Thanks Alex! I've tried to get a tone as close as possible to the original and at the same time I've tried to get into the vibe/atmosphere of the album...
@@alexheigher6756 Allright, great to hear Alex! I'm glad that I could motivate you to get a bass! If I can give you an advise, try to train your ears as much as possible and try to "feel" the rythm, groove and atmosphere when playing
@@hinweg5320 I always use Fender triangle picks "Heavy" (they are the best!) and for the strings, I had Dean Markley Signature 45-105 on this time around but I change regularly
Thank you very much! I don' really know if it was Necrobutcher or Varg but on the recent live version of the track, he doesn't play the same way at all...
I’m quite sure that it’s Varg’s bassline. And yes, Necrobutcher plays it quite differently, not exactly better I think. Who knows, maybe he pays some respect to Øystein’s parents’ wishes by not sounding like Varg. (The story says that they asked Hellhammer to delete Varg’s basslines and Hellhammer kind of agreed but did nothing and Varg’s basslines remained) But what comes to this one here, brilliant work!
Well I use a bass amp simulation (POD FARM), I added a distortion pedal to the amp and played with the knobs until I got something similar to the original
Varg had some serious basslines on this record. Flawless execution as always Brice!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!🤘🤘🤘
Basslines on this album are indeed awesome
They’re otherworldly but pretty simple at the same time.
Hell yeah... another classic played to perfection!! The beard is looking killer, too.
Thanks a bunch! :)
Varg really was the king of elegant simplicity. However people may feel about him, the dude just oozed natiral talent. Imo.
I agree with you...
I love your tone so much it's perfectly scary

Thanks a lot! Ancient Skin is actually an interesting track... I have to feel if I get the vide while playing along

Superb cover as always Brice! Although I thought Necrobutcher composed that bass line, even if Varg recorded it?
