Since it's hundred years in the future you are most likely gone sad to say. But a new fairy will guide the wee king on his journey. And he sounds like you.
10 hours in and I give it an 8/10. I'd wanna let people know that the reason it's not rated higher for me is the lack of voice acting. I don't mind reading dialogue, but it's about 85% reading.
I wouldn’t say that no no kuni 2 is more mature. The whole “a country where everyone can live happily ever after” motif just grated on me, like it was a children’s story. Regardless, I loved this game however I loved its predecessor a whole lot more...
If Roland's a president I wonder if he'll take the opportunity to explain to Evan the benefits of a republic compared to a monarchy. I mean, I'm not saying Ding Dong Dell should abolish the monarchy, I'm just saying it would be interesting if Evan toyed with the concept of a republic and thought of a compromise, like implementing a Parliament of some kind or having a Senate like the Roman Empire had to improve his kingdom, whether if he reclaims Ding Dong Dell or builds his own elsewhere like the Targaryens did in Westeros after the Doom of Valyria and the Century of Blood.
I know, but like I said, it would still be interesting if Evan at least toyed with the idea after hearing about it from Roland's experience as president, and possibly thinks of a compromise or implements some ideas from a republic to his new (or reclaimed) kingdom.
Wrath of the white witch showed us what happens when you entrust the well fares of the kingdom with a cabinet of high powers 🤷♂️ they probably won’t be trying it again
I was rather bored with the battle system of the first game and the story, though decent, didn't really capture me like I expected to, so in those areas I'm looking forward to what they say will be improved in the second game. The things that have me concerned though is the addition of a multiplayer game added to a single player RPGs. These additions are almost never as good (or needed) in RPGs (looking at you Dragon Age: Inquisition and Mass Effect: Andromeda).
I'm sure the multiplayer will be the kingdom RTS feature like Brutal Legend did. And them starting their own kingdom did make me think of Brutal Legend a little.
Just got this today for $6 at Best Buy. It was $19.99. 20% off with my gamers club and $10 in reward certificates. 👍🏻 Not a fan of jrpgs but it’s hard to find new games when you have over 150 already. Only selling point for me was that it’s not turn based. I find turn based dull and boring. For $6 I guess you can’t go wrong
The first was good enough to beat but wore out its welcome near mid-late game. Idk if this will be better but it wouldn't take a whole lot to top the first...the first just looked so great
Preordering on psn will actually give 2 themes. One which is static at time of purchase, and another at release which is dynamic with joe hisashi music as the system music
CD Projekt DOWNGRADE@sony/ms/ubisoft.coN a gimmick would imply its a bad idea. There are many of my friends who preordered the physical copy and are jealous of me getting the theme :)
Wrath of the White Witch is one of my favorite game of all time. I must say the removal of Familiars and turn based battle REALLY intrudes on the amazingness the previous game had. I will definitely not get the Sp edition on this one. I need to see it more. I'm not sold. The Kingdome management seems really cool though. However, the Chibi thing, multiplayer, console exclusives, adventuring AND kingdom management really seems like they where very divided in what sort of game they where trying to make here. We'll see though...we'll see....
90sKid I wish they added something similar like in Castlevania Curse of Darkness regarding innocent devils, summon familiars along side you or maybe give the option to use familiars entirely
I haven't played this yet, but my initial impressions that it's more of a generic fantasy game but with the Ni No Kuni name attached, and a vague Ghibli style.
Ive ordered the kings edition but really want the lofty plush, i bought the white witch edition for ps3 and got the drippy plush and an amazing wizards companion book.
The only problem i have is that roland was just like, im gonna stay here in ni no kunni, like how about your family in the real world? What base that you make that he gonna stay there was the best thing to do?
Hey guys, whats the difference between the Kings cat claw, and the Dragons tooth weapon? Just for the name alone im leaning towards dragons tooth weapon but is there any major difference in getting one over the other???
All you need to know is if you like beautiful rpg's with lots of content and amazing stories buy this. You don't even need to like jrpg's. There, saved you 10 minutes.
No familiar..... i will hold on 1st. The 1st 1 is good due to familiar and upgrade. Capture n roam around seeking new familiar and lvl up is the main heart of 1st game
I'm personally not a fan that they are trying to cater to people who hated the first one by changing almost everything about it..we don't need another adult theme game and another real-time battle system. i highly dount all these changes will ake people come in droves to the second one..
Chris Forthenberry why have so many devs done that to their games this gen? "Streamline, action combat system, make more 'accessible'". I want to shake these devs.
I didn't play the first game, but we both haven't played the 2nd. Just because it has its differences from the original doesn't make it worse. Nostalgia often blinds us. Turn based combat, as I have said multiple times before, is not something the majority of players want anymore. Additionally, I'd rather have large changes in sequels because it helps separate games from there predecessors. Look at Destiny 2, which people constantly say is "Destiny 1.5". While I agree messing with a great formula can be a bad thing, in competent hands, that formula can be improved. Nostalgia will always leave you chasing that initial experience and nothing will ever live up to it, so don't let your fear of the new to keep you from enjoying what might be an amazing game. After playing hundreds, possibly thousands of games, I can tell you, if you go into each game as if it's new experience you will definitely be less disappointed, than if you constantly try to compare it to something else. Virtually every game does at least one thing well, and if the hype and dedication behind this one is anything to be believed, then this should definitely deliver a hell of a narrative. Alright I'm done ranting. I hope you enjoy the game a lot y'all.
As hype as I am for Ni No Kuni 2, what Level 5 and Sony need to work on us Dark Cloud 3. That should've been a thing a long time ago! Better late than never but still
Yeah one of the things everyone should learn it’s not the same as the first Ni Nu Kuni that made everyone fall in love with Ni Nu Kuni Level 5 ruined Ni No kuni 2 by changing the characters instead of continuing with Oliver and the white Witch to see what happens next story maybe the white Witch can be partners with Oliver but that never happened so I’m not so sure if I’ll trust Ni No Kuni 3 ever
Thank the allfather i didnt preorder this game. Just gonna call it revenant kingdom, in its own game in a standalone sense it doesnt look too bad, the combat looks smooth and the story seems intriguing, but as a direct sequel to a game that sorta broke away from the norm and brought alot of people some good times gaming, it just feels like a fan who hated most of the first took the branding under the cover of darkness and changed everything that was different and good about it. It looks awesome as a game by itself, but i dont feel it lives up to the Ni No Kuni legacy... But hey, i could be wrong, i might enjoy the shit out of this game and give it a 10! Weel see.
why the hell are so many outlets spoiling the start of the story? Why not talk about other things rather than starting every damn video talking about parts of the story?
Companies really need to stop the preorder bullshit, at least it won't change the actual game itself, however, having extra advantages in a game because u preordered is BS. I want this game to do good however this preorder culture really needs to stop. Collectors and .... editions are fine they fun alterative stuff however the stuff the impacts the game itself is stupid.
i was going to buy the game but from what i've heard they've ditched their wonderfully crafted pokemon-final fantasy12 hybrid of classic turn-based rpg that requires strategy for the more common brainless hacknslack action rpg. i'm not liking the sound of it at all..
"No familiars" instantly wrote this game off. Never played the 1st well cus I never new it existed lol but the idea of pokemon(ish) gameplay sounded fun. But now all we are left with is another generic anime looking jrpg where you run around in an arena and hit square over and over oh and maybe a triangle.
I just bought this game without thinking and after this review, there's some lingering regret. I'm still going to play it and give it a whirl, but the lack of Oliver, Familiars and it not being turn based is a huge turnoff.
yes i have watching someone play it now and they just arrived at the first town, the game looks promising and im pretty sad that i dont have a ps3 to play it on

13. 1:45 The setup
14. 1:18 There's still some Ghibli influence

You are a God
How much is the deluxe edition?
16. The kings version is cheaper and much better then the US version
Nice
honorablekunglao thank you!
There's Another Important Point, People!
...
*No More Mr Drippy.*
In A Way, I Kinda Already Knew, But It's Always Slipped My Mind. :P
This comment gave me Tidy Tears
Oh, I Remember That! XD Ahh, Good Memories...
But where am I mun
+Mr.Drippy MR DRIPPY!!! :DDDDDDDD My Favourite Character!
Since it's hundred years in the future you are most likely gone sad to say. But a new fairy will guide the wee king on his journey. And he sounds like you.
literally love you
YEY MR DRIPPY!!!!!
Flip, mun! I dunno!
I wanted to see Oliver again and Mr. Drippy 😞 well only in my dreams.
10 hours in and I give it an 8/10. I'd wanna let people know that the reason it's not rated higher for me is the lack of voice acting. I don't mind reading dialogue, but it's about 85% reading.
Picked up the King's Edition and the guide for Christmas. Can't wait to dive into it. :)
Looking forward to this game. I was obsessed with the original Ni No Kuni, and can't wait to get lost in that world again!
I wouldn’t say that no no kuni 2 is more mature. The whole “a country where everyone can live happily ever after” motif just grated on me, like it was a children’s story. Regardless, I loved this game however I loved its predecessor a whole lot more...
I shall accept this game as Little King's Story 2
Didn't pick up the first. Had a friend who swore it on back in the day. This one looks pretty interesting. Might pick it up
chaosmark101 you won't regret it.
Why don't you mention the PC version ?
HanzsKlopek Yeah most has forgotten the freaking PC version.
@@OmarFeliciano how does it run on pc , what about controls?
If Roland's a president I wonder if he'll take the opportunity to explain to Evan the benefits of a republic compared to a monarchy. KTChamberlain Monarchies stick well with the fantasy genre.
I know, but like I said, it would still be interesting if Evan at least toyed with the idea after hearing about it from Roland's experience as president, and possibly thinks of a compromise or implements some ideas from a republic to his new (or reclaimed) kingdom.

fujisawa and momose still working on this is a super + carry on that ghibli soul!
First game was amazing, already have this one pre ordered!
1 Reason to buy this. Joe Hisaishi
I'm sure the multiplayer will be the kingdom RTS feature like Brutal Legend did. And them starting their own kingdom did make me think of Brutal Legend a little.

I want this game so bad :O. Can´t wait anymore
Preordering on psn will actually give 2 themes. One which is static at time of purchase, and another at release which is dynamic with joe hisashi music as the system music
Kurama Arctica it's just a marketing gimmick for the pre order
CD Projekt DOWNGRADE@sony/ms/ubisoft.coN a gimmick would imply its a bad idea. There are many of my friends who preordered the physical copy and are jealous of me getting the theme :)

I liked Ni no Kuni quite a lot, but it had a LOT of flaws. People seem to ignore all the pacing issues.
This one also has pacing issues, so that's a moot point.
I need this game in my life
No familiars , no ni no kuni that was the best part
JIBLY
I don't wanna judge the character or the video game as a whole without playing it myself.
I was going to complain about the mis-pronounciation of the word Ghibli, only to find out that the japanese name of the studio is in fact 'jiburi'.
I haven't played this yet, but my initial impressions that it's more of a generic fantasy game but with the Ni No Kuni name attached, and a vague Ghibli style.
very informative and helpful , thank you!
There's only really 2 things you should know. 1 it's feckin awesome and 2 buy it now
The kings edition and collectors edition are for different countries.
I hope this is the next Persona 5! im pumped for this..
So in the end we got the premium Edition (in Canada) it has a soundtrack, weapons dlc,an origami set,a steelbook case but no season pass though...sadly
Great video, thank you!
I really want the soundtrack on vinyl
Ive ordered the kings edition but really want the lofty plush, i bought the white witch edition for ps3 and got the drippy plush and an amazing wizards companion book.
The only problem i have is that roland was just like, im gonna stay here in ni no kunni, like how about your family in the real world? What base that you make that he gonna stay there was the best thing to do?
So instead of pokemon they have Pikmin?
It's sad isn't
Basicly this game is less Pokemon and more Little King's Story
Hey guys, whats the difference between the Kings cat claw, and the Dragons tooth weapon? Just for the name alone im leaning towards dragons tooth weapon but is there any major difference in getting one over the other???
So i should play Ni No Kuni 1 in order to be able to get this?
Is it a direct sequel? do we know?
All you need to know is if you like beautiful rpg's with lots of content and amazing stories buy this. You don't even need to like jrpg's. There, saved you 10 minutes.
Thanks for the spoilers in your video 👍
R.i.p Mr drippy and familiars
when was ni no kuni ever a turned based game it was always real-time
how can i get a guide for this one ?,
I really dislike the main characters design. But that won't affect gamplay or story.
Is this a direct sequel? Meaning do i need to know what happen in the first game?
No familiar..... i will hold on 1st.
The 1st 1 is good due to familiar and upgrade.
Capture n roam around seeking new familiar and lvl up is the main heart of 1st game
kelvin chan thank god no more pokemons lol
Idk man. I found familiars more annoying than anything else. Grab a Dinoceros and destroy everything, done. Fighting myself seems more fun.
Colonel Jinkuro ikr? I prefer that way too.
You should hold on the your grammar. Keep it as shit as it is right now so I can make more fun of it
hope they remaster or just release the first one on ps4 too. i never got to finish it :(
that king's edition looks sweet. too bad america won't get it
Gib, man! Gib! Not Juhib!
Real original idea here,guyd
Game feels more like darkcloud 3, which is awesome 👌
The video is way more optimistic about the game than it should have been.
@Draugnaustaunikun Hymnphoo It's better than any trash square has pushed out of its bussy in the last twenty years.
will this be on the switch?
Who would win in a fight the end or quite?(unrelated)
already pre ordered the $200 collectors edition haha.
Well...I'm gonna wait for the goty.
I'm personally not a fan that they are trying to cater to people who hated the first one by changing almost everything about it..we don't need another adult theme game and another real-time battle system. i highly dount all these changes will ake people come in droves to the second one..

Alright I'm done ranting. I hope you enjoy the game a lot y'all.
the first game didn't interest me at all, I'm actually picking up this second one because of all the changes
Rpglovertash I hope you enjoy it, it's getting good reviews so maybe just maybe you'll get what you're paying for.
do you need to know the story of the first game?
so in a way Gibli is still working on it.
1. It's a prequel, not a sequel.
2. It's pronounced ghibli as in gif, not jif
If studio Ghibli made a game
When they unintentionally spoil that tani’s dad dies....?
PC version is best: 4k support, uncapped framerate, Widescreen support, faster loading times.
Roland is 48 years old?!
Edit: oh I see he is in the body of a 20 something. That makes perfect sense! (Sarcasm)
Definitely buying this one PC so more of these high quality jrpgs are released on PC the same time.
As hype as I am for Ni No Kuni 2, what Level 5 and Sony need to work on us Dark Cloud 3. That should've been a thing a long time ago! Better late than never but still
Actually, I didn't need to know none of this Shit! Straight up.

Bigger doesnt mean better.
"Released in the last few years". Dude....Ni No Kuni was released eight years ago...
why the hell are so many outlets spoiling the start of the story? Why not talk about other things rather than starting every damn video talking about parts of the story?
All I need to know is when I can get it
ps store
So higgle dees are basically Pikmin
Companies really need to stop the preorder bullshit, at least it won't change the actual game itself, however, having extra advantages in a game because u preordered is BS. Collectors and .... editions are fine they fun alterative stuff however the stuff the impacts the game itself is stupid.
the first game's random encounter gets kinda annoy after a while lol so sick of hearing "neatoooooo~!!!!!" every 3 min haha
The chibi thing is a hard turn off.
DuffyStrings yup
awful
lol as cutesy as the game is, the overworld's wht you have issues with?
^ haha right...the dude has cat ears xD
but I also agree with OP cause it's like they decided to go with the Gba feel lol...it's ps4 ffs
they've westernised this too much
This game looks cool... someone explain the games lore etc to me pls
lol, I laugh at them thinking putting older characters will make it a more mature story. The first game was more adult than this one.
Yes! No more pokemons!
i was going to buy the game but from what i've heard they've ditched their wonderfully crafted pokemon-final fantasy12 hybrid of classic turn-based rpg that requires strategy for the more common brainless hacknslack action rpg. i'm not liking the sound of it at all..
I guess they lied about multiplayer?
"No familiars" instantly wrote this game off. Never played the 1st well cus I never new it existed lol but the idea of pokemon(ish) gameplay sounded fun. But now all we are left with is another generic anime looking jrpg where you run around in an arena and hit square over and over oh and maybe a triangle.
So it's pikmin instead of Pokemon
The chibi thing is a major turn off it takes out the immersion !!!
Level5 destroyed ni no kuni!! congratulations for that!!
Why did they make the game so easy
Aaaaallllmmmoooossssttt 10 minutes.
I just bought this game without thinking and after this review, there's some lingering regret. I'm still going to play it and give it a whirl, but the lack of Oliver, Familiars and it not being turn based is a huge turnoff.
No familiars, no purchase 😓
Wait. Roland is 48 years old?!
No Ghibli :O that worries me so...
they still influenced the game.
Is this game on xbox ?
JACK_KNIFE-1
no, ps4 and PC.
Anas Bakhit good job I am the proud owner of a ps4 pro then isn't it 👍
well im intrested in this game but have not played the first one, guess il just benchwatch it xD
moffatt the first one was amazing so I'm sure the sequel will be just as good if not better.
yes i have watching someone play it now and they just arrived at the first town, the game looks promising and im pretty sad that i dont have a ps3 to play it on
They’ll probably remaster the first one sometime in the future
Ugh it's hig comma leg jee* hig leg jee like jeep they audibly say it hig leg jee the spelling doesn't matter its phonetics
The blonde dude is a guy? He... kind of looks like a girl 😅
Not gonna lie, the combat looks cack. The first had massive problems with shitty AI, and a pokemon system that was horribly scaled. Looks like they couldn't be bothered to fix it all.
