    Always nice to see fresh metal going in, didn’t realise the seat base came as part of it, great work as usual 👍

    I found around a dozen differences between my mk1 floor and the new Heritage floor. Took me ages to carry out all the differences but it now back to an what a mk1 floor looks like. The new floor was actually 1/4" wider than the original floor too!!

    Hi, just for reference, the patch weld you point and refer to at approx 7:50 is in fact genuine, it’s on both sides, I thought the same initially when I replaced my boot floor.

      I did a little research on thoes and as far as I can tell these are for "wet" rear suspension for the bump stops. I don't know why BL continued to fit these on dry shells but they did.

    12:34 Don't forget the "L" shaped strengthener bit that goes along the front edge of the boot pan, under the very front edge of the back seat.

      Is that thr thin strip at the front of the seat base your referring to Paul? If so I've never seen these for sale

    • @paulrobinson3528
      @paulrobinson3528 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BMCWorkshop Yes thats the one, never looked to see if they are for sale. Took the old one off mine and spot welded it onto the new one. Just looked on M-Machine and can't see one.

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paulrobinson3528 you'd think they would be on the new floor panel. Maybe not needed then? I'll find out when I test fit the seatbase and if so I'll make a strip up

    • @paulrobinson3528
      @paulrobinson3528 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BMCWorkshop Its to strengthen that front lip up when it gets sat on. I just got the spot weld drill out to remove it. I think there were more like 14 differences from the Heritage panel to my mk1 boot floor! You thrown the old boot floor away already? lol

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The old floor got cut up during the build lol. Yeah 14 is the number of changes I've heard too. Nobody will be in my back seat anyway so it probably won't matter lol

    Sean, Kev, Pity you couldn't get the boot floor removal in the video, The fit looks great i don‘t think you ask for better as a first fit. Cheers Dave

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Dave, we just cracked on with it and yeah the floor fitted a treat first time. It's probably the only heritage panel that fits well along with the scuttle lol

    About GoPros and battery life, I’ve got a hero8 black and use it with an aftermarket battery door with a hole in for a USB cable so it can be used while plugged in with the battery removed (it gets a bit warm otherwise) I know you move the camera around so perhaps you could run it from a high capacity power bank?

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Richard, if the hero 9 has 30% more battery power than the previous models I'd hate to see their run time. I'm recording at 4k so that might be a factor to the battery drain. Might knock it back to 2.7k or 1080p and see if things improve

    • @richardsteadman2246
      @richardsteadman2246 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BMCWorkshop the Hero9 will run the same way, remove the battery door and power it from a USB C charger with the battery removed and not worry about batteries 😊 Worth a try.

    I came out to find my rear Valence sitting on the floor from my MK3,. Maybe they were all stuck on. 🤣

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one was only tacked on so no doubt would have ended up on the floor too at some point lol

  • @johncoldwell340

    🤔 I better start saving for few more panels before I cut my floor out I think

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely helps if you have all the panels required to fit in straight after cutting the old ones out. We've opted for a full m machine floor in this build and the fit is perfect. Stay tuned to see that go in!
