I saw this wonderful show on its original run, and the “ice water” bit with Georgia Engel made me laugh as hard as anything I’ve ever seen in a theater. Pure magic. I’ve been looking for it ever since-it doesn’t seen to be part of the version of the show chopped up into bits that’s been on TH-cam forever. I finally found it in this video, which might be the biggest thrill TH-cam has ever given me. You can’t beat seeing it live, in context, without ever having seen it before. But thank goodness I can revisit it now. Thank you.
i WISH i could’ve seen it live. the original one. this one. it just seems awesome, sutton foster is such a good musical actor she’s amazing and this whole musical is. i wish i could be in the audience…..
Heheh yes the chopped-to-bits version doesn't have the Feldzig-and-Adolpho early scene either. The other (later?) version seems more streamlined but this one does have good close-ups. I was already a fan of Sutton Foster but now I have to look for plays w/ Beth Leavel in them. Edit to add OH MAN does that "try not to think of the poodles" line hit different after seeing this version. w/o that scene I thought it was about Adolpho's bouffant hair.
ik this is late but thank you sm for uploading i had no idea what this show was when my local company announced it and needed to watch it so thank youu
