my dreams. Thank you, Tom. You're truly incredible. Very inspiring! And handsome!!
Hey, same here. I was just about to take tests for graduating and had so much going on that was keeping me from being serious and I quit, even though my headmaster asked me not to and promised to help me through this hard time. I was so scared of failing and pretended not to care and hearing Tom´s words really got me. I have always regretted not trying..but I must say, I was in mayor trouble, being homeless for some time and could just not see the light and started taking drugs to numb myself and I wish I would have taken that hand reaching out for me. But as Tom said. FEAR. After so many people letting me down or me letting people let me down I will now the wiser say, I just did not believe in the helping hand…wish you the best. Follow your dreams! That is the main reason I watch Tom`s "speeches". Of course because he is soooo attractive, but it has turned into wanting to be inspired.
I love these kinda long interview where actors talk about their work; especially British actors because they usually have theater background. That somehow makes them articulate and so fascinating to listen to.
I just love the way he talks so sophisticated and uses such nice vocabulary. And then he just goes like "fuck it c'mon". ehehehe He is so multifaceted, talented and soooo gourgeous... I'd give nearly everything to meet him just once in my life in person! And the way he talks about "getting to know Loki" *-* sooo beautifully explanations of what he has to go through.
Tom is such a beautiful person inside as much as he is outside. I really enjoy listening to him because he speaks so well and everything he says seems inspirational.
This is why I love his acting style. Even his explanations are well thought out and very meaningful. He's the first actor I've ever truly grown fond of, I always wonder what character he'll play next and wonder if the next will be completely different from the last. Such a sincere man almost seems impossible sadly. xD Its going to be the biggest honor if I ever have the fortune of meeting him.
He's really quite intelligent. I love watching his interviews because he always has something interesting to say. and hearing him curse is always nice, too. lol
People that are saying that recently he is less energetic and not as happy recently. I really hope that's not the case. He once said to not let people change who you are, and I hope he takes his own advice and keeps up his happiness and cheerful disposition. He deserves to be happy, and it kinda broke my heart when he apologized for being happy in this interview. It may just be a habit he has to over-apologize because he's really sweet, but I know that can be a weakness too as I used to have something like that myself, over apologizing for things that weren't necessary. He's a good man and I wish him the very best, and I hope he can block out more of the hatred and the negative voices that try to tell him who he isn't.
His educational profile is beyond normal and it’s good for him that he can use his knowledge in his career and expand it into every job he’s in. I’m happy for him that he could hold on to what he love, and what he’s good at-the classics, Greek mythology, Shakespeare-and use them to relate to his work. I’m in the same age as him. I’ve been working for 15 years in my career and still don’t know if I like my job.
He is and always will be one of my absolute favorite celebrities. No matter what I'm into, I always find myself being drawn back to him because of how kind and honest he is. I used to be really sad about a lot of things in my life, but then I saw how happy and positive he is and it made me realize how silly it all was, and that at the end of the day there's really no reason to be sad. To say the least, I have a somewhat new outlook on life, and I'm just hoping that I can be as happy and positive as he is, though, I really doubt it as he is the king! Also, his analogy of fear is the best I've ever heard. Some kids in my math class were getting stressed out over a difficult homework assignment and I sat them down and told them exactly what Tom had said and I think it actually worked. I really hope I get the chance to meet him someday so I can tell him how much he's inspired me to be a better person.
I couldn't agree more with your comment lovely, especially withe first two lines, but can i ask you something, as bigger fan than me i think, do you think that he sometimes fakes his humbleness with other people? (don't get angry is just a question...)
Priscilla Purple To be completely honest, I don't think he does. I've been a fan of his for quite a few years now and I have never once seen him be rude to anyone. I don't know him personally so him being kind to everyone may just be one side of him (preferably the side he's trying to show to his fans and use for publicity) but I don't really think that's the case. To me, he comes off as a super kind hearted and gentle soul and I have nothing but the the utmost respect for him because of it. I'm not angry at all answering this because I have been asked questions like this before and have even questioned it myself.
My favourite interview of him. He’s such a wise and smart person, it’s always a pleasure to listen to him talking... The way his brain functions never ceases to amaze me :’)
Oh thank you for sharing this interview. Really, it comes from the heart. It's like getting closer to tom, getting to know him better. He kind of fills me with his wisdom, his passion and his enthousiasm. I love how he describes the pool and the way he would tear up his clothes (hmm...good for my imagination...) and jump with no regards about the consequences... he would just dive in, so he would never look back and say that he should have... you know. I like that. Each word that comes from his (very attractive) mouth is really not a waste of time. It's a real pleasure and it's fulfilling to listen this great man talking. Thanks a lot. Go for the 2nd part!
I've just figured out why all of these Tom interviews are so long, he gives these brilliant complex, but really long answers to so many questions, especially about Loki.
I'm only 6.5 minutes into this and I am loving it. Tom is so relaxed and open, humble and sincere. I can already see this will be a favorite. Thanks for sharing, Popcorntaxi!......finished part 1. This guy is so able to articulate his thoughts and feelings. He's much more than just an actor. His philosophies are inspirational. He's wise beyond his years, and seems to have always been so. He's utterly divine.
Have you ever seen the video of Tom performed "Electra" by Sophocles on stage during his days in Cambridge University? He spoke the whole dialogue in ancient Greek! Amazing!
Wow, I really liked that and he is just so inspiring, with just telling whats on his mind and whats his opinion, but he still is soo funny! Also he can explain everything so well, you just get what he means right away and then you think about it again and you notice how right he is. I'm glad I watched this, because he got me to have another outlook on life somehow and inspired me to live it the way I'd love to.
The moment I saw Captain Nicholls in War Horse I knew that sooner or later I would become a Hiddlestoner. Now the time has come... Well-read yet passionate, smart yet down to earth: I thought such a combination could not exist in real life...and here he is. Too far away , sadly.
He is so generous..you could see him (seemed to me at least) about to crack up in the last seconds, talking about how Kenneth Branagh had helped him and how thankful he is. There are people in the industry that really know that of course you have to be tremendously talented, which he is, but that you also need somebody with power to believe in you and put you at the right place at the right time..You can guess he really appreciates his chance he was given..
This man inspires me so much!!! He is one of the reasons why I want to be an actress and strive everyday to become a better one! Even though it may never happen I really hope and pray that I work with him one day! It would be a dream come true to work with such an amazing actor
Tom Hiddleston is just excellent at everything he does, including interviews because he is truthful, does not filter, has sincerity, expresses gratitude, gives credit where it is due, for example when he talks about Kenneth Branagh. Whatever misgivings the interviewer may have had seemed to have been overcome and he was quite impressed in the end. Good questions.
Great interview, great questions, gives us insides to Tom and the brilliant mind of his. Such wisdom and enthusiasm inside a man at his age, absolutely rare. A wonderful & exceptional human being. God.
Magnificent. He's a wonderful man and everything I'd like to be as a human being. His wisdom astounds me and he glows with charm and positivity. Love you, Tom!
I am convinced, and I stand by this conviction, that Tom Hiddleston is an angel on Earth, and this is not flattery or false compare for the sake of showing poor wit. I do really, honestly, sincerely, believe that he's an angel put on Earth to do all the good he does directly himself, and indirectly by guiding and saving people with his example. If he's not an angel, he's the most angelical of humans I have ever seen.
I always get touched every time I watch that video where he talks about compassion.... a such young guy with a such great sensitivity. I hope he finds this same compassion of people towards him, and not the cruelty of recent years
I have a world of respect for this man. Seriously, his approach to his craft is so real and passionate and I have learned SO much from this! Cheers, Mr Hiddleston! :) x
Wow. I am so inspired. He is one of the reasons why I want to become an actress. I know it isn't easy, hell it's a nightmare trying to get started but even so, even if I don't get a lot of jobs, I want to be as passionate as him one day. Even if I end up as an author or a clothing designer or whatever, I hope to be passionate like him some day, and to help inspire others, just as he has inspired me.
Tom seems to always be himself. I don't think he'd know how to construct a public persona. That's why he is so refreshing to see and listen to. This interview was done before the Hiddleswift fiasco and I haven't seen an in depth one like this since. It will be interesting to see if he becomes more circumspect in in depth interviews now. I hope not. He is such a nice guy and I only want him to maintain the same positivity he has here. I think it will take a while though for him to trust the press again. Let's hope when he comes back to promote Skull Island, that he is his same old self again. We all love him.
@@goabsara exactly what I was thinking, it's painful to see what the media, professional contracts, obligations and commitments did to his joy and spontaneousity. He gave and spread so much compassion and lightness just to be screwed up and hurt. I even pray for him rediscover this (not so) old Tom. I'm sure that he is still there. Btw, now is june/19.
He can still be this Tom in interviews n stuff it just takes more for him to open up.he has to be comfortable with the interviewer and he can't b to tired .but there are things in his personal life he said he had to learn to guard and keep private .
If you ask the right questions, this man just goes on.. Like a penny in a machine.. But his smooth voice makes it alright, because you don't really listen to what he says, but just the fact that he talks.
Wow, there's so much wisdom inside of a 32-year old man. amazing.
I love how you say that like it's really surprising.
it is.
He is only 32?? wow he seems older... but i still love him very much haha:D
luibros well *now* he's 33, but yeah...and I love him too :)
and my comment was before his 33rd birthday n_n
yup
9:50 "tear my clothes off and hurl myself off the diving board- "

"hey! steady…." ehhee
hilarious
Lol I was looking for this comment 😂 He knows us too well

10:59 DID THE MAN JUST APOLOGIZE FOR BEING HAPPY ??! i dont even know what to do anymore......
Thomas "sorry" Hiddleston xD
9:52 "Steady!" this man is gold XD
"Age of Loki." Get to work on that, internet.
It must be done.
good news they have well age of loki probably wont be the title but there is talk of a bbc series centering on loki and other marvel characters
does anyone else have difficulty listening to what tom is saying because you just get distracted by his voice? like just a deep seated true appreciation for the sounds this amazing man's vocal chords make. wow.
Sarah Trinx YES!!!
When he said "steady" i felt like he was speaking to me 😂❤️
Natalie SM 😂
I can see him as a history teacher ^-^
Hundreds of fan fiction writers whole-heartedly agree with you haha! :D
To be afraid to fail.
To look back and think "I wish i had.."
Y'know tom, you've inspired me to not be so afraid of getting out there and face my fears of failing. Thank you.
His description of his thought process is mesmerizingly honest. I mean, come on, there are a lot of hot guys, but he's way way more than that.
He is a beautiful human being who lives in the now and wears his heart on his sleeve! He is not only a great actor, but a true humanitarian and a brilliant philosopher. Michelle Hayton we need more people like him in general
Michelle Hayton unfortunately here in 2018 he is tired
"He's just evil" and here you can see proof that Tom Hiddleston is just Loki disguised as a Midgardian
Elyntu Ebon right! I noticed that!
Elyntu Ebon and the good luck with that lol.

lol, I love it how he stopped for a moment just to deal with that guy.
Loki/Tom Hiddleston is the God of Sass!!
😃 loved how he reacted!
Loki is such a complex character and Tom explains him very well. So much eloquence. why can't all men be like him.

How is it even possible to be that perfect of a person.
his vocabulary and intellect that spills from every answer he gives is so refreshing and inspiring, also, extremely easy on the eyes
Omg his voice hits my heart
I am in love with Tom Hiddleston! He is amazing in every way, and so beautiful!
lol, get in line, sister! XD
Don't ever apologize for being happy Tom you beautiful astounding phenomenal man. ♥
You can relate to him, you see his honesty, that's why he's so precious.
Have you ever seen the video of Tom performed "Electra" by Sophocles on stage during his days in Cambridge University? He spoke the whole dialogue in ancient Greek! Amazing!
I love how he says sorry to being happy all the time.
His sheer nerdiness endears him to me to no end. I have no words to describe this man's enormous intellect. #tomhiddleston
He is absolutely gorgeous here omigosh
The moment I saw Captain Nicholls in War Horse I knew that sooner or later I would become a Hiddlestoner. Now the time has come...
Well-read yet passionate, smart yet down to earth: I thought such a combination could not exist in real life...and here he is. Too far away , sadly.
I could listen to this man speak all day. :)
Such intelligent answers! So smart and humble, and his passion and hard work make you really realize how much he deserves his success!
He is so generous..you could see him (seemed to me at least) about to crack up in the last seconds, talking about how Kenneth Branagh had helped him and how thankful he is. There are people in the industry that really know that of course you have to be tremendously talented, which he is, but that you also need somebody with power to believe in you and put you at the right place at the right time..You can guess he really appreciates his chance he was given..
he's so loved that there are exactly no dislikes! :)
So True haha !!
1 dislike, this is not expectable
He is just so inspirational, and perfect. I would kill to meet him.
God.
He seems so random-guy-on-the-street. So grounded and normal. Good for him. One of my new favorite actors for sure.
And it isn't fake like in Jeniffer Lawrence's case. Her co-stars mentioned how she changed after getting an oscar.
The way he says, "Thanks for the sympathy." :D
Sonja , I think that was in character, as Loki. XD
He is.. perfect. Done
Such an eloquent man... (swoon)
Where on earth does Tom get these amounts of positive energy from?! Gotta love so much enthusiasm! :D
"Life would be boring if it was all the same" I needed this.
He is just such a gem.
"He's just evil from the front" Yeah! There's no way that butt could be evil
Tom is so humble :) and dreamy ^.^
He’s there trying to be silly and goofy and then the interview is like “no Tom be serious” and Tom is like “but that isn’t possible!” It’s so cute!
13:25 :D "FUCK IT! COM'ON! WE'RE GOING!"
handsome ,smart and kind
he is perfect
He's so inspiring, its great to know his story.
Sally Dillon perfectly put. He gave so much and it seemed people turned on him because of Taylor Swift.
How disrespectful
It’s November 2018 now; when I listen and watch him being interviewed, I see how much damage fame has done to him. How much it has changed him.
I am marking some English assignments while listening to this. It's quite soothing to have in the background :3
He gets better and better
me the proud greek obsessed wit him
qué placer escuchar a este hombre.. cuánto respeto y admiración inspira.. qué ser hermoso
I love how Tom loves Greek stuff. Arghhh imma fangirling over Tom AND Greek Myths. Ughhh
“Thanks, for the sympathy”
YOURE WELCOME
When he said he had a terrible metaphor I knew it wasn't going to be terrible lol
he's very articulate and oh how I love his smile!
I love this video very much! Thanks so much for sharing. I've been repeating it over and over and over again... Tom Hiddleston, you're amazing! :D
Who's watching this in 2022 and Tom is now 41?
I am!!!!
Me in 2023
2024 now
Im learning new words because of Tom
Tom, Thank you for Coriolanus. You are......
I feel like Tom would have loved the Percy Jackson books becuase I think they are exactly what he said that he loved in his childhood...
If you ask the right questions, this man just goes on..
Like a penny in a machine..
But his smooth voice makes it alright, because you don't really listen to what he says, but just the fact that he talks.
