I'm probably reading too far into this but Toren the fairy guy's troops all wear soldier gear, which needs monster parts to be upgraded. You basically just have to prove your worth to gain more strength from the great fairy. Because they're the elite soldier group, they all probably had to provide their own monster parts to get good gear, meaning they really are just good soldiers and not just random dudes with good armor
In BOTW, Tulin is part of the Flight Range Archery mini-game when you beat the divine beast. His dad takes him there to train to be a warrior. There, Tulin has you play an archery mini-game so that he can observe your archery skills. He looks up to you because he’s seen how good you are at the bow while in the air.
yes i remembered how in botw tulin and teba talked about how much he wanted to see link shoot, it's so cool when tulin yells "LINK!!" in his cutscene in totk, he's so excited because that's literally his childhood hero come to see him so wholesome, i nearly died
Aw, back when tulin was none the wiser that playtime was actually training; Teba tells you this in botw that he is training tulin but to his son it was just something fun they did. Also I _adore_ the fact tulin views link like a big brother, it's so cute. Such unadulterrated joy at seeing him again. Also teba raised and trained him well, his AI feels the smartest to reflect all that.
Here's a more sad detail I've noticed. In BotW when you enter Hateno for the first time you're confronted by Thadd, a farmer who had taken it upon himself to become the town's guard. His wife is terrified of you at first, before apologising with an egg (from their many chickens) and rambling on about her family and her inability to not drop eggs. In TotK, Thadd is in Lookout Landing instead, longing to go back home. Hateno guard duties have been taken over by their son Tebo during the day, or his scaredy-cat wife at night. Both of them miss him (his wife is so lonely she briefly starts hitting on Link) and mention they watch the gate because that's what Thadd used to do. Most of their chickens are gone, having been sold to the ranch at the other end of town. Seems like the family has hit some serious financial troubles that Thadd had to look for work halfway across the kingdom.
Ohhhhh I was wondering where the farmer dude went! I laughed when the wife started complementing link and then gave him an Egg😂 Like MADAM What are you insinuating with this egg🤔 I suppose Link is about 20 years old in TOTK cuz I’ve caught 3 NPCs openly hitting on him😂
i don‘t think so, don‘t their chicken just go up to hateno lab with the elderly man during the day? the farmer was a guard, so he probably has at least more fighting skills than the average hateno resident… i think he just felt the need to help out when he heard about the upheaval.
I got good news, the chicken aren't sold ! :) They just have an agreement with the old man, he'll bring them up to the tech lab for a little walk every day, I think. I can't remember if it's because she has a hard time taking care of them on her own, or because of something else, though...either way, yeah, it is sad that they're separated like that :(
Actually, Hudson didn’t make the Hateno school. Zelda’s journal in her house states that she actually commissioned Bolson to do it, which was to be his final job in construction before retiring.
@@holyelephantmg8838 Lurelin was after his retirement. He stopped working in construction and travelled Hyrule. Eventually finding Lurelin. And now living there. The rebuilding of Lurelin was more a way to thank the people there. As far as we know, he’s still retired
I really like how they went to some lengths of building Zelda up more as a person, leaning hard on her being an archeology nerd, but also just the world having bits of dialogue and writing and NPCs talking about stuff she has done. It builds a sense of time passing between the two games, like years have passed and many things have happened since BOTW. But it also succeeds in opening up this image of what Zelda is like as a person, as a ruler, why she is so beloved around the kingdom, without having us just watch her talk in cutscenes. It's really smart, subtle stuff.
I was curious to how zelda would unite the races and could possibly reject her ascension. But it seems like everyone is bent head over heels for her...
@@FierceDeity35 I really want to see a scene where the leaders of the races (not the sages), starting with Riju, followed by Buliara, then Kaneli followed by Tulin, the Goron Elder then Yunobo bowing before Zelda swearing to the Kingdom of Hyrule followed by "Queen Zelda". Then flash back to where Princess Sonia and Raurur stand facing the races and getting the oath, followed by shocked Face by Raurur getting addressed as "King Rauru", only to Sonia locking confused about getting addressed as "Queen Sonia". (in my head, the Hylians as a race live in the principality of Hyrule under the Prince or Princess of Hyrule. The Kingdom of Hyrule is the unification of the races and King is just the Title of the ruler of the united forces. The title "princess Zelda" is thus not the lack of coronation - it is her proper title as ruler of the Hylian Race and "the Kingdom of Hyrule" is in fact formed in an oath every time with every ruler - not inherited) Sure, there are Zora Kings, Princess and Princesses - but that fits with real world history where "Prince" was a title distinct from "King", only because of Britain, we somehow linked "Prince" with "Heir", because their Heir is Prince (and ruler) of Wales.
yeah, i loved those little details in the game, just learning more about the princess through the world and the little traces she's left in it and the people she's helped
The best thing about tiny details in almost any media is that it would feel complete and satisfying without them, but with them, it just leaves you with a sense of satisfaction that can never really be replicated of knowing something that felt specifically put there for people like you.
An it shows the proper dedication. There are plenty of movies, shows, and games, where you can see obvious shifts in the plot. Strands abandonded. Things introduced out of nowhere. And things completely changed It feels like a lot of the time., they dont even bother to watch/go through the previous one(s) when they're making the new one
I love the Koko and Cottla quest, in botw you see Koko trying to be a good big sister while still mourning about her moms death and in totk you see her grown up and acting more mature. In the mornings you can see her and her family outside impas house praying for there mom along side Dorian. The fact that they still mourn for there mother is so heartbreaking and I Lowkey teared up when I found Cottlas hide out
yes, I liked the changed and development to Kakariko as well! Also, the changes to Garudo town before and after the temple. I did think it was too bad thatthe snow/sand boots were so expensive tho, especially since they broke the ecomomy the way they did.
I think Toren is supposed to be inexperienced, because when you attack monster camps with his squad, he says "uh, attack!" Whilst the other two are more confident
Yeah, I think he eventually did find the great fairy after BotW which then blessed him so he became a strong fighter, but his crew in TotK is one of his first times fighting with a team
one of my favourite changes in the game is what happened with Granté, the guy in Tarrey Town in BotW who could sell you rare armour and the Hylian Shield if you were to lose them in TotK, he's actually the one who helps you build your new house― but he changed his name to Grantéson to be able to work at the company silly details like that always make me happy
i don‘t think they‘re divorce, Robbie has a minor line about wanting to retire somewhere nice with her one day, and explicitly says her name. I think it‘s more that Jerrin enjoys being useful at lookout landing and/or expects Robbie to return from Hateno somewhat soon
A fun Easter egg that I feel doesn't get mentioned enough - The characters from the Gerudo Canyon questline - Sesami and his friends Flaxel, Canolo, Oliff, and Palme - are all named after various oils (sesame, flaxseed, canola, olive, palm).
it might be a translation thing, but in japanese, a LOT of sheikah seem to be named after fruit. most people in hateno, especially the women, are named after vegetables or other plants. every player in the band except for one have instrument names… hylian parents sure love their puns, no other tribe is that obvious with their naming patterns :D
My favorite NPC arc is Loone. I’m BotW, she was obsessed with guardians and wanted to see photos of them. In TotK, she’s obsessed with the large skeletal remains and wants them to be restored.
Somehow I haven't found her, probably walked right past her and didn't see. The other person I've not run into (and realized it at least) is the girl who was fighting with the cooking pot in the far corner of Gerudo Desert and sending up (as Link puts it) a "smoke signal".
I actually tried to find her in the spot where she used to sit and was like “where is the crazy guardian lady!”. Thankfully she has an even bigger role in TotK
Branli's Rito assistant is Mimo, who also ran a paraglider flying minigame in BotW. Its funny that these two are now running a flying minigame together, and in the same spot that Mimo ran his in BotW on top of that, which Branli even comments on.
Teba was my favorite hero in BOTW. Sidon, Riju, and Yunobo are all the fated rulers of their tribe with a duty to protect their people. Teba was just some guy who really wanted to fight a giant bird while everyone was begging him to stop.
Not sure if these are necessarily cooler but I really liked that Traysi went from leaving random rumor messages across the stables to owning a newspaper. Magda (aka Flowerblight Ganon lol) now taking care of a garden for Zelda also was a natural evolution. I also liked Dr. Calip, one of the few scholars in BOTW, being at the center of the Zonai research in TotK. He even started to feel like all of his studying had paid off by the end of the quest he was involved in. Oh and like others have said, the picture with the Champions is still in the house if you have a save file with completed Champion's Ballad DLC. I took a picture of it and its now up in my (new) house.
One of the newspaper side quests has Magda in it and I love how she just abruptly appears with no warning like a jumpscare to catch anyone who felt the flower's wrath in BOTW off guard.
An interesting tidbit about the BotW Great Fairy Fountain locations in TotK: while the one in Kakariko was destroyed by a Chasm and the one on the Gerudo desert buried under the sand, you can still find patches of Mighty Thistle and Silent Princesses where the one near Rito Village used to be. Quite an obvious one, but the original Great Plateau Shiekah Shrines have all been replaced by chasms, while the new Shrine location used to be a Bokoblin skull-base. And there's a hot spring in the Depths beneath where the Shrine of Resurrection used to be.
The whole Hot Spring thing even makes sense if you go back to botw, because in the opening cutscene, we can see water being drained from the tub link was in as he wakes up. The shrine was probably using the water & somehow enhancing it through Sheikah tech so Link could be healed.
The Champions Picture is still in the house if you have save data that completed the champions ballad. I took a picture of it and made it the gallery pic in my new house in Tarrey Town.
Another small side quest I love is the clothing one in Kakariko. It starts off as a normal give character this quest but then you get a heartwarming story of how the older sister gives up her chance of studying with Cece in Hateno to let her younger sister go who wanted it even more. And then you can go to Hateno and said sister will be there and tell you how her studies have been. It’s really sweet
To be fair to Tulin & Teba they get more expanded role in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. There it heavily foreshadows Tulin wanting to train to be as great as Revali and his father one day. Which is fufilled in Tears of the Kingdom.
In BotW, Tulin has a whole mini-game at Dronoc’s pass. He’ll pay you 300 bucks if you get all the targets. It’s not a huge role, but it’s as much as Elder Kaneli has now. 😅
I think the game implies that Toren went to the great fairy, which then "enhanced" his clothing, where he went on to start battling and eventually becomes the leader of the elite monster control squad. Seeing that implication makes it super satisfying to me.
The NPC were like my favorite part of botw, and ToTK really delivered in terms of character growth. I really liked that some of the minor characters really shined this time around. I also loved that you can find old characters in new location.
In breath of the wild, I always thought it kind of weird that the developers decided to place Link’s house and the broken heart pond (which is at the top of the hill next to the house) so close together. The devs have implied that Zelda and Link have gotten closer, and have now made this “Zelda’s house”. Since Zelda is - for all intents and purposes - dead in this game, suddenly the proximity to the broken heart pond made a lot more sense to me. And I almost wondered if this was always the dev’s intentions. … or maybe I’m reading too much into a coincidence, I’m not sure
“Teach Me a Lesson” to me is my personal favorite side quest. It was short but very wholesome to learned Link and Zelda have established a school to teach a new generation of Hylieans. Thus, build up their relationship more. ^^
Probably my favorite change is Granté(son). He’s Robbie and Jerrin’s son. In BOTW, you can find him on top of a house in Target Town after you complete it, performing the same job Cece does in TOTK, reselling the one of a kind armor pieces (and the Hylian Shield), in case you loose them. In TOTK, you still find him in Tarrey Town, but find he’s changed his name to Grantéson to work in Hudson Construction, and helps you build your house
It’s so funny to me that he had to change his name just to work for them, I wonder if there are any other Tarrey Town NPCs who changed names between games like that
I actually recognized Tulin from botw when he was introduced in totk. I remember the small bird who was amazed at my ability to hit targets. The singers were memorable as well
Actually, if you have the champions ballad DLC on a botw save file on your switch, the champions picture will be hanging in zelda's house. I like to think they do live there together, people just talk about Zelda more because... princess
I'm so upset the game took from my replay file and not my MM file. Or atleast gave me a choice because when I came into the house and didn't see the pic my heart broke
I find it suspicious there’s only one bed. Although an easy explanation would be that Link has a place reserved at the inn that could be arranged by the princess to be paid for. Would be close enough to the princess.
My favorite is about a man in Hateno village who stays up late to guard the windmill. He’ll tell you that him and his lovely wife guard the windmills every day but don’t get a lot of time to spend with each other. He is really nice to Link and messes around with him a bit. In TotK, he and his lovely wife move out to Lurelin because she misses her hometown. They lead very happy lives there
After beating the Divine Beast at Rito Village there is also a little "mission" for you to show Tullin that you are good at bow and arrow as his father tells. I just discovered this little mission after having so much fun with Tullin in TOTK that I wanted to know how he knew Link at BOTW.
a small combat detail not everyone may know: in botw, crusher/spear lynels' slams were unable to be flurry rushed due to the fact that the shockwave emitting from the slam would strike you during the flurry rush bullet time and knock you out of it, meaning you either parry it or get hit(or get your shield most likely broken). however, in TotK, this is no longer the case, and link will slip out of the shockwave's range when he begins a flurry rush.
I instantly recognized Hoz because of his Soldier's Helm, as he is the only NPC besides Link to use Soldier Armor. I was happy to see him when I arrived in Hyrule Castle during TotK's early game. Quite a step up in the right direction for him.
Zelda and Link definitely live together. The table is set for two, which implies that she eats with someone else. Link is able to sleep in her bed, which can only be done in beds that he owns. Zelda also has to hide the new champions tunic at the castle instead of the house which implies that Link would find it at the house. She also has the secret study constructed so she can concentrate on her work. Why would she need to go somewhere to concentrate on her work if she lives alone? Also, in her diary she says that Link always stays at her side and in the lurelin quest it's told that she went to lovers pond. That implies she went to lover's pond with Link.
i don’t think the bed thing makes any sense because you can literally sleep in the hateno fort bed, sidon’s bed, a ton of random beds in unoccupied houses across the map …or maybe I’m wrong and link is just a more dedicated version of goldilocks
@@redjoker365 He might mean the one at the banks of the East Reservoir Lake, which was also there in BOTW, presumably to give players a convenient place to rest while doing Divine Beast Vah Ruta.
@@sodashiira1894Hateno Fort bed is specifically stated in the journal there that anyone is allowed to use it. Sidon is links best bro. Besides those two, I really don't think there are any other free beds link can use?
Beds he owns or has express/standing permission to use...generally The house just inside Fort Hateno is usable in TotK. The home's owner left a note saying where he went and why and that he had left the house stocked for his absence in case some wayward traveller needed it. The bed is usable.
Like most people, I didn’t internalize too many of the npc names in BotW, so learning about how many carry into TotK with new roles or designs is so unbelievably cool, really shows how throughly the devs wanted to build of BotW in almost every way they could think to
One thing that I want to add is Mattison's questline. At the end of this side adventure, Mattison will move to Gerudo. So, I, as a responsible adult, and a self-proclaim Mattison's Godfather, travel to Gerudo. And ... voila .... There's Mattison and you can see how she travel there. HINT: It is round thingy and can fly. From there she will befriend another Gerudo girl, I forgot her name. But she is the girl whose father is in jail and her mother work for secret shop. It is a minor detail which probably no one care, but a wholesome experience for me.
I did the Mattison questline before I beat the Gerudo phenomena main quest and when I learned that she was going to be going there I made sure to do the quest as soon as possible so the desert would be safe for her.
(SPOILER regarding that) I don't think she's in the shelter at least I couldn't find her, my guess is is that she probably was taken somewhere more safe before the phenomena was cleared which honestly would make more sense.
@@MrStatementfun fact ! she is in the shelter if you do the quest before the regional phenomena. She hangs out with her friend in the underground bunker near where the map for the friends moms secret shop! i’m interested how the gerudo found mattison when she arrived considering it’s very abandoned
It's pretty clear that Zelda built her secret room because Link was a constant presence at home. That with the table being set for two people, it's clear that Link was there a lot at least.
That's my thinking too. Why would she need a secret well if she's in her house by herself? And why would she specifically hide the location of [POSSIBLE SPOILER REDACTED] there if not to hide it from Link?
@@LooseAsADEUCE Yeah, the princess and sole surviving monarch who is the biggest celebrity in the kingdom and the target of assassins, why would she possibly want a secret room that her neighbors don't know about unless she wants to hide a gift from her boyfriend? If you want to think they're romantically involved, that's fine. But this is a really bad argument for it.
That wasn't my interpretation. Clavia states that the house gets pretty crowded with children and that it's generally open to everyone. I took that to mean she built the well to get some privacy when needed.
While i don`t remember many details any more (too much time has passed since i played in BotW) there is one detail that stood out to me about Flaxels troop compared to the others. Flaxels troop has Gorons and Rito among them, while the other two are pure Hylian. Adding that to the details you mention implies, they have traveled to Rito Village and Goron City and made friends there.
I actually love that Tulin is the sage, not Teba. Teba had his hero's moment with Vah Medoh and Tulin wanted to be like Teba, working at the Flight Range to become a warrior. Seeing that realization in the Wind Temple quest was so cool and feels like time has passed between the two games. It's such a great detail and was definitely an intentional storytelling decision.
It makes sense too, as its the latest descendent of the original sages. Teba is the only one with a successor bc he already had a kid, making him not the last in the line of the sage's bloodline, unlike the other 3.
I noticed a few things myself. When i started the giant skeleton questline i thought i recognized the lady who gave the quest as the same person who in botw was obsessed with the guardians and the sheikah orb. I also just did a shrine quest with a zora child and a hylian that i think are the same ones from the river letter quest in botw.
I think my favorite change in TOTK from BOTW is how some of the characters have aged, such as the Gerudo girls from BOTW (Dalia, Pearle, and Kalani). They were such small things in BOTW, with Link towering over them. In TOTK, they grew up and are now at Link's height. I figure, in a few years, they will be the ones towering over Link. That being said, though, Riju is still at Link's height in both games, so maybe the growth spurt for teenaged Gerudo into the Amazonian warriors we see throughout the games doesn't happen until they reach maturity.
@@davosmando Zoras age slower than other Hyrulean races, so that's probably why none of the kids there have visibly grown. Considering that Sidon himself was that small 100 years prior, it'd be kind of surprising to see any of them age that fast within the time span between BotW & TotK.
playing totk made me realize how much the NPCS had a lasting impression on me. I remembered so many of them from botw and got excited every time. especially ones like sesami's friends. mild spoilers for eventide!!! but i found sesami on eventide and was super surprised!! i was like how'd you get all the way out here man!! and also i remember finding another one of his friends by the highland stable! i love little details like that :) i didn't even realize that sefaro and azu were in botw! i knew about the lil spy kids and had talked to them but i never put 2 and 2 together haha
The reason Mat and Neghyn Never find Hearty truffles is because They are suppose a secret Queue that if you use the Sensor, you could find Hearty Truffles nearby. A similar sidequest happens in TOTK, where if you give a Gleeok Guts to a Gerudo woman near the Canyon stable, She and her spouse can be found in certain locations looking for stuff (I found them in Satori Mountain finding Endura Carrots)
Have you found that Gerudo woman and her husband anywhere else in the game? I’ve only found them on Satori Mountain as well but I’m curious if they appear elsewhere
This was great. I hope you do a part 2. I was happy about the secret gerudo shop owner having a family but very frustrated that we could not reunite them through a side quest or anything.
Same here! I really wanted to get this man outta jail but there's no way to. Fortunately, you are able to tell him how his wife and kid are doing if you can get in or close enough to his cell
What I really like about Hudson's development in the series is that he also gives us the best way to estimate how long it's been between games since His Daughter Mattison is old enough to go to Gerudo Village, that tells us how long it's been of a timeskip since she did not exist in botw, which i estimate to be between 6 to 10 years.
One of my favorites is the Kakariko bridge apples. So in BOTW there is a small bridge by the small water fall in Kakariko village that for some reason has an apple hidden under it. In TOTK there a 2 apples now.
I think about this video every now and then. It's one of my favorite TOTK videos out there. Made me appreciate stuff about the game that I never would have otherwise!
Tulin had one more line in BOTW. He was waiting by himself for his dad to come home from work. It was so soul crushing cause he knew that what his dad was doing was important, but he wanted him to come home and spend time with his family. That's why it was so nice to talk to him after the quest when he talked about how his dad is home ♥
I had found the shroom haven room by error exploring caves looking for Bubbulgems. I had no idea of this quest but knew the room was special and placed a Travel Medallion on it to refresh my inventory every Blood Moon! Crazy how uniquely every player experiences this game!
One thing I noticed that is less a change and more just natural character progression: you can find Gerudo who were attending the "Voe and You" class in Breath of the Wild out in Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom including three specific ones at I believe outskirt stable. I suspect there are a number of little changes in Gerudo Town itself that I missed as well.
And they’re actually loking for Link, well, techincally the hero everyones talkin about and they theorise that he kust be taller than them and have a hige sword lol. If you have the master saord they’ll recognize you and be little disappointed though :(
Thank you for making these videos. I'm always looking forward to these documentaries (At least I think they are documentaries). They provide a unique perspective on video games.
The champion's picture and all your horses will transfer to this new game, so long as you actually hung it up in the house and didn't start a new game without doing said DLC. The schoolhouse was actually built by Bolson, too. Zelda's diary in her house states she asked Bolson to build the schoolhouse, and he agreed, stating it would be his last important job before retiring and eventually finding his way to Lurelin.
I didn’t even know those two girls at the end had a side quest connected to that mushroom haven. I just stumbled into the room while hunting for bubbulfrogs and thought i entered Superman’s Fortress of Solitude
This is so interesting, because out of the monster control captains, Hoz was the one that I did remember from Breath of the Wild... it just goes to show how different things stand out to different people, especially since BotW and it's successor are so varied in the amount of ways players engage with them, and what order you can do things.
I really hope you do more of this because I usually don’t pay much attention to the NPC’s in Zelda but this is really interesting and I want to learn more!
My fave little NPC moment in TOTK has to do with the Hylian that asked for a bunch of flint in BOTW (in the Rito Village inn). He brought his new wife to there for a honeymoon but she was super unhappy & he kept trying to appease her by cooking or something. In TOTK, you can find him trapped in a cabin the Hebra area with a completely different girl (i think she's in BOTW too, but can't remember). Seems like he divorced the other woman & now he's married to the new lady & they like going shield surfing together, so he seems somewhat happier now
Fun fact, his ex-wife seems to have cheered up in totk! Her name is Juney and she makes sand seal plushies. She rides around Hyrule with the intent of distributing them to kids, and you even get a fun minigame where you have to find and collect all her lost plushies. Seems like the divorce was good for them both lol
@@12parakeetsinahumansuit Ahh that's right! Thanks for that tidbit! I couldn't remember his ex-wife's name & appearance, but yeah, does seem like it's worked out for both of them haha
HEY LISTEN! Is very well known that in japanesse "Zelda's house" is referred as "Our house" instead, but i think the reason everyone says its zelda house is probably due to link being constantly out? I like to think that he still helps around hyrule whenever he isnt guarding the princess acting as a ronin looking for people who need help but never saying who he is
Yeah, I suspected Link would leave Zelda to take over while he can take time to go out, since he’s basically giving the house to Zelda for her to stay in. It’s still pretty thoughtful 😊 Also I figured somehow they changed it from JPN version to just Zelda’s House, but it’s still pretty neat Link lends the very house he bought and refurbished just for Zelda to expand on and make herself at home
This isn't true, actually. Zelda doesn't refer to it as "our house" in Japanese. It just uses the character 家, which just generally means house, without modifiers or possessives. I don't know where this rumor started, but it's possible that it came from Google Translate. Japanese (and many languages) often doesn't require pronouns or particles in the same way English does, so in order to translate Japanese into valid English without context, sometimes information needs to be invented to fill in the blanks. It's possible that this idea of "our house" came from one such invention.
I very much love seeing these comparisons between games. I had no motivation to play BOTW a second time, but I was so tempted to go through it exclusively for this reason. Talk to every NPC and do every quest to see what came back later. So a video like this is sorta the EXACT kind of thing I want to see about this game. I really hope to see more.
Tulin actually got some development in Age of Calamity's DLC when he accidentally gets sent to the past with his father and his time spent with Revalli makes him more confident in learning how to control the wind like him. AoC timeline isn't canon to BotW or TotK, but I think the future champions going back in time to AoC and returning is somewhat canon. So Tulin being the sage was kind of foreshadowed by AoC.
Another thing I found in Tears - Frita, the Rito lady who hung out at Gerudo Town, is now at Lurelin Village after a certain quest chain I'm not sure if you can find her anywhere else or if she's triggered to show up by something else being done. Also, Guy, the RIto at the Bazaar, is the husband to the shop owner at Rito village. Which also makes him Fyson's dad. Tulin DOES actually do a thing in BotW! he gives you a mini game.
"She took down the photo of the Champions" Wait, you didn't know that the photo only appears if you have a BOTW save file (on Normal Mode) with Champion's Ballad completed? Its one of the few things you can transfer between games.
Tulin wasn't that minor of a character. He's in the flight range a lot and loved to see Link practice. He's also the center of attention in a DLC for Age of Calamity
If it weren't for Bolson, he wouldn't explain that the fall of pedals representing the endless love. And it is confirming the case of Link and Zelda's love in Breath of the Wild's secret ending. I'm glad to have this weirdo back.
These clever character developments and more intricate interactions with them are some of my favorite parts of TOTK. There’s so many you could fill several videos-the Gerudo tossing hydromelon rinds in the gutters is now tossing messages in a bottle in the well, ppl with similar interests like the flight researcher & the Rito on Eventide and also the two shield surfers & the instructor on Hebra are all together now… I love doing all the side quests and talking to everyone now for this reason
Great video I love how much hyrule has grown in this game it trully feels like a kingdom that has overcome the long years of the calamity anc hax begun tonrebuild and create a new future for itself. Also they state in game that the school in Hatano village was actually built by Bolson rather than Hudson as a favour for Princess Zelda, it was apparently his final job before retiring and heading to Luralin
It is pretty obvious if you pay attention that Link and Zelda live together in Hateno, people probably just focus more on the princess and ignore her bodyguard. The table is set for 2, she needs a secret study to keep a hidden journal that talks about wanting to do something for Link, and the Champion Painting from BotW is also in the house. BotW is pretty clear that Link and Zelda were in love with each other, it seems they finally started acting on their feelings.
My favorite Rito has always been Tulin. This is because of the adorable scene where Teba and Tulin return to the flight range. Tulin says the line “Hey, Guy! Come play with us at the flight range sometime!” I forever thought he was just an adorable character.
I’m glad someone made a video like this. I’ve noticed so many occcuraences like these. I’m really happy that the npcs feel like their lives continued. Makes the world feel lived in.
The mushroom paradise cave is one of my favorite places in this game, but I had no idea there was a side quest associated with it. Just stumbled upon it randomly and thought it was a really neat little secret.
Ooh not sure if anyone remembers... But there is a quest in Korok Forest where you follows a korok and sleathily guard him during his search for a shrine. His name is Oaki. He is back in Totk with another cute quest and I'm so happy to see him back. 😊
Once I am finally done exploring TOTK world, every inch of it, I am looking forward to replaying BOTW and seeing all the characters from the beginning. You are so right about Tulin.
It was actually Bolson who built the school in Hateno, not Hudson construction. Zelda's journal mentions it and that it's his last job in Hateno before he sets off.
19:01 Tulin in BOTW actually hosted an Archery Minigame in the flight range you could do where you shoot targets, it had a shrine near it and another that appears when you get a high enough score
I cackled aloud when I realized that Granté (the Hylian who'll sell you a new Hylian Shield if you break the first if you've completed From the Ground Up) has changed his name to Grantéson by the time of Tears of the Kingdom so that he could work for Hudson. It makes me wonder how many other Hudson employees changed their names.
One change I DEFINITELY liked was being allowed to ride the dragons. With the PROPER protective gear for Farosh, Naydra, and Dinraal, you can ride them out while farming specific parts. That ability to ride them allows easier access to the dragon's scales and horns since you can use a melee weapon to strike the respective parts. Claws and Shard of Fangs still require arrows, but if you play your cards right you can get right back on the dragon's back. Farosh comes with a "Storm" effect which varies depending on both location on the surface and time of day. If near the Gerudo Canyon at night, you get a blizzard. Otherwise it's a thunderstorm. Naydra comes with a Lv.2 Cold Zone while Dinraal comes with a Lv.2 Scorching Climate. Also, set bonuses for the Rubber, Snowquill, and Flamebreaker are recommended for when riding the dragons for their descent into The Depths. Farosh going there will nullify with Storm effect once the transition is complete, meaning you'd only have to worry about the electricity.
Loone was a Shrine Quest character in BOTW, she was obsessed with this ball, then with guardians. In TOTK, she ventures around Hyrule to document the Great Skeletons. Hino was a character around Dueling Peaks Stable. He will tell you the phase of the moon and go wild during blood moons. In TOTK, he is trapped in various monster camps trying to study them. He also tells you moon phases. I have not witnessed what he does during blood moons.
In BOTW, you couldn't get the "Vai meets Voi" (name may be different in English) drink from the bar in Gerudo city because it's an alcohol and you're too young. In totk, you can have as much of them for 20 rupees now that link is no longer a minor after the 5 or so years. Note that you can only get it after you finish the main quest there
Oh wow that is great! I haven’t reached that part but I love any reference to time having passed between games. I think this Link is officially the oldest any Link has ever been in a game.
I am good with names, so I remember most if not all NPCs, so it was really nice to meet them again in ToTk and like you said, it feels that time has passed in Hyrule and that people continue to live their lives and even flourish! Pretty cool
Please make more videos like this! I’d love to see what other characters from BOTW are in TOTK. So many years between the games, I’ve forgotten so much :/ Also would love to see how places, things, etc have changed/grown.
From the title, I expected this video to be about mechanical quality-of-life changes, like how bullet time is subtly different or the freedom of movement while falling. But no, this is adorable and wholesome and I love it. Great video! Xx
Nebb, the little weapon's connoisseur in Hateno has a nice little callback to his role in BotW that will likely go unnoticed for many. If you first talk to him for the first time in TotK without having any weapons equipped he'll complain about what a lame adventurer you are without any cool weapons, a nice callback to all his requests for you to show him specific cool weapons in BotW
I’m a bit curious. We have not seen hide nor feather of Cass so far in TotK. Do you think he’s gone somewhere outside the kingdom or might reappear once DLC is available? I hope so. He had a somewhat important presence in the last game and would find it odd if they removed him altogether.
It breaks my heart that to experience all of the little details of this game, You have to be a true open world fan. So many people who aren’t really that, missed the most beautiful parts of this game, that’s OK, but videos like this explaining all of the little details that made it so special- THANK YOU!! YOURE BRINGING TO LIGHT EACH DETAIL THAT MADE THIS GAME THE GREATEST EVER!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Actually a bit of Tulin's preview of his future abilities were shown oddly in Age of Calamity's DLC missions Its a mission where you need to find Tulin in the Lots Woods with Revali and Teba, after completing the misssion it's shown that Tulin wants to be a great archer like Revali and his dad and actually has some sort of control over wind like Revali, feat that Revali actually praises for Tuling to to have an inkling of an idea at his young age.
Symin's character development from "playing second fiddle to a little girl" to being "the one in charge of the little girls" is my favourite thing about TotK.
I took Toren's growth from fairy-shy traveler to Control Squad Boss to mean that he *did* end up going to her after you left and has been leveling up his gear like you do. I Like the idea that us running his errand (and probably coming back with stronger armor, later) inspires him to do more. I keep checking character names everywhere I go, wondering if I know a particular NPC from somewhere. Granteson, for instance, I'm 99.9999999999% sure is Grante from BOTW, a guy who hangs out on the balcony in Tarreytown and sells you armor (including both snow & sand boots after their quests), so having him build my house made me smile - Grante, do Jerrin & Robbie know you changed your name so you could stay in the weirdo box-house-town to sell build-your-own condos?
they do know! jerrin i think has dialogue where she‘s like „my son decided to stay in akkala, he found work at this famous construction company and even changed his name to fit in“
i like to think link still lives or at least hangs out at the house. the game does a poor job of acknowledging some past events (nobody ever mentions Malice or the divine beasts in dialogue...). also: link is able to sleep on zelda's house bed, and he usually just sleeps in beds he owns or when he has permission to sleep there (like in that bed in lookout landing) anyway, nice video! love seeing these details
One person I'm sad to say didn't make it to TOTK (to my knowledge) is Nell. He's the man who stands watch at the base of Akkala Citadel. He fights a moblin each blood moon, but when you aid him, he thanks you and pays respect to the fallen knights of the kingdom (which includes the presumed-dead Link). He would have been a great pick for a Monster control team captain (or even just member) in my opinion.
You can also see Mattison in Gerudo Town. If you finish Mattison’s quest before completing the main Gerudo quest, Hudson will actually comment on how he’s heard of the sandstorm there. You also can see Mattison’s hot air balloon in the small corner where in BOTW, there was a side quest where the wild berries would grow.
Hudson's a pretty good character all around, he build Terry Town _before_ Hyrule was restored. If there is a 3rd game maybe we'll get a side quest where we set Manny up with -Tamana- Turns out she is also already married, so Sophie maybe?
Even though everyone calls it “Zelda’s house”, I’m pretty sure it’s because link is humble and quiet and doesn’t draw attention to himself. He’s literally always by Zelda’s side and Link can sleep in that bed in the game, which he can only do if he lives somewhere (or an inn). Zelda even writes in her diary (WHICH SHE KEEPS IN THE WELL) that she can’t hide Link’s improved tunic where she is and puts it in the castle likely because he’ll just find it super easily. They absolutely live together.
I’d love to see more of these detail comparisons for TotK, there are so many little evolutions of BotW’s Hyrule that most people aren’t likely to notice
I never heard about most of these characters or their stories because I don't have the patience to search and talk to each individual, so it was awesome learning about their development. This was a great video, keep up the content about TotK, I love them.
The champions picture is still in the house, you just need to have a savestate in which you completed the DLC.
Adding onto this i’ve heard it also cant have been put up in master mode
I thought it was there either way, that’s actually cool
I was about to say!
thats stupid
I can vouch for this I have the champion pic in “Zelda’s” house
It makes sense to me that the guy who knows the great fairies who make clothes stronger is the one leading the heavily armored troops.
This^
THIS
I'm probably reading too far into this but Toren the fairy guy's troops all wear soldier gear, which needs monster parts to be upgraded. You basically just have to prove your worth to gain more strength from the great fairy. Because they're the elite soldier group, they all probably had to provide their own monster parts to get good gear, meaning they really are just good soldiers and not just random dudes with good armor
@@notimportant221 nah this seems really reasonable considering the incredible amount of minute details Zelda devs add to their games!
LMAO
In BOTW, Tulin is part of the Flight Range Archery mini-game when you beat the divine beast. His dad takes him there to train to be a warrior. There, Tulin has you play an archery mini-game so that he can observe your archery skills. He looks up to you because he’s seen how good you are at the bow while in the air.
He inspired by his dad, his tribe's champion Revali and Link. He work so hard and learn a lot from people he love. That is adorable
yes i remembered how in botw tulin and teba talked about how much he wanted to see link shoot, it's so cool when tulin yells "LINK!!" in his cutscene in totk, he's so excited because that's literally his childhood hero come to see him
so wholesome, i nearly died
Aw, back when tulin was none the wiser that playtime was actually training; Teba tells you this in botw that he is training tulin but to his son it was just something fun they did.
Also I _adore_ the fact tulin views link like a big brother, it's so cute. Such unadulterrated joy at seeing him again. Also teba raised and trained him well, his AI feels the smartest to reflect all that.
Yah, I consider that to be pretty solid foundation of his character!
@@ShadowSkyX
His occasional headshots never miss. I think they all got the same AI just Tulin's got the only ranged weapon and an aimbot 🤣
Ohhhhh
I was wondering where the farmer dude went! I laughed when the wife started complementing link and then gave him an Egg😂
Like MADAM What are you insinuating with this egg🤔
I suppose Link is about 20 years old in TOTK cuz I’ve caught 3 NPCs openly hitting on him😂
@@kelseybrexit5224 He's like 25-ish now, or 125-ish if you count his nap of resurrection.
i don‘t think so, don‘t their chicken just go up to hateno lab with the elderly man during the day? the farmer was a guard, so he probably has at least more fighting skills than the average hateno resident… i think he just felt the need to help out when he heard about the upheaval.
I got good news, the chicken aren't sold ! :) They just have an agreement with the old man, he'll bring them up to the tech lab for a little walk every day, I think. I can't remember if it's because she has a hard time taking care of them on her own, or because of something else, though...either way, yeah, it is sad that they're separated like that :(
@@LloydTheZephyrianjust a brief doze of resurrection for 100 years
Actually, Hudson didn’t make the Hateno school. Zelda’s journal in her house states that she actually commissioned Bolson to do it, which was to be his final job in construction before retiring.
Isn’t it implied that they got a partnership of some kind at any point tho?
i think the final construction was zelda´s secret basement
That's insane
Lurelin: *Am I a joke to you?*
The title "princess Zelda" is thus not the lack of coronation - it is her proper title as ruler of the Hylian Race and "the Kingdom of Hyrule" is in fact formed in an oath every time with every ruler - not inherited)
Sure, there are Zora Kings, Princess and Princesses - but that fits with real world history where "Prince" was a title distinct from "King", only because of Britain, we somehow linked "Prince" with "Heir", because their Heir is Prince (and ruler) of Wales.
yeah, i loved those little details in the game, just learning more about the princess through the world and the little traces she's left in it and the people she's helped
@@sarowie The Goron elder is Bludo (though didn't he also cede control of Goron City to Yunobo?), and I think you forgot to mention (King) Sidon.

And things completely changed

@@Canadian_Zacsadly that sounds pretty true for the game industry nowadays.

Isn’t that just when you run into the enemy camps before talking to him? I might be wrong tho
one of my favourite changes in the game is what happened with Granté, the guy in Tarrey Town in BotW who could sell you rare armour and the Hylian Shield if you were to lose them
in TotK, he's actually the one who helps you build your new house― but he changed his name to Grantéson to be able to work at the company
silly details like that always make me happy
But he turned into the most annoying npc
He's also the son of robbie and jerrin
@@Kjersten_w is jerrin in the game? as i cant find her i think she divorced
@cosmiccheese4140 she is in the shelter at lookout landing. Idk about divorced tho 😅
i don‘t think they‘re divorce, Robbie has a minor line about wanting to retire somewhere nice with her one day, and explicitly says her name.
Nintendo got jokes
it might be a translation thing, but in japanese, a LOT of sheikah seem to be named after fruit. most people in hateno, especially the women, are named after vegetables or other plants. every player in the band except for one have instrument names… hylian parents sure love their puns, no other tribe is that obvious with their naming patterns :D
@@atlas956 Don't forget the Rito Teba and Saki, which combined together makes Tebasaki, which are Japanese chicken wings.

@@QuasarEE That's Moza, she's still around and still sending her "smoke signal" :P

Wait where is she
@@Moony_2620 There’s smoke coming from a well in the Lanayru Wetlands area. Toward the Kakariko border. Look in there.
Branli's Rito assistant is Mimo, who also ran a paraglider flying minigame in BotW. Its funny that these two are now running a flying minigame together, and in the same spot that Mimo ran his in BotW on top of that, which Branli even comments on.
Branli and Mimo being together was something I was waiting for and I was so happy when they became research buddies.
Teba was my favorite hero in BOTW. Sidon, Riju, and Yunobo are all the fated rulers of their tribe with a duty to protect their people. Teba was just some guy who really wanted to fight a giant bird while everyone was begging him to stop.
Same
Honestly i has really wished for Teba to be the sage of wind in tears of the kingddomr

Link’s 100 soak was just hot spring water and it heals so I don’t see anything wrong with it!
Yeah the pond of the Fairy that was near Tarrey is also still there and there’s some flowers in it too
The whole Hot Spring thing even makes sense if you go back to botw, because in the opening cutscene, we can see water being drained from the tub link was in as he wakes up.
The shrine was probably using the water & somehow enhancing it through Sheikah tech so Link could be healed.
The Champions Picture is still in the house if you have save data that completed the champions ballad. I took a picture of it and made it the gallery pic in my new house in Tarrey Town.
That is a very lovely story. Now that Zelda is save again, she will surely stay over with Link when she on Princess duty is up there.
I did the exact same thing. When he said that she took it down I was a bit confused since I remembered taking a picture of it 😂
Yeah I had the champion ballade group photo too, so maybe you hadn’t completed it on a recent save?
Sadly, this game doesn't read your BotW Master Mode file. I had mine completed there.

He even got a hint or his powers in AOC when he makes a small buildup of wind as he flutters.
Wish tulins ability was called Tulin tornado, but it's just called gusts....
In BotW, Tulin has a whole mini-game at Dronoc’s pass. He’ll pay you 300 bucks if you get all the targets. It’s not a huge role, but it’s as much as Elder Kaneli has now. 😅
@@nikifallen93 Kaneli passed the torch to Teba and Tulin in return helped him rediscover his inner chick.^^

The end of the Dragon’s Tears quest explains that, although it is spoilery

I never forgot him, he was the cutest child in Rito village, generally kods in the two games are really cute and sweet
Oh that was him!
Surely if you loosed your clothes, you could just tighten them back up instead of buying whole new ones.
I like to think they do live there together, people just talk about Zelda more because... princess

They lead very happy lives there
They move to Lurelin only after you save Lurelin. So this doesn't count as a BOTW -> TotK change
After beating the Divine Beast at Rito Village there is also a little "mission" for you to show Tullin that you are good at bow and arrow as his father tells. I just discovered this little mission after having so much fun with Tullin in TOTK that I wanted to know how he knew Link at BOTW.
This is one of those rare videos that just hits the spot for me. I would absolutely love to see another one of these
a small combat detail not everyone may know: in botw, crusher/spear lynels' slams were unable to be flurry rushed due to the fact that the shockwave emitting from the slam would strike you during the flurry rush bullet time and knock you out of it, meaning you either parry it or get hit(or get your shield most likely broken). however, in TotK, this is no longer the case, and link will slip out of the shockwave's range when he begins a flurry rush.
that feels like more of a bug fix. still very nice
Good catch!
I instantly recognized Hoz because of his Soldier's Helm, as he is the only NPC besides Link to use Soldier Armor. I was happy to see him when I arrived in Hyrule Castle during TotK's early game. Quite a step up in the right direction for him.
In BotW there was a guy at Akkala Citadel who wears soldier armor
Zelda and Link definitely live together. The table is set for two, which implies that she eats with someone else. Link is able to sleep in her bed, which can only be done in beds that he owns. Zelda also has to hide the new champions tunic at the castle instead of the house which implies that Link would find it at the house. She also has the secret study constructed so she can concentrate on her work. Why would she need to go somewhere to concentrate on her work if she lives alone? Also, in her diary she says that Link always stays at her side and in the lurelin quest it's told that she went to lovers pond. That implies she went to lover's pond with Link.
i don’t think the bed thing makes any sense because you can literally sleep in the hateno fort bed, sidon’s bed, a ton of random beds in unoccupied houses across the map

@@MrStatement there's a spot in heaven for you specifically lmao
@@MrStatement Now I wonder if she'll be in the underground shelter if you send her there before you do the quest...time for a replay!
(SPOILER regarding that)
I don't think she's in the shelter at least I couldn't find her, my guess is is that she probably was taken somewhere more safe before the phenomena was cleared which honestly would make more sense.
@@tonisama and also doouble as a hiding spot from the Yiga
While i don`t remember many details any more (too much time has passed since i played in BotW) there is one detail that stood out to me about Flaxels troop compared to the others. Flaxels troop has Gorons and Rito among them, while the other two are pure Hylian. Adding that to the details you mention implies, they have traveled to Rito Village and Goron City and made friends there.
theres one group that has a gerudo too i think
@@sidiwvwhi Maybe you`re right. Gorons are a bit easier to make out i na crowd than Gerudo.
wait there's a Rito in Flaxel's troop?
@@fourthknower9831 I remember seing one. Though i could be mistaken...
Also I feel like they needed an excuse for Teba to not just fly Link straight up to the wind temple
It makes sense too, as its the latest descendent of the original sages. Teba is the only one with a successor bc he already had a kid, making him not the last in the line of the sage's bloodline, unlike the other 3.
@@primrosetthuh, I didn't thought of that, makes a lot of sense
I noticed a few things myself. When i started the giant skeleton questline i thought i recognized the lady who gave the quest as the same person who in botw was obsessed with the guardians and the sheikah orb.
I also just did a shrine quest with a zora child and a hylian that i think are the same ones from the river letter quest in botw.
Other fun fact Branli’s “Rito friend” was in BOTW to provide a flying mini game in the same spot on eventide island after clearing the shrine
Yeah most children are taller now. They really should have aged Finley though
Or maybe Riju is just short
@@davosmando Zoras age slower than other Hyrulean races, so that's probably why none of the kids there have visibly grown. Considering that Sidon himself was that small 100 years prior, it'd be kind of surprising to see any of them age that fast within the time span between BotW & TotK.
@@TheAngelsCove The thing is Finley is actually an adult that still didn’t have her growth sprout, I was kinda hoping she would grow up bit oh well
Riju's just short for comedy points now.
playing totk made me realize how much the NPCS had a lasting impression on me. I remembered so many of them from botw and got excited every time. especially ones like sesami's friends. mild spoilers for eventide!!! but i found sesami on eventide and was super surprised!! i was like how'd you get all the way out here man!! and also i remember finding another one of his friends by the highland stable! i love little details like that :)
i didn't even realize that sefaro and azu were in botw! i knew about the lil spy kids and had talked to them but i never put 2 and 2 together haha
The friend with ponytails became a cook for the soldiers that will fight pirates with link
Meghyn
These Comments That Look Like Clickbait titles Are hard To Read ;)
Same, when they started talking about the mushroom haven I knew exactly what they were looking for. Also put down a waypoint for restock purposes.
The same happened to me, I found the cave on my own before the finding the sidequest while exploring the area
Same, I immediately knew Hoz from the Kilton quest, but the others were a mystery to me until now. Neat
I think new girlfriend was a random traveller somewhere around Hyrule Field in the previous game?
HEY LISTEN! Is very well known that in japanesse "Zelda's house" is referred as "Our house" instead, but i think the reason everyone says its zelda house is probably due to link being constantly out? I like to think that he still helps around hyrule whenever he isnt guarding the princess acting as a ronin looking for people who need help but never saying who he is
It is?? Holy hell thats amazing
Yeah, I suspected Link would leave Zelda to take over while he can take time to go out, since he’s basically giving the house to Zelda for her to stay in. It’s still pretty thoughtful 😊
Also I figured somehow they changed it from JPN version to just Zelda’s House, but it’s still pretty neat Link lends the very house he bought and refurbished just for Zelda to expand on and make herself at home
And there was only one bed…🥺
Everyone refers to it as "Zelda's House" because the sign out front has been replaced to say "Zelda's house."
Here’s a small thing I really like about this video. It just starts. No intros or calls to action. Just content. I love it.
Another thing I found in Tears - Frita, the Rito lady who hung out at Gerudo Town, is now at Lurelin Village after a certain quest chain
I'm not sure if you can find her anywhere else or if she's triggered to show up by something else being done.
Also, Guy, the RIto at the Bazaar, is the husband to the shop owner at Rito village. Which also makes him Fyson's dad.
Tulin DOES actually do a thing in BotW! he gives you a mini game.
Wait how is guy being the husband confirmed?? I just know that he is still at the Bazaar
@@tripled2505 you talk to him after finishing the Gerudo story
"She took down the photo of the Champions"
Wait, you didn't know that the photo only appears if you have a BOTW save file (on Normal Mode) with Champion's Ballad completed?
I'm enjoying these change of pace videos. It's nice to have some variety from the usual story analyses.
In English it’s the noble pursuit and the bar is the noble canteen
it‘s ‚vaai wants vooi‘ in german!
I am good with names, so I remember most if not all NPCs, so it was really nice to meet them again in ToTk and like you said, it feels that time has passed in Hyrule and that people continue to live their lives and even flourish! Pretty cool
4:08 the physics of the game were absolutely not expecting that bokoblin XD
Please make more videos like this! I’d love to see what other characters from BOTW are in TOTK. So many years between the games, I’ve forgotten so much :/
Also would love to see how places, things, etc have changed/grown.
I appreciate this video a lot because not too many people notice details like these which add more depth to the game.
From the title, I expected this video to be about mechanical quality-of-life changes, like how bullet time is subtly different or the freedom of movement while falling.
But no, this is adorable and wholesome and I love it. Great video! Xx
I was literally tripping on mushrooms when I first found mushroom haven and it felt like a type of divine intervention i loved it
Nebb, the little weapon's connoisseur in Hateno has a nice little callback to his role in BotW that will likely go unnoticed for many.
He's "seeing the world"
According to penn/journal
It breaks my heart that to experience all of the little details of this game, You have to be a true open world fan.
So many people who aren’t really that, missed the most beautiful parts of this game, that’s OK, but videos like this explaining all of the little details that made it so special- THANK YOU!! YOURE BRINGING TO LIGHT EACH DETAIL THAT MADE THIS GAME THE GREATEST EVER!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Actually a bit of Tulin's preview of his future abilities were shown oddly in Age of Calamity's DLC missions
Its a mission where you need to find Tulin in the Lots Woods with Revali and Teba, after completing the misssion it's shown that Tulin wants to be a great archer like Revali and his dad and actually has some sort of control over wind like Revali, feat that Revali actually praises for Tuling to to have an inkling of an idea at his young age.
Symin's character development from "playing second fiddle to a little girl" to being "the one in charge of the little girls" is my favourite thing about TotK.
Dont forget karson! Hes at the lookout landing helping out a guy to make a mini stable
27:23 OH MY GOD that’s why I found that mushroom cave with an insane amount of detail. I was so confused but it makes sense now haha
Granteson, for instance, I'm 99.9999999999% sure is Grante from BOTW, a guy who hangs out on the balcony in Tarreytown and sells you armor (including both snow & sand boots after their quests), so having him build my house made me smile - Grante, do Jerrin & Robbie know you changed your name so you could stay in the weirdo box-house-town to sell build-your-own condos?
they do know! jerrin i think has dialogue where she‘s like „my son decided to stay in akkala, he found work at this famous construction company and even changed his name to fit in“
i like to think link still lives or at least hangs out at the house. the game does a poor job of acknowledging some past events (nobody ever mentions Malice or the divine beasts in dialogue...). also: link is able to sleep on zelda's house bed, and he usually just sleeps in beds he owns or when he has permission to sleep there (like in that bed in lookout landing)
anyway, nice video! love seeing these details
So I kid you not I may have just walked up to him as I read this comment 😅. There's a guy named Nell at Outskirt Stable talking about Sky Islands.
@@LooseAsADEUCE Seriously?? I'll have to check it out and see what his character is like in TOTK, thank you so much
