@@IWrocker I happened to be driving behind a Ford Falcon of the same model one day. The road (near my house) takes a sharp left 90 degree bend and the curb on the inside corner sticks out further than it should. Well the car in front just clipped the curb while rounding the corner. It hit the sidewall of the left rear tyre and dislodged the bead, and deflated straight away. When the car pulled over I stopped behind them and got out to see if I could help. It was a mum with 3 young kids in the back. I said I'd change it for her, just stay in the car and keep the engine running so they still had air conditioning (mid day sun and 38*C [100.4*F]). For some reason the spare tyre had been taken out of her car, something she wasn't aware of. Well with my Falcon being of the same model, it shared the same stud pattern as hers, so I put my spare onto her car. We exchanged names, address and contact details and I wished her well. I wasn't sure I was going to see my spare again or not, but the next day she called me up and said she'd had her tyre replaced and I could pick up my spare from her house. When I got there she had my spare tyre and a carton of beer (the [un]official Australian unit of currency) already chilled. This isnt a stand out situation, this is everyday stuff. You guys seen that Oz highway patrol where a kid gets a speeding ticket and gives the cops heaps of attitude? He speeds away and on cop says “he’s doing 60 again. Should we give him another ticket?” Laughs - yeah, ---- it, why not!”
Our (in Victoria anyway) highway patrol cars are colourful so that they easily stand out if they have someone pulled over in the service lane so you know to slow down near them and not hit the officer
Maybe America should take note... Alot of Police Vehicles here are black or dark colors, almost impossible to see at night without their lights which also rapidly flash so hard it disorients drivers coming up on them
Yes the balloon saver was a Police Officer. Sunshine state is Queensland who also carry the tourism slogan “beautiful one day, perfect the next”. In Australia, we refer to good deeds as mateship. Cheers from Down Under 😉🇦🇺
I was on crutches a few months ago If I was in a shop I was constantly stunned by home many people offered to help me or carry things to my car. Mostly Australians are good people It restored my faith in humanity
Good deeds warm the cockles of our hearts. No matter who or where you are. Even telling a stranger that their outfit looks nice on them brings happiness. It all helps in passing it forward.
It’s called Hungry Jacks in Oz because when they came here there was already a business named “Burger King”, so they had to call it something else, ala Hungry Jacks. We call them Highway Patrol cars “Candy Cars” because theyre so colourful like a bag of Skittles. Mate you know enough about us now, youd pass the citizenship test easy as…. Imo you are an Aussie already mate
It used to be Burger King until the lawsuit in 2002, they ceased operations and transferred all their assets to Hungry Jacks who took over all the Burger Kings. I remember it being Burger King here when I was a kid, I used to eat it often. Now Burger King is sort of back in Australia as Carls Jr which is another burger franchise owned by them, Burger King bought Carls Jr (an American burger franchise originated in California) in 2010. Though Carls Jr Australia isn't owned by Burger King directly, they pretty much operate here as Carls Jr since it's being franchised here, and a Famous Star tastes identical to a Whopper.

Bill, it's our heritage our tradition and time we all realised it and embrace it as our tradition, we often forget that we do have one! Banished here under the harshest of conditions, to hard labour and servitude, lashings and the cruelest of treatment. At the end of out term released with nothing but the clothes on our backs and always looking over our shoulder at the establishment (the British) and the original people who saw us as invaders. The only way to survive was to "count on a mate" for help and support, that irreverance for authority and "give a bloke a go" and "fair crack of the whip" and our always being there for and supporting the underdog "need a hand Mate" it is in our DNA and why we are who we are. So when others put on their national dress and embrace their long held traditions and customs, we live ours every day! So very proud to be Australian 💕🇦🇺

Interesting fact about motorcycle riding in New South Wales. When you get your licence to ride a bike in NSW, you have to do a course first. The first thing you have to be able to do is pick your bike up off the ground by yourself. If you can’t do it, they fail you and send you home right then and there. When I did my course it happened to a kid in my group, he tried to pick up the bike (a little Honda 250cc) for what felt like a really long time but just couldn’t get the thing upright. The instructor gave him so much time but the poor kid just couldn’t do it.
13:55 They were jump starting the bike, when a car or bike doesn't start (and it's manual) you hold the clutch in, get someone else to push it as fast as they can and then dump the clutch in second gear with the ignition on which causes the car/bike to start.
I use 2nd gear, lower compression, more chance of a successful push start, easier on the blokes helping out and definatly easier when your by yourself, i push started a HZ Kingswood by myself, couldn't get it 1st, switched to second, boom, first time, used 2nd ever since..lol
I used to have to do a hill start every morning in winter with my old 1975 Mitsubishi Galant - it didn’t like the cold. Sucked if it didn’t start by the time I ran out of hill.
Australian ambulances are Mercedes Sprinters (normally) Edit: that type of fence looks like a wire fence, wooden posts with 4 or more runs of wire horizontally strung.
We don't have Dashcam but My Sister and I live about a 15 minute drive from Atherton. Where The Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland (it's up a Mountain Range behind Cairns) gets it name from. While still a Country Town it's pretty busy, everyone does their shopping there. If the Flow Of Traffic isn't to heavy My Sister will stop the car for Pedestrians Trying To Cross The Road. So they don't have to stand around in The Sun or Rain too long. It also a Popular Tourist Destination you get practically everything except The Great Barrier Reef that you'll find on Coast. With Cooler Temperatures, many Tourists visit both. Every year plenty of visitors decide they like the area so much they'll move here. In general we're pretty considerate. Except when someone is driving Too Far under the speed limit, even then We generally won't Yell About it. We'll usually say "Hello!", stop to talk to people or Help Others. At Supermarkets it's common for a customer at a checkout to put a divider in place for next customer. I'm 5'9 with a long reach and was raised to be A Lady. With Simple Elegance as well as being Good to others. I routinely hold doors open for people. If someone does that for Me, I make a point of Thanking Them. In Shops and Supermarkets I regularly help people who can't reach items they want. Sometimes if I see that items on higher shelves are too far back I'll pull them closer for other customers.
Grew up in Cairns and regularly camped around Lake Tinaroo on the Tablelands. I have fam in Ravenshoe nowadays. I love where I live in Victoria, but the Tablelands are a great place to visit!

That's the Aussie way!! Same as when you're in a queue of busy traffic and someone wants to enter from the side road, most Aussies will signal them to move in and then that driver would signal with a type of thank you wave/hand signal. It's just how we were raised.
In my experience Aussies will always stop to help anyone. Last week I pulled over to take a phone call, 4 cars stopped to ask if I was ok - I live in the mid-north of South Aust and was in the middle of no where!

the clip around 13:33 what they did was push-start the bike, its what you do if you have a flat battery, busted ignition or cant kick-start. its easier to do down hill because you roll the bike while its in 1st or 2nd gear with your hand on the clutch and when you pick up enough momentum you let go of the clutch and this cranks your bike over to start it
I rode motorcycles for many years and suffered a few accidents. Every time, people would rush over to help me and make sure I was alright. If you have ever helped anyone on the road, thank you! Your kindness makes a great difference and is not forgotten.

The Burger King trademark name was already taken in Australia. So they called it Hungry Jacks. Hungry Jacks tried to purchase the Burger King trademark, but failed. In the late 90s the Burger King trademark expired in Australia. In 2001 Hungry Jacks finally got their Burger King trademark in Australia, but after years attempting to acquire the Burger King name. The fast food company made a surprise decision. They ended up keeping the Hungry Jacks name in Australia because it was already well established. But now they own the Burger King trademark so nobody else could take it.

17:07 Drakes Supermarkets, Caltex Woolworths, Target and Nissan Drakes used to be Drakes IGA but they split off to start their own Woolworths-like chain. But that one used to be a Woolworths as Woolworths moved up the road to a new shopping centre they built. Speaking of phasing out, Woolworths sold Caltex Woolworths to Euro Garages and Caltex Australia was fired by Chevron who re-entered the market by buying Puma Energy Australia, so now they are phasing out the Caltexs in favour of AMPOLs (their co-predecessor) and probably EGs.
One morning I was driving to college in an old Ford Telstar, stuck in peak hour traffic (middle lane, 3 lanes), Gympie rd, Brisbane. Suddenly a huge huntsman spider (large as the span of your hand) crawls accross the windscreen and onto my open drivers side window, onto the top of my seatbelt bracket and thankfully back out the window.....I almost had a accident, panic attack, freaked out completely and to make matters worse, I had to use a set of pliers to wind the window back up as the handle had fallen off....I have arachnophobia ..... scary stuff 😅

A spider on the roof isn’t too bad, it’s when spidey is hiding on top of your sun visor and decides to drop in your lap when you put the visor down that the trouble starts. It’s not uncommon for huntsman spiders to crawl into your car and hide there, particularly if you’ve parked under a tree.

It's funny that spider doesn't phase me. You just grow up with it and get used to it here. It happens to me at least twice a year where there is a huntsman in my car. They are pretty much harmless. A bite is not much more serious than a bee sting. Huntsman spiders keep other more venomous spiders away. If I have one inside my house I just leave it be.

Yes! A gf of mine lives in the bushy outskirts of Melbourne, she was stopped in traffic in Ringwood and another driver told her there was a snake dangling from under her 4wd. She pulled over and a brown snake dropped and slithered off. She was really grateful especially as she had her 4 kids in the car. Aussies are great.

That is excellent to hear! Go Aussies 😎😎
Someone needs help, you try and help them out.
Last summer, I spotted an elderly couple broken down. Radiator was overheating, I stopped to see their radiator was empty. I grabbed the 2 x 2 litre soft drink bottles of water from my "boot" to refill their radiator. I met them again at the servo & the old bloke offered me $50.00. I declined as I said the bottles were free & so was the water. He refilled the bottles & went on his way.

You guys seen that Oz highway patrol where a kid gets a speeding ticket and gives the cops heaps of attitude?
He speeds away and on cop says “he’s doing 60 again. Should we give him another ticket?”
Laughs - yeah, ---- it, why not!”
Our (in Victoria anyway) highway patrol cars are colourful so that they easily stand out if they have someone pulled over in the service lane so you know to slow down near them and not hit the officer
Maybe America should take note... Alot of Police Vehicles here are black or dark colors, almost impossible to see at night without their lights which also rapidly flash so hard it disorients drivers coming up on them
Same in WA👍
Yes the balloon saver was a Police Officer. Sunshine state is Queensland who also carry the tourism slogan “beautiful one day, perfect the next”. In Australia, we refer to good deeds as mateship. Cheers from Down Under 😉🇦🇺

Same happened to me. Bikes are heavier than they look and I was a 49kg youngster 😂😂
Its also not all of nsw western areas don't have to do the course.
Yeah well female cops should be able to drag there crippled 100kg + partner out of harms way but equality
13:55 They were jump starting the bike, when a car or bike doesn't start (and it's manual) you hold the clutch in, get someone else to push it as fast as they can and then dump the clutch in second gear with the ignition on which causes the car/bike to start.
With most cars being automatic these days, this is almost a lost art. People have never been able to do it.
I have an old video on how to do that with my old manual trans Saturn VUE haha
@@glennarmstrong7891 I know how 😉 I wasn't aware that is what they were doing in time haha
I use 2nd gear, lower compression, more chance of a successful push start, easier on the blokes helping out and definatly easier when your by yourself, i push started a HZ Kingswood by myself, couldn't get it 1st, switched to second, boom, first time, used 2nd ever since..lol

With Cooler Temperatures, many Tourists visit both. Every year plenty of visitors decide they like the area so much they'll move here. In general we're pretty considerate. Except when someone is driving Too Far under the speed limit, even then We generally won't Yell About it. We'll usually say "Hello!", stop to talk to people or Help Others. the clip around 13:33 what they did was push-start the bike, its what you do if you have a flat battery, busted ignition or cant kick-start. its easier to do down hill because you roll the bike while its in 1st or 2nd gear with your hand on the clutch and when you pick up enough momentum you let go of the clutch and this cranks your bike over to start it

This is also where our “no tipping” attitude comes in. We kind of expect people to do the right thing and not to ask for a reward for doing it. It is taught to us at an early age.
