Sorry to all who were looking for plans that are no longer on my website as I've been gone for a few years. There are now plans on my FB page which is linked in the description.
I showed this to my wife and we decided I must try this bowl. I've just gotten into woodworking a little less than a year ago after surviving 2 major heart attacks including the "widow maker" in 2013 and stage 4 throat cancer in 2018. I decided I needed to get up and do something besides walking. I caught where you picked up your prototype bowl. Thank you for your service and making the world safe for my grandchildren! I am a Jarhead who was on active duty from 1968 - 1972. Things were a bit dicey then too. Thanks again for the inspiration and your service.
This is extraordinary. Never seen something as special as this bowl. You must have good technical insight and a very creative brain to come with something like this.
Just tried cutting the spiral only on the bandsaw and it was really 'dirty'. Used a 3/16 blade and was hard staying on the line. I printed a bunch to practice with so just need to work harder at it. Thanks for the spiral print. Yours turned out really nice. No way to clean between the spiral cuts so they really need to be clean.
Thank you. If you have a scroll saw, then you can skip the cutting through the ring and drill starter holes. Should turn out for a cleaner look in the end.
Wow. Now that's pure Artwork to me. What An Awesome job on that. I have seen many of them here on TH-cam. This is my Favourite one. Beautiful work Thank you for sharing
Great work brother. I was just looking at mine and my kitchen and thought to myself well I have a scroll saw and a band saw let me see how these are made
Just finished making one today. It was my second attempt. Made me take extra care to glue it properly. Turned out very nice. I used some oak offcuts and pine so I simply applied danish oil. Thank for a very good instruction video.
Really nice that project/bowl the way it turned out. I have been looking at your videos and enjoyed them all, this one where you do a talk over through the video was the best one I prefer, hope you carry on this way as I have now subscribed to your channel. Take Care, Barry (from England)
Man this is crazy cool. I've never seen one before. How easy would it be for some nitwit to bump the handle and have it collapse with all my precious M&M's falling to the floor?
It's definitely a possibility. You could cut the handle part to be a bit longer to hold the bowl up a little tighter, but nothing can truly stop an expert level nitwit.
cool cool cool project!!!! Perhaps a bit ' fragile, maybe make the texture as the mtm's works would help you while cutting spiral and made the project less sensitive to moisture . however I have already said that cool?
New subscriber here. Very cool little project! I'm about to buy my first band saw and this will be one project I'll have to try. That lower piece you attached to the base, I wonder if one could put a hidden lever in it to come out and brace the handle. This may avoid it being knocked down while your candy or what not is in it. Just a thought.
It's just equal parts of polyurethane, boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. These are three common things in my shop, so it's easy to make and cheaper than the store bought stuff.
You are Incredible Indeed Sir !!! Your Nick Name Should Be The Incredible Replicator...You are Awesome Sir.. no disrespect Intended by the Nick Name Just Admiration You are a Great Instructor..Thank You for Your Video ;););)
Il tuo progetto mi è piaciuto molto,ti faccio i miei complimenti 👍 visto che non comprendo la tua lingua volevo sapere quale legno si può adoperarle e lo spessore del legno. Grazie aspetto la tua risposta......
I think I use the 3M stuff in the orange spray can, but I wait about 30-60 seconds after spraying before I apply the template to the wood. I have applied a template right after spraying, but found it too aggressive like you said.
I get this when I go to your website "NOTICE: This domain name expired on 2/24/2017 and is pending renewal or deletion." please advice. Beautiful work man!

Are you still posting videos to TH-cam? Or, is there another platform we can follow you on?

The demo was excellent, but the helpful hints and suggestions at the end were even better.

Dude!!! Beautiful and nicely explained. I really dig the center stripe.
I didn't have enough walnut to make 8", so adding the cherry strip was out of necessity!
I'm going to set aside some time to try this one out on my scroll saw. looks great, man. I can't wait to try it.
Thank you. If you have a scroll saw, then you can skip the cutting through the ring and drill starter holes. Should turn out for a cleaner look in the end.

Great work. Want to try on a jig saw. Where can I find the spiral template?
cool cool cool project!!!!

What kind of spray adhesive are you using? The 3m adhesive I have used in the past for templates would be too aggressive for this project.
I think I use the 3M stuff in the orange spray can, but I wait about 30-60 seconds after spraying before I apply the template to the wood. I have applied a template right after spraying, but found it too aggressive like you said.
+Just Make It Awesome, thanks. Glued up the 8x8s last night going to give the project a try tonight.
Super.
can you please send or show me how to print the plans/patteren
I can't find anywhere that sells 8 foot wide board. But nice project. Yes I know you meant inches.

Hi, I can no longer find your plans for this.
Took me a minute to realise you talking wasn't the song lyrics lmao.
This was 3x3 customs idea
how thick is the bandsaw blade
.014" or .36mm
That's tiny thanks
No clue where I will find a 62in by .014 in blade
Maybe you meant the width. It's a 62x1/4" blade.
+Just Make It your right I'm such a spaz thanks alot
that's the standard blade size that u use on a band saw
you can sendme a patterns
Come back
I check a lot of woodworking handbooks. These one from WoodPrix are the best.
Woodglut Blueprints has some very useful blueprints with all the details you need.
