Hurricane Michael was the third-most intense Atlantic hurricane to make landfall in the United States in terms of pressure, behind the 1935 Labor Day hurricane and Hurricane Camille of 1969, as well as the strongest storm in terms of maximum sustained wind speed to strike the contiguous United States since Andrew in 1992. In addition, it was the strongest storm on record in the Florida Panhandle, and was the fourth-strongest landfalling hurricane in the contiguous United States, in terms of wind speed.

I live in Blountstown and was there for this hurricane. The scariest experience of my life. Thanks for the video, I was wondering what all was happening outside during this. My family and I were in a house off of highway 20
cool town i went out there recently to film a drive around video thanks for watching
thanks for commenting and watching
This was 3 yers ago xd
I live in Tallahassee and we had it rough here too. We were without power for about 4 days.
Thanks for watching
This brings back memories. I made that trip up 71 to Marianna early the next morning. It took 3.5 hours and a lot of chain oil to do it.
thanks for watching i wish i had a chain saw and a winch for that .
In the middle of a deserted town during a hurricane... you make a point of signalling at the lights. You are awesome 😄
Lol thanks for watching and enjoying
NatureRecycleFlorida Thank you for posting this - it’s a remarkable video!
I love how this guy just goes out and nonchalantly drives around in a category 5 hurricane,he put his life in danger.
Check out Hurricane Ian footage it's more wild.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video. Brought back great memories of living in Leesburg FLA 60 years ago as a kid. Glad not too much damage or loss of life. Live in CA now many years and earthquakes and fires do not come close to living thru Hurricanes.
Thanks for watching
I think there is a Leesburg video on channel
Thanks for the exciting experience! I've been thru 7 hurricanes and I applaud your courage in going out to capture this. Not many share you're enthusiasm. Subscribed!
thank you it was an interesting few day for sure thanks for subscribing
I enjoyed you taking us thru the storm but I really hate that yall lost those beautiful trees and the damage it done to your beautiful town there. God bless all of you!💜☔⛈🙏😥
Thanks for watching
Man, that was freakin awesome! Keep doing it!!
thanks for watching i plan to hope fully
Great footage, I think at the beginning of the video on the bridge is where the time zones change to central. Smart going nice and slow too, in case you had to move quickly for downed trees etc.
Mn384 thanks for watching
Yes that is where the time zone changes. I grew up in Blountstown, wasn't there when the hurricane hit thankfully. I ran supplies into Blountstown after the hurricane and was stunned by all the damage.
It took my family like 8 hours to drive 5 miles after hurricane Michael, we tried to get to my grandma but there were THOUSANDS of trees down on the roads but luckily she was safe
good to hear she was safe it was quite a storm thanks for watching
THANKS SO much for this footage!!
thank you for watching
This video in the beginning reminds me of when we traveled to visit my grandparents in Sebastian, FL years ago. It brings back a lot of memories.

When they said go play outside, .. I don't think they had this in mind.

I haven't seen this yet! I think my brother in law was driving that car on the bridge. We definitely made it better than most of our neighbors. Thanks for sharing!

I slowed down to see if any needed help didn't seem like anyone was in it
@@NatureRecycleFlorida Yes, apparently he called for help and got it. Take care.
Wow that's a very powerful vid there never see or hear anything like that ever and the best thing is it helps me relax as well at 63 , so thank you so much and god bless . from Tipperary all the way over in " Ireland "

Grew up in Altha so right down the road. I look back on this video from time to time. Thanks for sharing! Michael was a bad one.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Did you see Hurricane Ian video
We've experienced typhoon haiyan in the philippines, the most intense typhoon at landfall ever recorded, the wind speed was really insane🥺🥺🥺
Cool thanks for watching
I just heard of this typhoon yesterday and watched videos of it and it was just crazy dangerous. Congratulations on surviving that. Everything after surviving this is a blessing
16 months later....and there are still people trying to cut trees and debris in Calhoun and Jackson Counties
I was down driving through Mexico beach its still torn up
Thanks for watching
I live just outside of Tallahassee and saw the destruction after Michael. Strangest thing is we never lost power thru this. Only storm I can remember that came close to us where we didn’t lose power.
Thanks for watching
Wow I was without power for 5 weeks
Terry Jones Man that stinks. I lived outside Havana Florida back when Kate came through. We were without power for two weeks, I can’t imagine five!
I found out its cheaper to buy power than make i think it was just under 1500 fuel cost in the 5 weeks
Terry Jones Ouch!!! The summer just before Michael hit we bought a new Generac portable generator and had one of those devices installed on our electric meter by Talquin Electric where you can hook up a portable generator and power the house thru the existing wiring. We thought all set for the power outage and then never lost power lol.
My favorite part was hearing you still use the turn signals 😄 … I would have done the same.
Thanks for watching
Thank you is very beautiful
I'm glad you like it thanks for watching
Was in Blountstown for the whole hurricane with my family. Scariest thing I’ve ever been through.

Watching video now, WOW! We have property in Altha and can't get up there yet, we know Blounstown well, thanks for posting.

I live across the river in Bristol and that hurricane was crazy. Towards the end of it my dad had to let our cows come over with my grandads cows. We stayed at my grandparents since we live on the same property and my dogs stood in the middle of the hurricane. Plus we were out of school for 3 whole weeks from of all the damage that was caused from the hurricane.
Cool thanks for watching
Great video! Glad you were not hurt too badly. Thank you

Thank god for rainex... because those windsheild wipers suck...
Eric Reterstorf lol yes they do thanks for watching
OK, time to go home...wait, all the roads are blocked by fallen trees. How could anyone have anticipated that??

wow the only footage of Bristol I have seen. That was crazy. Grew up there. saw what I been wondering about. thanks for posting.
MrWaltjam thanks for watching
And hosford
It was fascinating to watch the town get ripped to pieces, but that was an absurdly dangerous situation to be in. Pieces of roofs, signs, awnings, traffic lights, wires, poles, branches, entire trees - any one of these hitting this vehicle could've killed the driver instantly.
yes it was dangerous, but weather when not safe is awesome to watch thanks for watching
Ripped to pieces? No. Just damaged a little bit. Stop exaggerating. Good video. I wanted to drive there myself to experience the hurricane but I lostmy phone in a restaurant I stopped by.

I hate that the hurricane did so much destruction up there. we were looking to move around Marianna or sneads and went up there to volunteer every year except this past oct. I am so thankful we were not there. the good lord was watching out for us. We would never have survived in an RV.
Kathie's Crafting Friends thanks for watching
Sure you would have. Mirianna did not get it THAT bad.
@@markpalavos3742 not that bad? the entire state park is destroyed. store fronts down town are destroyed and gone. it will never look like Marianna again and that beautiful state park is just about treeless now. If the surrounding areas look worse i may never go back now.
@@Mrs.KatsCrafting They do look worse. Go to Panama City or Mexico Beach.
So this is an off topic question, but what truck are you driving in the video? I can't tell what engine I'm hearing when you got stuck, but I assume it's a diesel? Just something I like to figure out when I'm bored, also do it with finding the make/model of de=badged cars in videos or images. 🙃
It's a gas v6 almost straight piped no I didnt use cherry bombs it's got two cats and a v8 resonator .
Look on my playlists for danger or storm chase for hurricane Matthew its straight piped.
I dont want to disclose the truck for reasons.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Damn, and I was gonna say if it's not a diesel it must be a V6 gas. I love the sound of certain 6 cylinder engines, especially the straight 6 engines from Nissan or the V6 Audi engines.
@@K.J.Ray421 2jz Toyota sound with anti lag is kinda neat
You are nuts for driving around in this!
its kinda fun my two other playlists Danger and Florida storm chasing has some other good risky footage.

There's something oddly strange about this Hurricane. I can't put my finger on it. It doesn't howl like some of the others that I have watched. Perhaps it was just beginning. Interesting footage however.
thanks for watching
Locals. We agree very very strange
Michael was different than most in that it, THANKFULLY!, did not come across at a slow pace but was in and out very quickly. Had it slowed down, most of NW Florida would have been flattened. I stayed and it was strangely quiet compared to what I was expecting. The eye of the storm is the most dangerous as you are getting hit with heavy winds and rain from one direction, then everything stops only to start coming at you from the opposite direction. Add a few tornadoes and it is very dangerous. I had an angel sitting on my roof and my house was structurally sound but my outbuildings were blown to bits. Huge Oak trees ripped out of the ground like twigs ( I lost fourteen in my yard) and for miles and miles all you could see were pine trees snapped in half.
155 mile an hour winds they say. I don't think he's been beat yet. Hurricane Micheal.
Thanks for watching
I lease a property on 73 just south of 20. Do you know if they cleared the roads yet? I want to check on my trailer and stands. Thank you, Chris
Christian Silva I don't know not near there thanks for watching
I've made that first left turn many times back when I was making regular trips to Tallahassee. It leads to the I-10 Interstate.

I live in Youngstown, Bay County, so we got a large amount of damage ourselves. So called "news" media seems to think everything is back to normal but we are nowhere near finished with cleanup and repairs. Many areas are so damaged they hardly look like they have been touched since the storm. Just very thankful that we didn't have a high death toll as some places have had with these storms.
@@richardcline1337 it's sad I was up there filming in the area seen blue tarps and trees down still massive storm .

I was Sneads, I saw power lines ripped to shreds. Never seen nothing like it
it was quite a big storm thanks for watching
"I was Sneads"? How were you "Sneads"? Are you saying you were the city of Sneads, or was your name previously Sneads? Judging from the "pd" in your user, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by your inability to form a single grammatically correct sentence. Additionally, assuming "pd" is an acronym for police department, are there any good doughnut shops in Sneads? Lastly, is there anywhere in Sneads, where I can get some really great bacon?
Great video.greetings from germany

HELLO!!!! Here I am, checking out your videos!!! I’m only a couple of minutes into this but wow. Just wow. So glad you are okay, and I’m sorry you all had to go through this. I’m sure this video will answer the question I just asked you on my channel. Can I ask you a serious question? Do you believe that this Hurricane was only a Cat 1 with only 86 mph winds, TOPS? And was only 23 miles wide?
Omw, you video is still playing as I’m typing this...the sounds...reminds me of Hurricane Andrew, I was almost 9 and our house was destroyed in Homestead Florida. Gone.
I usually don’t cuss but 86 mph winds my ass.
thanks for watching
not even close i was in tropical storm weather in Perry Fl at 10am 150 miles from land fall and this Blountstown is 49 miles from landfall area
NatureRecycleFlorida That’s what I thought you’d say! I have been so annoyed at people that are saying this was a CAT 1, and only 23 miles wide with the hurricane force winds, and that it wasn’t a Hurricane at all, but a cyclone. What?!
Your videos show what it was truly like, regardless of someone’s ability (or inability) to read a buoy signal, accurately, who is sitting at a computer thousands of miles away. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the channel I am referring to but as I see more and more footage of what you all went through down there, it just solidifies how WRONG that channel is and all of its supporters, who will argue with those of us who were affected (not nearly as bad as you guys), but still had damage nonetheless, that what we were seeing was green screens and cgi. Like really?! Ugh, anyways, thanks for this footage. I’m going to watch as many of your videos as I can❤️

Thats what i thought too, damage seems heavy for what the winds looked in video. I figured id see one of the trees falling in the video but really i just seen the aftermath. I love to watch videos where someone is parked and get to see a particular spot go from undamaged to tore up by the end. Trees are my favorite to watch fall but i cant find a video where someone films a section of woods where all the trees start snapping one after the other. Good video though
