I JUST got a free treadmill TODAY after watching this video months ago. Thanks for the inspiration

Hell yeah! I'm looking for an old teal mill right now! What a fantastic solution! Thank you! I'm actually intending to make a multi spindal lathe. I'd really like them all to be linked and same speed control. This gives me lots of ideas. Thank you!

this is exactly what I want to do with a super old heavy frame full size lathe but use a 1.5 horse on it because I just think it would be easy with all the space to Set it up with full custom control boxes and nice neat wiring. And a paint job on the old one.. I'm super excited to either have a sweet lathe or break some shit.. both sound fun so let's do it

You can put a switch before the motor not the main, the main switch will be the initial switch, as soon as it establish the rpm just flip the switch to turn the motor on and of with the same setting.

Excellent video. Thank you. I am going to do this to my new Nova lathe.
Note: Could you re-cut the motor support position on the heavy metal bracket to allow your tension lever to sit deeper as desired?

I’m unclear on something. Did you weld your mount to the outside of the motor? How did you know that the motor wouldn’t be damaged?
Great video. I’m doing this to my Jet 1014 lathe too.
    Paul.
