@@peabrain6872 It might not be accurate, but it’s alot more convenient and makes it so much easier to get inside the LAAT CG Gunship, it’s also great for stopmotion content. I think it’s better like this tbh. But im not a patreon so I can’t see the PDF file. Instead im going to attempt to create some kind of speeder that can go in the front part of the ship.
It does look pretty damn good. The amount of scratches I get from sharp edges tryna get my finger inside the ship with the default doors is unhealthy. 😂😂
Just done the two door mod. I found it best on the back door to just use one 3 hole technic bar. Yes it’s weak when you open it but when you push the door against the ship the main bar that runs up the ship supports it both open and closed. My front door is two studs wider than yours and I used the 5 hole technic bar. With a similar result of resting the door against the ship it’s supported. When both doors open it’s a full access to the interior absolutely flush both back and front. All the grey cockpit parts are gone bar two and I have moved the cockpits down one stud taking the front pilot closer to the nose where he should be. And lots of white have been added where necessary to make it closer to the “real” thing.
So cool build 💪👌🥳 Pretty good solution to the door problem on the gunship. I agree with you that the second solution is the best but thinking that the first door is a little to small.
Very good mod! Sure the trade off is that the smaller door is a touch more fragile, however it's over all great and I will be doing this mod once I get my own copy of this set! If you're open to suggestions for further mods of this set. I'd personally suggest a mod for the wings to get rid of the stud shooters to create a more accurate gunship look.

The second version could be lore accurate because in the movies the doors act like steering and breaking flaps so they can move in a couple directions.
“waste of money” is hilarious lmaooo. especially since this is just a guy building legos?? it’s not like he works for the company and has a salary or anything. let blaise cook he does a great job. but most of these alternate builds are supposed to be display and not playable so maybe that was your problem

True, compared to 2008 where the front door was 6 studs wide compared to my 4
You also have to keep in mind that the gunship compared to the old one is on a smaller scale so it kinda works
