kinda, id also give it a bit of tf2 since the agents are more like in that game. Your abilities are more like utility, you got smokes, flashes, HE grenades and so on, but also some crazy new stuff, its very cool. It also has an economy system like CS, but the abilities are consumables that you need to buy. So no cooldown (on most abilities)
I'd heavily disagree with that and say Valorant barely fits in the same genre as overwatch. Valorant is a hard core FPS like CS:GO where your abilities are simply utilities to assist you and your allies potentially setup kills, whereas Overwatch is a Hero Shooter that lets you rely a lot more on easy to confirm abilities to kill people when you suck ass at aiming.

sbwjake you must have not played recently honestly, the cc has gotten much better. All CCs have been nerfed except for McCree, Ana, Lucio but people don’t seem to mind those. Brigitte has been reworked and she’s way less oppressive. And I’m in Masters as a Lucio player, so I’m SUPER sensitive to CC and stuns.

I don't understand who the target audience for Valorant is... Lets assume there are two categories of people, People who play CS:GO and people who don't. CS:GO Players won't play it because they already play CS:GO. Non CS:GO Players won't play it because they most likely don't like CS:GO, seeing as they don't play it. It's literally just a watered down remake of CS:GO with shittier Overwatch Abilities thrown in... RIOT already has a massive list of interesting characters, so why are they trying to incorporate new, uninteresting characters? And while I'm at it, why in their remake of Hearthstone did they not keep the original voice actors? It breaks the immersion so hard, and it's not like they don't own the rights to those characters voices. I got 3 seconds in, heard Garen's voice, and stopped.
