It's 1981 I am 16 years old just got my license and driving my Mom from Pasadena to Las Vegas (she never drove in her lifetime) We would stay at Circus Circus and would walk around watch a show they put on for free and eat a bunch of junk food and she would look at me and say "It's time" And what she meant was "I am going to go gamble your going to the room to change and go to the swimming pool and in 5 hrs come find me" She was the Best Mom who worked hard raising 5 kids on her own and deserved her Vegas Trips. Sometimes they would let me sit with her but made me promise not to touch the machine. But she let me sometimes while looking to see it was OK. Then we would walk to Slots of Fun for a long hot dog and watch her play some more. Some would say what a bad Mother but really things we so different back then. We did these trips up until she passed 15 years later. And I would still go to the pool to let her gamble on her own every time.
