- I decided to see if it was possible to solo Baldur's Gate 3. The game lends itself to having a party with a variety of different skills. But I want to see if I can skip all of that and tell all my companions to get lost.

1-2 levels into Fighter and the rest into Wizard is a killer combination. You can wear full plate, shield, cast mirror image on yourself and shield and you will be unkillable. That is not mentioning all the plus 1 and other AC items you can get to enhance this. But most importantly you are a freaking Wizard, so you get all the good spells and stuff. Action surge will also allow you to cast a spell twice, if you are a sorc than 3 times
Oooooooo that’s a really good point there. I think I might have to throw some levels into wizard with Sneaky Frank here. The rouge with game spells combo might be pretty good. Thank you!!
or just play an extremely overtuned sorc/paladin mutliclass and deal 600+ damage in one turn on tactician difficulty
I prefer 1 lvl in druid and 11 lvl in thunder sorc. So good in everything.
I like 3 lvl into Druid and rest into tempest cleric- wildshapes give you a second emergency health bar and an easy escape if something goes wrong, and cleric is just arguably the best class PLUS armour proficiency

With the group of 4 outside the ruins you can kill both the fighter and the boss by fire bolting the rock hanging from a crane above them. That leaves the archer and the wizard, much more manageable

I'm at lvl 12 level playing solo. 1 lvl druid and 11 lvl in sorc. And its my first run :) but i Play on EA.
Oh dang!! Out of curiosity why only one level in Druid?
@@natesgamebox I need some spell from druid list and i also got middle armor + shield. I need only 2 perks +2 to stats and battle mage. It was just my build without any yt guides, so i thinks its much much worst than any other yt builds.

I also named him Sneaky Frank so he is extra sneaky. My logic may be flawed now that I think about it…
I'm going to be finished with my second run soon. Going to do my third as Durge and monk I think. I'm excited about it.

I did a solo dark urge rogue run. act 1 went perfectly well, act 2 only ketheric was kinda hard because invisibility bugs his bossfight.
Oh man, yea I haven’t even gotten past act two in my normal play through I’m doing on the side. The game is so long, but I love that because the game is great.
@@natesgamebox The hardest part about that run really is circumventing all the bugs related to the enemies losing aggro on you.
Cutscene transitions dont start if no player character is visible. That makes some fights not possible to win unless you go out of stealth (which often results in your death since rogues aint tanky)
Ahhhh that makes some sense. I’ve found a couple weird agro bugs already so I figured there might be more

I believe you should have chosen Duergar as your race. You get infinitely reusable invisibility at level 5 (I think)
Wait that’s AMAZING. I think you’re right. I know some duergar you fight later in the game can go invisible. Didn’t know they were a playable race tho

This was easier in bg 1/2 as experience was split between the party - so you levelled up much faster alone. Also since bg3 is 5e i figured a sorcadin or padlock (ha!) would be pretty good still.
Padlock is a great name for a character class lol. And true! I’m thinking about level 4 and beyond taking either warlock or sorcerer levels. Any thoughts what might be better for soloing?
@@natesgamebox since you can short rest at will id say warlock, if you went 5/5 you got 3 attacks not sure if they patched that

If you go full wizard, Githyanki start out with medium armor proficiency

Solo tactian rogue assassin and gloomstalker ranger is not fun. I'm just abusing the poor AI by using the hide action and then they just stand around and use voice lines without moving or taking actions. I'm doing a dark urge "kill literally everything" playthrough and some of these fights are beyond brutal. Definitely doable though.
Agreed, I’m trying not to cheese too much by hiding. Actually planning to multi class and get some magic for later levels!

@@natesgamebox take thief for sure add more dex at level four, im nearly max. I've cleared a few of the main hurdles in act one, hit and run tactics

I was thinking of attempting this challenge or some variety of it. I'd really like to figure out how to do it on max difficulty though. I wonder if there is a specific way to make all events manageable with minimum cheese.
Well doing tactician is a good start. I’m just playing on standard difficulty. You could trying doing something where you limit how many long rests. Maybe you can only take a long rest after a major story event or something. I’m sure there’s plenty of ways to make this game more painful lol
Tbh i think you should be alowed to have Us in these runs.

Paladin(cleric)\abjuration wizard is really good since the shield u get from that wizard class is really broken and paladin because smite

I've beat game with solo character( 6 fighter(champion) / 6 rogue (thief) in 36 hours (timer on save file). Granted alot of people beat game in same way on tatician, so it is totaly feasible. Comment no to brag but to give some spoiler free tips - gather alot of empty crates, hoard scrolls - shield, mirror image,blur,grease,fog cloud,misty step,summons. Get minor image cantrip ( its amazing).

Out of curiosity, what do you use all the empty crates for?
how TF do you finish the game in 36H ? XD i have 45H on my file and iam not even in baldurs gate xD did you skip half the game !?
@@natesgamebox You can stack crates to make ladder,bridge and barricade( i've seen people apply same logic evenly if they have full squad). More so you can use empty crates as sorting tool inside you chest in your camp. There is one broken feature - you can brake npc pathing by barricade's, more brkone still that you can barricade door, move your barricade in you tern make a shots and then move it back. Although i'll advise use as desparate option.
@@xenan1321Spoiler free. Obviously i skiped all act one companion quest( Shadowfart etc), i've never meet the "M friend", didint finish "Em friend" quest line, "J friend" disappeared from my camp and i dont know why. Lastly i've missed closure with "R".
As soon as i hit 12 lvl in act three i went straight for main story skipping few quests that i know of and propably some i didnt know now. In fairness i must add that a played act one on alpha few times, played divinity games and paper dnd previously - all that added good base knowledge for mechanics ect.

i also had a strane encounter i gone in my camp after almost killing the entire crash and gale, halsin and scratches where hostile wowards me and when my paladin killed scratches the oathbreaker knight also joined the fight now i have a broken paladin in the truest sence of the word cause i can´t regain my oath hense i can´t even respec xD

you say you a loto goblin xD but missed 2 chest in the first srea1 and where shadowheart is there are also 2 chest you can loot xD also a lot of loot in the boosfight room
also i personaly find strength based rouge is way stronger in my opinion.

also if you want you can chese the boss fight on the nautiloid if you want just put the 3 lagre chest at the entrance to the boss fight and than the reenfocements can´t get thtere and you have all 20 or rather 19 rounds to kill all the adds and the general / mindflayer if you do that you get 75Exp from both of than and basicly start the game with lvl 2.

Monk deletes everyone before they can kill you and dodges well
Trueee. I forgot they have good dodging
Monk/ranger could do well.
Both allow stealth and can get decent AC. I would say ranger would be great due to the animal companion.
I like that call!! I think I might add some monk into my thief later in this play through.
@natesgamebox4137 potions of fly, and anything that further increases your movement will be amazing. Essentially, you make the waste their actions getting to you. While you just use hit and run tactics.
