- this is why I hate skating stairs. By now you guys probably know that I don't really skate stairs. It's always been sort of an ongoing joke that I say because one of my biggest weaknesses in skateboarding is definitely how uncomfortable I am skating stairs. It's never really been backed up by an actual logical reason... until now. I don't think I had pushed my body this far past its limits in a really really long time, and while it felt "good" in the sense that that is what REAL skateboarding is, it sure didn't feel good for the next couple days.

It's OK to have a bad day garrett(when I played in my band we called them mondays)you have to get those out of the way to move on to doing your best(also why you should never give up and practice more than once before the gig or whatever haha)point is you are a champion and this is not beyond you, it was your frustration that cause you not to land it(I have learned this over the years with different things, you put it down and come back and usually nail it first or 2nd try)you gotta be loose and carefree and just viking in the zone. When you feel like you "gotta" it almost always indicates "never" smh. I love how you show your failures and frustration, that shows maturity because people need to see what a talented skater gies through so maybe they don't feel so bad about the Ollie or kickflip they can't land today. What you are doing here will inspire people for tomorrow garrett and I appreciate you so much for that 👏 keep rocking bro and stay real 😎👌

Treflip was at an awkward angle. I know that feeling, and it just feels wrong. If your front is facing a drop, it feels way more natural.
You don't hate skating stairs, you hate the mental block that fricking hecks it all up. Your abilities on your skateboard is sufficient enough to make you land that line within probably 3-5 tries but whatever mental hurdle you and us all have put a stop to it. Imagine not having that blockage, you would do everything super easy and you'd all of a sudden love skating stairs. But yeah, skatebrain sucks sometimes

Check out Fleming Middle School in Lomita on a Sunday. It's a half mile from Harbor City park. It was a 90s skate spot and is still basically a skate park. lots of ledges and stairs, manny pads. All the ledges are painted but not waxed anymore. It boggles my mind that the kids that go to school there don't realize they go to school at a skatepark. Lots or Daewon parts filmed there in the 90s.
