You need to rid the trolls that bad mouth you and your work. I enjoy watching you make casts!!! Made a few myself for my dirt bike. Well over $200 to replace side cover . My friends dad is super smart. He showed me how to make a replacement for 10 bucks.ty

@@TruckDrivingFool the original cast part was made in a larger mold to account for the metal shrinking when it cools.
@@enedenedubedene4811 The shrinkage rate for the shitty aluminum alloy is 6-8%. 1.25% is absolute best and only with top quality Si-Al alloys.

I made some fly wheels without using 2 part molds. When the aluminum is poured both sides of the rims are rounded because aluminum does not leave a flat edge. It is rounded.

What is white powder borax?
talcum powder
It’s probably CHALK (calcium carbonate) . Actual talcum powder sold these days is mostly corn starch. Real talc is a magnesium silicate that is hydrous. ( Mg3Si4O10(OH)2 ) It’s good at absorbing water. It also was found to contain small amounts of asbestos so the manufacturers quietly removed the talc from baby powder. Graphite & Silica flour also work good. None of these is particularly good to inhale, a good mask is recommended.
Sand casting. Been around for hundreds of years. It does take some skill but nothing magical.
Its magical when you take scrap and ugly pieces and make something of beauty.

you don't need to be smart to sandcast. the fact that you were beating on top of the aluminum part with a metal hammer says not smart. LOL
Plus cast parts shrink, so good luck getting it bolt on correctly.

You don’t know what you’re doing, do you? To many unnecessary movements aimed at making you look good (like Benihana chef). Wiping the surface of the sand with a plastic bag or towel?, never have seen that one either. You should pretend to make samurai sword, you would be more believable and get more face.
