It still amazes me that this isn't as well-known as other sites. As you say, there should be a plaque at it too with information. Interesting as always. Thanks for this.
Will have to pay a visit to this next time I am in Edinburgh. I love seeing these standing stones and cairns. Been to a few now but never heard of this one.
@AScottishOdyssey my friend lives in Edinburgh so might have to pop along with her - we are both Outlander fans so the standing stones are up our street.🤫
There a replica of the charriet in built for the celts exhibition at for the museum of scotland. Belive they found the wheels when expanding the car garage near by. There at least one more standing stone on the edge of the building besides the custom signs unit can see it from the top deck of a bus wonder if it was moved there or it a circle in a circle as it the opposite side of the round about. always intended to get off and have a exploring fantastic vidio.
I might have to go back to the National Museum of Scotland to try and see the chariot. I hope that you get to go out and explore these sites, and that you enjoy them.
How could a Neolithic chambered cairn so close to Edinburgh not be famous? I would have thought that something like this would be better known. It looks like an interesting wee place.
City of Edinburgh council would have it wrecked and built on for expensive private built houses rather than preserve it. I hope it's a protected site, Historic Scotland?
@@SaveEarthPlsBeKind I can't see anything about online being in the care of Historic Scotland. It should be. It's definitely sheduled, and so is protected by law. But, as has happened in the past, an archaeological site being protected by law, hasn't protected it.
@@AScottishOdyssey Thanks, yep shld b protected fully, so important historically and culturally. I will look into it a bit more. The LabCons council no doubt would love to hand it to building corporations, just look at the view. They considered taking our allotments away (spectacular view towards the city) a few years ago, too many Newtown folk there tho, so no luck but the views if thy ever get to build on it would be amazing 😞

What an interesting site. I do agree with you. There should be more information boards up at this site.
Yeah, having information boards would definitely be a good addition to the site.

Yeah, with it being fairly easy to get to as well. I’m glad that you enjoyed the video

It does seem to be one that is overlooked. I parked on Bridge Street.

@@pbc0174 I hope that both of you really enjoy your visit.
Never heard of this Fascinating
I hadn’t heard it either, until recently. It definitely deserves to be better known. I’m glad that you found it interesting

I agree. Somewhere like Huly Hill would normally be pretty well known. Hopefully interest in the site will increase.

Probs best kept quiet Edinburgh is plagued by vandals and graffiti now, the LabourTorylibdems run council don't care.
