I read memory, Sorrow, and Thorn and enjoyed them but oh boy did it have tons of slog. I loved the Bobby Dollar books Williams wrote, especially the 2nd book, Happy Hour in Hell, which I could not put down.
For me I just enjoyed all of it with MST, but I absolutely get it was a slog for a lot of people lol. Bobby Dollar I'm not sure will be for me, but I'll probably try them eventually just because he wrote them!
I just finished Empire of Grass and absolutely loved it! As you mentioned since I know the world already this series is even better than Memory, Sorrow & Thorn! I think both series should be read as one. I also loved The Heart of What Was Lost too! That novella gives you a richer look at the Norns!
I can't wait to get into Tad Willams. I'm glad he has so many books that are of quality. I'm not caught up though, so I'll have to check back in order to avoid spoilers!
I've been meaning to read his other fantasy series for a while now too, but wanted to get to this one first! I'm definitely excited to read the rest of this and the new one very soon!
@@nikosbookreviews it's probably an unfair comparison to make but so far it's more in line of what my initial hopes of what WoT would be (I've accepted WoT for what it is and for the most part enjoyed what I have read of it just to be clear haha)
@@thatsci-firogue I can definitely get that! I love them both for sure, but I absolutely get the complaints with WoT (and have plenty myself despite how much I love it lol)
Glad to hear this one was good, I need to get to it at some point. Speaking of follow up series, have you read Of Blood and Bone? I don’t hear people talk about it much, just FATF.
I have been putting OBaB for a long time because I've heard not the best things about it. I do still have the whole series physically though so need to try at some point
@@nikosbookreviews Gotcha. I only have three unread books on my shelf and the first OBaB book is one of them so I may give it a go sometime soon. Sounds like maybe I shouldn’t have high expectations.
MST definitely displays the authors improving skills as it begins with some clunky quasi medieval language and a few cringey bits of characterisation. Witchwood is pure excellent Tad writing. I am frothing at the mouth for Navigators…😁👍

Tad Williams is good author!! ✍️
One of my favorites!
I can't wait for The Navigator's Children in November!
I'm looking forward to it as well!
Sounds great! I love the first series too.
This is a super strong start as a followup!

Sounds like I should finally get to this, now that the series is finishing up!
I highly recommend it! Now is definitely a great time!
It'll be a while before I get to this, I'm only a 1/4 of the way through Stone of Farewell and I'm having a great time.
So glad to hear you're enjoying it! MST is one of my all time favorite series!

@@alexsedai Oh wow! Only three unread?! That's impressive! If you do get to it before me definitely let me know if I should pick it up or not!

Yeah MST was still only the second thing of his published, so he was quite new, but I agree this is just polished, refined, and pure Tad!
The Witchwood Crown is incredible! I suggest Brothers of the Wind after Empire of Grass.
That's the plan time permitting! I'm going to be cutting it close, but I mean it's pretty short
