These customer reviews are really good. A great amount of knowledge for potential car buyers. Keep up the good work. BT just a small suggestion, pls use a better camera setup and better editing. Your videos will definitely be a lot more fun to watch. Cheers!!
Frankly speaking, Mr. Sarkar is the most straightforward and frank owner I have seen on this channel yet. Clearly laid out the positives and negatives of his car with next to none owner's bias. He should review cars for a living (or as a hobby).
I think you understand that our reviews are unscripted and never tempered except cut to be part of defined modules. So all of them are as unbiased as the Endeavour review
@@ecardlr You guys can only control the environment of the review (unscripted, unedited etc.). You cannot, however, account for the inherent bias that an owner has towards his/her vehicle and that is reflected in a lot of videos. In this video however, Mr. Sarkar has quite clearly laid down the positives as well as the negatives of the vehicle which is more realistic as a vehicle ownership is never a bed of roses and there are some quirks about the vehicle which cannot be covered in regular reviews and can only be understood by the owner. This area is where this particular review excels.
Got remap done for my 3.2. The gear box lag is sorted & it drives even better. It always drove great & now it's just + that. Has gotten in the range of 245 nm torque & 545 bhp
Such an upgrade would definitely impact an already poor mileage, but then there is no price for indulgence, correct? however, would be great if you share the revised FE figures Plus any upgrades in braking department.
@@ecardlr Tbh, I dont look at FE numbers because a 3.2 ltr engine won't go beyond 9. Remap = greater power , hence it will drink more fuel. I won't be driving at 50 kph on a full tank to see the FE number because I know I can't & won't drive like that all the time, hence it will be a total misrepresentation. I don't expect to see any change in numbers, may be lower still
A point I wish to add on the Endeavour’s gearing - remember, the vehicle was designed in (and largely for) the Australian and SA markets where Toyota was having a field day with their Hilux/Fortuner. These markets love to tow stuff with their trucks - boats, caravans etc. For that purpose, a lower gear that holds on a bit longer is what is required esp if you have to pull that load uphill. Unfortunately, in India, we love to tear away from lights and here’s where the transmission surprises us.
A R M A A N It is a big deal actually, factoring the incremental costs of tooling for new ratios I think. Especially when it’s not keeping the car from selling.
@@OottamnaamrA like who buys a fortuner seriously you spend almost 40 lakhs and expect that kind of an interior on a car and the ride is way more comfy in endeavour and has a lot of features. My brother recently brought one the new facelifted one now the car is a good package if you like riding cars and do care about the interiors (seriously who wont like you spend this much and will definitely want to feel premium)then go for endeavour and if you care about Toyota and all that resale value things then maybe fortuner is yours
@@OottamnaamrA dont just put reliability here man nowadays most of the cars are reliable .actually in foreign markets endeavour is placed on a higher segment than the Toyota so just think how overpriced it is they are just using their popularity and this reliability thing .fortuner is actually heavily overpriced compared to endavour.endavour comes with 5 cylinders and is clearly a segment higher and still cost less than a fortuner(its worth buying endavour for 40 lakhs a 5 cylinder toyota offroader costs almost 50 to 60 lakhs or more )

You are doing awesome work sir .. True ,honest and genuine opinion are things we need the most in a review and you show us exactly that ..thanks to you sir with lots of love n respect 🙏🏻
Fair review. Could have expended a little more, so it help a potential buyer. So far most other reviews are off a spec script. This is very informative and everyday expected stuff
From the review what I can feel is that the gear box is bit rubbery, means, the engine rpm quickly builds though not the wheel spin. This feature is present in Toyota cvt cars like Camry.. It makes fast over taking difficult especially on state highways where there are cars from opposite side and you have to overtake very quick.
That's where the problem lies, I had earlier driven the 2.4 version, found it under powered, I believe 3.2 also suffers from similar performance issues in lower gears.
@@ecardlr Mr Sarkar has explained the gearing issue nicely below which I had overlooked earlier. I completely agree with him, endeavour is especially made for tugging trailers....
The rubber-band effect of a cvt a-la Honda’s and some of the sedans is not the same as this. I understand the phenomenon where rpm rises without corresponding speed that’s the hallmark of cvt boxes, but here it’s a different issue. The speed rises exponentially with the rpm and engine roar. It’s just that it would’ve felt ‘quieter’ if the gears swapped early instead of holding on. You can still achieve that in the Sport mode though.
Firstly the rubber band effect is not as great as in a cvt and is in the first two gears, that too only when you floor it from stand still. If you dont floor it from standstill you dont get any or very minute rubberband effect and the transmission locks fully by 30- 40 kmph and the downshifts are snappy and overtaking at city or highway speeds is a breeze with all that torque with zero rubberband effect. Just have to learn the transmission 🙂
The Endeavour isn’t a dual clutch - it’s a torque converter. Dual clutches by their design are faster to shift (the next cog is always ready with the second clutch. No hunting). And despite all the complaining about the Ford’s shifts, the noise does not mean slower pickup. Quite the opposite - it will show most diesels the boot from an acceleration point of view. And that’s not even in the Sports mode 😉
@@suvolens I didn't know the transmission of the endeavour, but the dual clutch is laggy to shift from lower gears and then shifts faster in the higher.
Harsh Rockpunch that's done to prevent the Dsg from wearing out. In gear acceleration is superb with a dsg. I had a polo gt tsi. Still regret selling it.
The shifts are dictated by the TCM (Transmission Control Module) which is software based and receives updates from time to time. The last update 'tweaked' the shift-points I guess and made things smoother than they were originally.

ecardlr I feel the need to correct the impression at this point - the 3.2 ltr/200 bhp engine is never strained or even feels it. This fact is also borne out by the Endeavour’s class-leading towing capacity of 3000 kg against the lower capacity of 2800 kgs for the Fortuner. That doesn’t take away from the incredible vehicle that is the Fortuner, but just a nod to the even more powerful Endeavour. Although used as personal transport in their SUV avatars, both the Hilux (Fortuner in truck guise) and the Ranger (Endeavour similarly) are workhorses turned lifestyle vehicles. They thrive under heavy loads and engineered primarily for that. So no - no strain on their engines anywhere :) As for the newer engines in the Endeavour internationally, they are smaller (2 lts) but more powerful in bi-turbo guise. And with 10 speed to boot. It didn’t make sense for Ford to market it in India where that much power and that many gears are an overkill, not to mention the resulting price hike. I felt some objectivity was due here 😉
Views about my endeavour 2.2 are equal it just mine has better mileage compare to 3.2. And one more thing endeavour does bounce its rear end on speed breaker which is not good for third or second row passengers. Gearbox needs to be little faster in gear changes.
