One of the best things you did was encourage Brad to use a GoPro. He's a typical Aussie larrikin with a wicked sense of humour. You are a great team together.
I've been told that a lot of seat parts are common between Headers and tractors so second hand seats from headers are often in good shape and a fraction of the new price and will fit tractors too.
To store and transport the nuts/ bolts/ small tools/ etc, I just have piles of 2L black ice-cream boxes, with a piece of parcel-tape on the front, then label in permanent pen. These boxes have easy-off lids, stack nicely and live in piles in the workshop. When going on a call, just pick up the boxes needed and go (- for you they could live in the trailer). Have a different box for
This is the percentage of organic matter that the farmers in the Netherlands keep their soil at. In arable farming and vegetable cultivation, 3% organic matter is desirable (although it is not always feasible). For heavier soils, 4% is recommended. If values are too high (of 5% or more), tillage and weed problems increase. For grassland, an organic matter content of 5 to 6% is desirable in the layer 0 to 10 centimeters. But soil type and history also determine which values are feasible. Higher values are not always favorable because this often concerns very stable organic matter that does not contribute to the nutrition of the crop and can also reduce its carrying capacity. Not only do we have colder winters, but we also have a lot of organic matter from the huge amounts of farm animals. We have around 520 large farm animals per square km and also 520 pieces of poultry per square km at any given moment in time. That is why the government wants to limit the amount of animals in the Netherlands and other European countries. Because it has become an unhealthy situation with far too much nitrogen and fine dust pollution. And that is why the farmers in the Netherlands are protesting, because they do not want to see that anything is going to change. I think that in your region woody organic matter would do very well, but I have no idea how it would be feasible to cover that much land with woody organic matter.
Such a nice sunny day in the garage preparing for big day ahead, big up to the family #jacksonbrothers nice work always encouraging, hope someday I also will be part of the family,am really into machines, really enjoy watching you guys working on the machines 💯💯
Great work guy’s ! Yes you always have room to learn different techniques from different places. There are so many different aspects to consider in many ways. Good on you all . Have a great week thanks for the vid till next time,Later.
Hi Matt and family always a great pleasure to see how life out there is. Unfortunately it is very difficult to see you when in shed. Just Unfortunately the lighting. Please keep up the great Chanel. Thanks Graeme
Some of the fancy service trucks have a positive air pressure system in the storage areas to try and keep dust out of them. Could you pull the Steiger with the Massey Ferguson for seeding? Humates can provide a quick source of carbon (though expensive). There are solar panels for excavators etc, that have a claimed better impact resistance.
That’s what I like about TH-cam farming, every day a school day. Levels of organic carbon are something new to me. Your soil must sponge up well though because if we had 50mm per hour for three hours it would be a serious mess in the UK, even on our sand land. Think the most we ever had was 100-120mm in a day and that caused serious flooding.
The water doesn't sink into the ground much, just runs off creating erosion. thus the need for contour banks, on sloping ground to arrest the speed of the water and erosion. the contour banks are nearly the same height in elevation from start to tail end usually emptying into a creek or drain at the end of the paddock.
News in the snowpack in california. Micro plastics have been found in the snowpack. Seem to be coming up from the ocean evaporation. Just though you might find that interesting.
That's exactly what I was thinking also, even before Matt said they were thinking of putting a cover there. Should nearly get 400 or more watts up there and more if cover the tops of the toolboxes. Might even be able to increase the battery amphour as well..
I did forget to mention that was the other reason for wanting to put a cover between boxes👍, realistically only need 100-150 watts but like most things I’m sure we will overdo it😂😂
I farm in England, the government are introducing schemes to encourage farmers to store more carbon in the soil. I have tested half my farm and the organic matter was between 6.5 and 8 percent on the arable ground it’s well above the average because I am a mixed farmer with livestock.
Hey Matt how many hours does the Challenger have on it? Also who runs the administration part of the farm, pay the wages and the bills and keep an eye on the expenses. Thank you for the video
Hi John, the challenger would have about 10000hrs on it now. Bookwork is shared between our mum and my wife, Brad and Phil are supposed to be keeping an eye on expenses😂😂
She’s alright Brad not everyone is perfect , Matt could learn a bit off of you 😂 bloody heck Matt instead of work trailers you nearly need a mobile workshop , be easier than having bits and pieces all over the countryside, plus you’ll have more room to throw stuff in so as you’ll have it ready for the job
Haha we out expanded the work trailer😳 the real problem is we need workshops at each property but that will be a slow process as it is expensive to set up
That was a really interesting conversation about OM, I didn't realise yours would be so low but it makes sense. Is that why you don't get such high yields as UK and NZ? Or is that more to do with the fact you have sustained higher temperature? On a totally different note guys. How do you see you're government and the way the geopolitical world is going? I see it as frightful.
I really like seeing the work going on in the shop and the great interactions of brothers. All of whom are great mechanics! But that's a farmer in my book. Someone has already mentioned the light exposure problem, but I wanted to add that the sound level changes greatly and, when he turned his head away, part of what Phil was saying was too quiet to hear. And it sounded like it could have been very interesting news. Great vid!!
Thanks! Fully understand what you are saying👍 It’s difficult to get lighting and volume right in a shed that has an abundance of natural light, I have tried a few different microphones but hard to find one that works in all environments, still working on it though😁👍
The mechanical skills that farmers have are many times outstanding in so many levels! 👍🇸🇪
I love how it says "Brak Clean" in the tool trailer hahah
Big Bud tractor is coming back no more crazy computors parts off the shelf and no dealer hassle something to think about.
Loved the Brad talk
One of the best things you did was encourage Brad to use a GoPro. He's a typical Aussie larrikin with a wicked sense of humour. You are a great team together.
Thanks! It takes us all a bit of time to be comfortable in front of the camera, never in a 1000 years did I think I would be doing this😳😁
Love the banter on the forklift, good to hear a bit of stick given and taken lol
thats interesting that talk on the forklift about organic matter.
it makes it hard i have sheep and they compact the ground in a wet year!
The intricacies of modern farming the mind boggles, well mine does 👍🏻🏴
Might want to put a mud flap off a grain truck on the front side of the tool boxes to keep the stones from beating up the paint.
Love the organisation of your toolboxes and trailer, always been big on that.
😂😂Mat ya gotta give Brad more air time he is a natural

I really enjoy your videos and your attention to continuous preventive and organizational maintenance. Well done.

Really enjoy Brad joining in more. Thanks Matt!
You Tube is really bringing all closer together in regards of practice's and outcome's, Thanks Fella's appreciate you much.
Great video Matt and crew
Where I farm in West Central Saskatchewan my organic matter ranges from 2.5% to 3.4%.
Thank you for sharing
🎖️🏆🙏🇺🇲

Good storage idea for the aerosol cans guys 👍
Hi Matt and the boys, another great video, and Brad's a bit wild on the forklift. It's better to stick with the 11's a bit more bulletproof
Love your videos guys
Hi Matt and family always a great pleasure to see how life out there is. Unfortunately it is very difficult to see you when in shed. Just Unfortunately the lighting. Please keep up the great Chanel. Thanks Graeme
Thanks Graeme! Sorry about the lighting, it’s tricky getting it right👍
Like the tool cart bet it saves the day lots of times when working away from your main base

A lid over the drums and mount the solar panel on top

Great video again
Matt, I don’t know if y’all can get the Milwaukee Packout system down there. They are great for nut and bolt storage. Y’all might check them out.
We can but I hadn’t seen the small storage options, I’ll check them out👍
Matt have tried Flowtech exhausts in Richmond nsw
Now you won’t know where anything is in the trailer now that it’s organised, a coat of paint can make a weld look bloody marvellous, cheers guys
Very educational.
Alberta Canada large range but we are around 4%
Perhaps run 3 solar panels over the drums between tool boxes. Weld a frame up off the boxes
That's exactly what I was thinking also, even before Matt said they were thinking of putting a cover there.

Very good Video 👍
You have to convert your mils to inches to help U.S.A people out. Love watching farmers from all over the World. Keep it Up. Thanks
30mm is a little bit over a inch so when hes saying 50mm a hour thats near on 2 inches 1.9685 to be exact
Wow, lots of good information in this video
Either new camera or settings changed. Incorrect exposure, led to much darker footage
Great chat with Brad, more of that to go with Matt s camera work.
As we all get more comfortable with the camera it gets easier👍😁
Is dad running office I see he's turning into a TH-cam sensation?
Can you pull a stump out with the D11 and a chain?
I cant really comprenwhnd that this machine has 150tons of drawbar pull 😮
good video
At that cost for a muffler straight pipe sounds good.
Leave Phil alone, a grinder and paint make you the welder that you aint
5" truck muffler from truck line and crome turn outs
Brak clean😏

Hate to be safety Sam. Remove the battery from cordless tools. Please.❤
Do a pov in the chamberlin.
Rainy days are supose to be shed days.
Straight pipe the Challenger. 😅
Maximum chromeage pipe please😅
Next video can you go back to your tool trailer and put an 'E' on the end of the label 'Brak' cleaner ??
Yep it was annoying me too😂 although the stuff we use is called brakleen so not to far off😂
And there is nothing in the fridge.

I think the temperature and dryer weather affects the yields the most👍 it is certainly an interesting time😳
👍👍👍💪💪💪😀🦘🇦🇺
make ur own muffler!
We only know how to make ones that are louder😂😂

That’s pretty much it👍
You don't even need a hole, just throw it out on top! 🤣
Great video
