Hi ! Thank you for this vidéo ! I will be an exchange student at CNU this fall and I wanted to know if we can travel across Korea during week ends or if they are rules in the dormitory that doesn’t allow us to leave ?
Yes you can travel! Jjust make sure that when you come back to the dorms after your trip, try to come back before curfew. Curfew starts at 1am and ends at 5am (you can double check online)
hi Kalue! Tysm for such a detailed video!) I have a question. Is meal included in the dorm fee or we need to pay for it separately? could u plz answer soon? tia;)
Hi Kalue, do you remember the dormitory's bed size? And do you recommend buying the bedding when we are in Korea or in the home country before flying to Korea? tia~^^
Hello! I do not know the exact measurement of the bed but I would say it is about the same size as a twin bed. I highly recommend just buying bedding when you get to Korea. Bedding should cost you between $30-40 total.
Thanks for the tour! I’ll be going there in the fall with USAC too! I do have a question tho - on their site, it says that the group flight is a few days before you actually move into the dorms so where do you stay before moving in?
Hi! So for that you will have to find your own sleeping accommodations until moving in. Sometimes, students also choose to stay in Seoul and explore before heading to Gwangju. The good thing is there are many hotels or hostels that are affordable if that is something you choose to do.

Hello! There are a couple Airbnb near the dorms, however, I’ve actually never booked them so I cannot speak on its quality. But there are many affordable 3-4 stars hotels in downtown Gwangju (also known as Chungjangno). More importantly, being in Chungjangno also means that you’re closer to some major tourist attractions in Gwangju. It is very easy and affordable to get around via the city bus or even taxi, so even if you are not located near the dorms, it should not be a big concern.
Hi, thank u for the video. I am going to chonnam university with gks, I would like to ask you how much money should I take with me to cover the living expenses for one or two month (food, dormitory, etc) thank u for your help
@@gisellolaya4696 Hi! Thank you for watching. I am actually not sure how much the dorm cost since I received a scholarship for it but I would recommend you speak with someone from Chonnam about it. In terms of food and other expenses, if you do not plan to travel outside of Chonnam, I think about $1,500 should be enough. But it all depends on how often you plan to travel to other cities during the time you are there. But the Chonnam cafeteria food is pretty affordable, it is less than $3 per meal.

Hey kalue, nice video. I have a couple of doubts- do they offer vegan/vegetarian food in their cafeteria meal plan? Is there any kitchen facility available? Is there any vegan/vegetarian restaurant nearby? Please do let me know when you are free
Hello! I don't know of any specific vegan/vegetarian restaurant nearby but it may be harder to find. CNU dormitory cafeteria does have a salad option but you will need to fill out a form and submit a special request for that. I recommend you talking to the dorm office to get more information. Sorry if I wasn't able to help much ;(
Hello! Yes Chonnam is one of the more affordable universities in Korea, especially when compared to the cost of Yonsei and SNU. For my particular program (USAC), Chonnam was half the price of Yonsei.
Hello! Thank you for watching this video. When I attended CNU in Spring 2022, the dormitory fee for one semester was about $1,000 US dollars (about 1,300,000 Korean won)

Hello Kalue!! May I know the measurement (height) for the uppermost cabinet compartment? The one that we can slot in our luggage,, thank you!!
Hello! I am not 100% sure but the space above the cabinet (where I store my small white suitcase) should be about 1 foot (or 30 centimeters) tall.
