Best sounding speaker I have owned. Detailed precision with smooth and natural sounding midrange. The bass sounds nice and tight. Tonally balanced and accurate speaker from the highest frequencies to the lowest. I played all sorts of music from the heaviest of rock to the softest of jazz. Boy this speaker maintained its composure with confidence and control.
Thanks Pinky for your comment, and yes, at this price range it's got a lot of competitors beat - especially as you don't need a powerhouse amp to get them to satisfying levels. We're loving Evo X No 2
Nicely done review! These have a lot to recommend them, and are in the running for me. I have a old Dennon 1907 avr with 85 watts per channel. Would that be enough to drive these to loud levels in a room that's about 15.5 x 16.5 ft?
Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. That room isn't too large, so your Denon is likely to drive them well, as they are pretty efficient at 91 dB. Their nominal impedance isn't a big issue either. But "loud levels" is vey subjective, so you may want to reach out to us for further discussion: ask@gramophone.com
Now,I’m not sure of the model number of the focals that I listened to, but they were $26,000 and a pair of borrison x3 @$11000 completely put them to shame and this was on a naim system which focal is always paired with.
Thank you Kevin for your comments. As we don't carry Borreson at this time, we can't comment on the X3. But the $4,995 price range that Aria Evo X No. 2 occupies is a competitive one, and these speakers do really well at that price
Hi Fred, certainly all the horn loaded speakers are more efficient. But this is a pretty easy speaker to drive, even if you haven't upgraded to a high-end amplifier
It’s very efficient. I paired mine using a simple Marantz PM7000N and it powered the speakers effortlessly with plenty more in reserve. I rarely go beyond the 35 volume level.

At 91db it is efficient, but not VERY efficient.
