The car you saw was the old Opel Astra from the late 2000s. Even before Tesla had such a roof, Opel and Citroen were doing it like this. The one part of the roof is retractable making it a much better solution than what tesla currently has. Also, in the US, you guys did actually get Opels but they were rebadged as Buicks. The Opel Insignia for example was rebadged to the Buick Regal for the US market.
