I’m LOVING how everyone is praising Matt on this because I can’t help but hone in on his baseline. And Kirstie sounds like a dream (no pun intended, I swear LOL). I love seeing the otherwise overlooked members get recognition. This has long been one of my favorite songs from my high school days and PTX just gave it a new dimension. RIP Dolores.
I'm 63 and been a music professional my whole life. I have sung in lots of groups, with some very talented people. Were they as good as Pentatonix, NO. These guys really play to the vocal strengths of each member. I think a big part of their blend and precision is related to Mitch, Scott and Kirsten singing together their whole lives. Its the same factor that lets siblings blend so well they have just done it so much that they think with one musical brain. Are they the best ever, I can only think of one group that even comes close. Long time ago I heard a group that called themselves Black African Voices these guys were so good. That is the only group I can think of that even comes close.
At some point you just run out of superlatives to describe how great PTX are. The best I ever heard and that’s not to take anything away from HF whom I also love to death. 😆🔥💥☄️
Remember on the sing off Shawn from Boys ll Men said Mitch had one of the prettiest voices he has ever heard in his entire life. I do not think you are stretching it in the least that they are the best acapella band of all time. I'm going to say it anyway. If someone wants to get made at my subjective opinion, go right ahead. I knew you would love this!! Thank you for the great boost before I go to sleep. Hope you have a great night too.
I've always shifted between Home Free and Pentatonix when it comes to the best acapella group. But then again, most acapella bands cannot be measured by the same meter. Pentatonix revolutionized the capabilities of acapella, and in that regard, they are the best. Home Free sticks to the roots and dishes out some of the best harmonies ever, and in that regard, they are the best. So there is no point comparing in general, who's better.
It really is both audibly and visually stunning.... I really hope that they do put a music vid out for the final track (Cologne) although KO has said that they apparently are not.... shame, I was being spoilt having so much music from them over the past few weeks . All these artist are amazing but that bass is astounding.. it so full and supportive. Really helps frame things.
