So sad, the tale of the former owner fallen on hard times, and having to sell off the beautiful oak panelling, trees, land, and what-have-you, in order to pay the taxes.
I love seeing the evolution of not just the chateau and the grounds but also the growth of Terry's awesome video and editing skills. Love those overhead drone shots of the French countryside, narrowing the focus down to your little corner of paradise! Also amused by watching the slow dissolution of Terry and Ash's work clothes, from a couple of paint dabs in the early days to full-on story pants with multiple colours and splashes of plaster. Lol.
Funny, when you 1st opened the door to the workroom, I thought, " Oh my, this is really untidy. I can't believe Terry tolerates that. "😅 Your reputation is out there. Well done all!!
Tackling those dumping grounds is so hard yet so satisfying once it’s done. What a great work, with the bonus of discovering pieces from the chateau that will come handy in the restoration is just the cherry on top. Thank you for sharing your process, it’s great seeing you all work so harmoniously together. 💪
I say this after watching every vlog, you are wonderful people and a joy to know, even from a distance one can't help but feel like we're one of the family! Thank you for this!
I love when Tracy hugs Jonathan. She’s a good grandma and he’s a lucky boy to have such a loving family. The workshop looks great. And you found those beautiful panels. I know one day you will try to replicate them, but for now they are remnants of the chateaus past. xx
As ' Of France and England' channel always says " The barn shall yeild". It is amazing what you find in a clear out. Jonathan on the Tractor did so well !!
I completely agree. The has been the best DIY. I had a big proud smile. Johnathan has grown again and did awesome driving the tractor and helping to carry the shelves. That paneling is a great find. I think you're all right. That it came from the salon. Every time you mention that lady, I think of her and her cats in the wet cold salon. Poor thing. I really feel for her. HAPPY MARCH ALL. MORE FLOWERS TO SEE SOON. My daffodils got snowed on again this year.
“Just dump it and run” Sounds like one of my rooms! I know where things are, mostly, but it really needs sorting out. Unknown. What a task. Good luck with yours!
Great job team. These type of "almost spring" cleaning job are very satisfying. I am so happy to see Jonathan especially wearing his minecraft sweater😄🤩❤❤❤
Hello from Canada iam so impressed with Johnathan he is a great boy. Driving the tractor and carrying the shelves 🎉 you must be so proud.keep up the good work young man.
I believe the lost grand salon panelling of which you found a few remnants in your now wonderfully clean barn, was probably 18th century (Louis XV), whereas the panelling which is still in place in other rooms of the château is from later date, I would think 19th century. Would you tend to agree ? Many good wishes to all of you and congratulations on the fantastic work 😊
Nice finds in the outside 'dark room'. I especially love the two doors with the spade motif cut-out. Great clean up! You can always find things that others have hidden when you clean out a large room like that. P.S. Love to see more of the Chateau peacocks! 👍👍👍
Fabulous job, helping yourselves become more efficient. Can't wait to see the little dormer in the peak of the tower finished, such a pretty window. Really enjoy your videos.
I have tool shed and garage ocd! Husband knows, put it back where you found it, or all hell breaks loose . So nice when you need something you know exactly where it is 😊🐨🥰
I love the idea of using cut out pieces of pipe to hang tools! I'm stealing that for our tool shed! Looks amazing, well done everyone on the reorganization. Terry I'd think that the circular detail would be something you could replicate fairly cheaply for your wood paneling in the grand salon. I'm sure you could come up with a pattern that uses it around the room which would pay homage to the remnants you've found. Have fun coming up with ideas, as I know you will!
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿CRACK ON 💪💪 Treat yourself to some stealth mounts for your tools and batteries 💯👍🏿❤️❤️❤️get a FELDER spindle moulder and start a wood panel production line
I've just discovered this blog and you all put me to shame. Thanks to watching you all, I've rebuilt my retaining wall and planted more wild flowers. This is so satisfying to watch but I will admit that you all are so interesting. Is there someplace that I can go to find out how you all have learned so many interesting things. I mean, really, flooring, electrical, stone masonry, plumbing, upholstery, refinishing and so many, many more. This family is just a marvel.
The two unusual shutters with the spade pattern appear ? to represent one of the 4 symbols (Clubs, Hearts, Spades, Diamonds) which is supposed to represent wind, fire, water and earth. The top row of windows on the chateau also seems to have one of these "cut out" symbols (Clubs)across the very top edge of each window. Check it out. Perhaps the others (Diamonds and Hearts) can be found elsewhere in other places at your lovely chateau. Interesting...
My Favorites: The FOUND Shutters and The hanging chains for the chainsaws on the wall... so organized. When I cleaned out my barn last autumn I found 17 hammers.. half of them rusty. CONGRATULATIONS!
The decorative wood panels would be beautiful all cleaned up and set in a display frame with a sign giving the information that you believe happened. You should find a space in the chateau to display all of the unique pieces you have found, like a mini-museum.
Thanks again lovely family! What a job tidying out the barn/workshop. Made me chuckle that Johnathan wants his work bench near the door! Smart lad! Where does Johnathan fit into the family? Is he a grandchild? He such a nice boy.
So very exciting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sending lots of hugs to the little lord🐾🐾. Can you do a vlog of the animals around the chateau? You’ve got 3 dogs, 1 cat?, 2 peacocks. I think it would be fun to see. Teamwork makes the dream work!
well done team!!! Terry i noticed a bag of black tiles, perhaps use as a backsplash of sort in third floor kitchen ??? Jonathen is going to pass you all up in a blink wow has he grown. Always great seeing Jonathen in the videos thank you
The amazing contingent of château renovator’s is so good. All the wonderful buildings have very different owners all working to preserve fabulous old buildings. It does not get better.
Some good wood , a awesome router, tools you can make you're own panels.. it's sad things got sold off ... definitely need to incorporate those pieces back in the Chateau , even if it's clean , trimmed up and framed .. nothing like a good clean ..
It must be exciting to find those hidden treasures. Terry Carol said you can have the carpet back and bring your check book she doesnt like it in her salon
If you can't afford to replace the panelling in the Grand Salon, maybe it would be possible to have an artist trompe l'oeil the fancy panel designs onto plastered walls. It would be an homage to the extra-special panelling you believe was there originally. You could then also utilize the few pieces you've found in the room to demonstrate what was actually there. Amazing find! So worth the drudgery of cleaning out the workshop to find those treasures!!!
Those panels are lovely. I would tidy them up and put them on the wall and make a feature of them in the room you are now renovating. Love your channel guys. Keep up the good work.
@@chateaudelalacelle 😊 We just had ten million feet of snow (Flagstaff, AZ). I keep hoping that the U.S. can take all/most of the bad winter weather so Europe can keep saving fuel. Stay cozy and warm. Spring will be so exciting with your treelets and bulbs. oooooooh. 🙂

What a great job you have done there! Like all these sort of jobs where you have that one place you 'dump' everything then think, lets get it cleared up. I bet you feel like a hugh weight has been lifted off your shoulders now. A place for everything and everything in its place. 👏
My first thought on the panel was maybe it was part of a wardrobe. But it seems like you figured it out. It will be lovely when all is finished. You have accomplished so much is such a short time. Keep up the great work!

WOW! Amazing transformation even if it is a tool shed. I know that felt good. I have to do that in my garage. When things are organized and have a place…it’s sooo much easier to use and put back. Great job….well done! 👍🏻🙏
I've been trying to get my husband to clean out our storage room but it is overwhelming to him so I can understand why you didn't want to go into your shed. You might want to get some lights for the shed that run off of solar so you can have lights that work at night if you need to or just go in and find something. I miss Toni I hope he is okay haven't seen him lately on the vlogs. Hugs, Kathy USA
Now all you need is some good overhead lighting, a dash of brighter paint and maybe a little wood stove, so you have an inviting, cozy workshop to work in on rainy, dark days. Your nifty Ecopower unit can power them for you.
Not long before Jonathan is operating all the heavy equipment and power tools by himself. You go, kid!
When it got to the end when you all gather together, I thought “I miss Tony.” Hope we get to see him again soon and that everything is okay. 💕
So sad, the tale of the former owner fallen on hard times, and having to sell off the beautiful oak panelling, trees, land, and what-have-you, in order to pay the taxes.
It is so sad 😢❤️
That is pretty sad, I doubt the owner really wanted to do any of that.
