Always knew Andy would be something special. I remember seeing his free hand on an eldar tank. Probably 18 years ago. Tribal pattern. Dam come a long way, an I though it was next level 18 years ago
Interestingly the green has completely different levels of saturation on my phone and my laptop at the same point in the video, so I guess I don't really know what the real one would look like. I never really think about that, but I guess that's why nothing beats seeing a model in the flesh.
Watched it on Patreon when released, it’s so nice to hear your thoughts about it and not just seeing a 10 min tutorial. Always wondered what happened to your old SoH Andy?
I like the color. The close up shots help because I don't really understand what the expectation should be in a higher quality paint job. Especially when all you see is glamour shots on social media
If i ever get to painting soh, this is how i’ll go about it. The desaturated scheme is much more atmospheric and fitting for this legion, than the bright and almost happy official scheme. Its also kinda funny how many youtubers have used green sky and achieved a scheme in imitation of yours. i doubt if they all realise.
Hey Andy, in my never ending search for a Sons of Horus colour scheme, I stumbled upon AK Dark Green Grey. It is a very similar hue to the games workshop, but it's opaque. Maybe you will like it? cheers from Spain
Really liked this video. Im actually using this green recipe for my Sons of Horus and my Chaos Warriors for the upcoming old world. I have a kitbashed standard bearer and this video will really help me out since i want to put some moore effort on him. Thanks for this vid!
Unsure if anyone else has the same experience as me, but when it comes to NMM I completely understand how it works when I'm away from a model and van visualise where the paint needs to go etc, but when I actually sit down to paint my brain for some reason loses that ability and it's all of a sudden a lot more confusing.
Same dude. I think this is just a case of getting in the time so your synapses start forming the visualisation of what you want in your head to what your hands and eyes do on the model. I reckon that is just time and hands on practice more than anything else. 😊

Andy thanks for shareing , awesome vid and love this model . As per normal you nailed it . I'd personally love to see more on this model from yourself
Oh man this is making want to paint but I still have the main box set and a handful of dark angel specific boxes to build first!

Cool
Awesome work! Did you consider adding highlights under the dark brown chipping in some areas to make them pop more?
Not a fan of that look. I used to do it all the time and my taste changed
@@andywardle2988 That green looks great, looking forward to the next video.
Very cool! Tbh I also have been searching for a SoH that matches the FW books! so it's great to get your insights
Did GW change the saturation on SoH Green recently? If so, is there a solid replacement color from another company?

Can I do this without airebrush as I can’t afford. The blend with airbrush looks good
For sure, all the real blending is done with brush. Airbrush it just the base colours really.
God
2:57 Is his right shin/calf plate black in this pic?
Anyone know what Lee's series mentioned close to the start of the video is?
"these" not "lee's"
@@cultofpaint that makes more sense!!!! Haha
Cult of War vs Tabletop Tactics: Maloghurst
Does Andy have his own YT? I REALLY enjoyed this.
