I was born in 1997 so I unfortunately never had the chance to grow up in the 90's. All decades have their faults, but there's just something so innocent and nostalgic about the 90's that's reflected in its music. Things seemed better back then.
As someone born in 1998, I can totally see this. I think the reason is that we were likely some of the very last people to be born to see what the world was like before we got so divided as people on top of also being the last people to remember what it was like before the internet really took over everything (not that it didn't exist when we were children, but we weren't so heavily reliant on it back then like we are now).
I was born in 89 and i can still remember all these songs tied to memories, and people using this one to break up haha. I was only 5 when it dropped..that tells u something lol.The 90s were a different time than now for sure
90s music just hits different. I typically doc not enjoy pop but Jewel is good and i love Grunge and shoegaze. Indie and that sweet OG 90's emo. So much beautiful both in the mainstream and not, that's still being discovered. It's my favorite era for music tbh
1996... bad, bad breakup. I rented a beat-up, ramshackle house in a rough neighborhood. I furnished it with Salvation Army furniture and yard sale finds. I hated having days off from work. I'd walk from room to room , listening to this, thinking I'd never be okay again. Eventually i was, but this song carried me through that winter.
It be songs like this and "Nothing Compares to You" that I be asking, like who are they singing too. They must be terrific for this to come out from inspiration.
I found this because even though I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before, it still feels familiar to me as if I heard it a thousand times before. I heard my mom sing along to it in the living room from my bed and a feeling of familiarity washed over me. Idk how but somewhere I heard this before…
I know we may not be meant for this life time And somehow in someway I'm supposed to heal without him... But. Music will always give me a glimpse of a life we've had before or the life we could've had. Chad. I still love you so unconditionally and I subtly wait for you everyday. Slips into my subconscious, I don't even mean to think of you anymore. And my God do I miss you so bad. Just the sight of you will give me rest. I just need to be in your presence. In your energy. It heals me. In a way I can't explain. I've loved you since I was still a kid. Every version of me loves you. Or maybe it's trauma. Who knows....God knows. I'll pray tonight.
jewel I love this song so much thank you my mother showed me it and I loved it I know it off by heart its amazing what a single song can do but this ain't a single ITS THE BEEEEEEEEST
Trying to relate this to God, life, meaning, just being present. Romance is what greed uses to take our hard earned $. I believe God’s love is best, I’m old, wish I hadn’t worshipped romance, ashes. Phoenix!
I have an inexpensive but yummy recipe to share if you want to feature it on your channel. its 1lb of beef, 1 small onion (or onion powder), 2 garlic cloves (or garlic powder), 2 cans of campbells vegetable soup, 1 large can of pork and beans, 1 can of chick peas drained, 3 cups water, 2 celery stalks chopped, 1 can of corn, 1 can of greenbeans, salt, pepper, italian seasoning, and worchestershire sauce. - its basically one of those what you have in the cupboards meals. you just brown the beef and then add everything else. you can also add pasta or rice if wanted. it makes a lot!
An intentionally bittersweet song, but in my opinion beset by sappy, saccharine, cloying lyrics all too SWEEEETTT! And subject to making your diabetic coma warrant. As nauseating as when Rod McKuen wrote and composed "I Think Of You" for Perry Como in 1970. That too was victimized by syrupy, little child-happy lyrics, but at least showed SOME restraint where due, yet being a Como fan, I would still do my digestive system a favor. But "You Were Meant For Me" makes me run so fast for the head, that it's miraculous Gloria Estefan wasn't the artist! I just got violently ill; that made it easier to be up front where this song is concerneGE....MY EGGO PANCAKES AN MY POACHED EGGS, AN' THIS SONG HAVE ME BACK TO THE HEAD.......E-EGGG-GGG-O!!!
Rainy day in Seattle walking to my recovery meeting, wearing a Walkman.....thanks for the memories and God bless you all.
Hope you stayed sober

I was born in the 90's. So I might have heard this song before, but if I did,I don't remember.
The office anyone?
Is this like a rather early recording? It sounds different than the one I usually hear. Less perfectly refined, more unique and amateur in a good way
I remember wen me and u danced to this song our last days together before she got out u left so broken
I love it its nice❤!!!
